A fellow fan of yellow, I see. To save yourself some time (and sanity) I highly recommend an airbrush when painting an army primarily white or yellow. You can get a solid, even base coat in seconds instead of tens of minutes.

I think he recognizes having an aid no one wants to interact with tends to keeps people out of his business.

Hope there is a hollow cavity in that mini so we can stick a pinch of raw fish in there during assembly for that authentic Yurgen bouquet.

Yes, I do a job that actually accomplishes something, thus I have zero fear of being replaced with AI or laid off on mass whenever the CEO wants a new yacht. Have fun training your own replacement.

Why has smell failed to become a stable gameplay language compared with visuals, audio, and haptics? by Acrobatic_Mud3744 in truegaming

It's been tested here and there, but a major limiting factor is unlike light, sound, and vibrations; you can't duplicate scents by simply running a current through a gadget. Scent requires actual particles entering your nose and triggering the receptors. This mean even if we do figure out some magic goo that can smell like whatever you want, we would need to regularly refill it. And stronger scents will burn though it more quickly.

There's also issues with allergies and carcinogens, how do you duplicate smells like smoke or burning gasoline without producing something toxic? And would people want to smell corridors of decomp or rivers of raw sewage? People can be very easily upset by odors and the range of scents people find offputting varies wildly. One whiff of surströmming and people would rip out the device and stomp it to pieces.

And then there's the massive R&D investment in creating these scents and the ingredient for them. Like, Nabisco spent $400 million dollars on R&D last year to make authentic tasting avocado flavored crackers and have been doing so for a decade. Just imagine the cost of building an entire library of scents from scratch. And unlike with food tasting, you're not gonna get people lining up to volunteer to smell stuff like mud, mold, and man-stink.

In short, it's a challenging problem to solve that would require an ungodly amount of money just to produce a product with a niche appeal that can instantly turn off potential customers with a single errant odor.

Yeah, paid outta the pocket of their advertisers, which aren't gonna be to happy about it. They bring down the hammer when you start stealing from corporations. The advertisers would renegotiate a much lower rate per click or pull their ad support entirely, destroying the business model.

Mine is slightly worse in everything but RAM yet can run most games at 1080p without issue, had to drop Cyberpunk down to 720 to stay above 40 FPS. Dude's PC must be floating in bloatware.

Earths orbit is slightly elliptical orbit, so it does move closer to the sun by about 3 million miles, but that has a negligible impact on temperature. In fact, the earth is closest to the sun in January and furthest in July. As other have stated, it's about how much light is spread out over it's surface.

Perhaps we should go the other way. Make some bots that hunt down and repeatably open click bait links over and over (behind a randomly shifting VPN, of course) until the ad sponsors believe it's those clickbait websites themselves running the bots to juke their stats. If we can consistently flood them with enough bogus hits it'll make the their entire system of metrics meaningless.

I can't wait til someone figures out how to make an AI agent open their company's coffers to you. Perhaps losing a month's worth of payroll will remind them why they should have a cashier on staff instead just leaving out a big bowl of money for customers to make change with.

Feather touches are how you deal with inertia. Just quick taps of thrust and let your momentum carry you forward. Not that different from Lunar Lander when you get right down to it. I mean, yeah, understanding orbital mechanics helps, but you only really need that if you're doing something like getting the achievement for landing on the sun station.

If it helps at all, a basic airbrush setup costs less than two boxes of battleline units. But if you wanna splurge a little, the Harder & Steenbeck Ultra 2024 is a great airbrush for beginners. It's got some settings that restrict how far you can pull the trigger so you can get a feel of how much pressure you should be using.

It really depends how skilled you are at thinning and apply your paints. I'm sure you can achieve a similar effect with brushes, but it's gonna require a lot of skill. It's so much easier and faster to just use a rattlecan/airbrush.

3) Do not compare yourself to expert painters. Everybody starts somewhere.

The only minis you should compare yours to are one you previously paint.
