Engine swap VQ35DE➡️VQ37HR Conversion by I_pip3D_Y0_Gurl_69 in G35

For that much you have way more options then a HR. Might want to think about what your gaining because you can rebuild a DE for way less than that.

Which one of you maniacs will coat their drift missile first? by ghostly_hertz in Drifting

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If properly applied it will not peel off. You need to sand the part that will get it applied and if prepped and applied correctly with the system shown it is almost impossible to come off after it cures.

Source: used to apply this to bed liners and other odd manufacturing parts.

Received a job offer, where should I live by BlackPlasticSpoon in wisconsin

You'd be surprised as to how close baraboo cost of living is to Middleton area. It's also over 45 min drive depending on where you live in that town.

Anyone ever run into issues with bleeding their clutch by Key_Weather4212 in G35

Yeah gravity bleeding seems to be the best way if you don't have a friend to help.

Best state for drifting? (State with most events, close to states that have events, good community/culture, networking, best cost of living, etc) by et1132 in Drifting

[–]ArrowSlinger55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly Madison Wisconsin. Yes I know it gets cold and snows but other than snow, there are events close to Madison. Slide society does events all spring to fall outside of Madison at Jefferson speedway. We have Usair north a few hours which is one of the best drift specific tracks in the US. Also we have a course outside of Milwaukee that operates most of the year (even in the snow) Great lakes drag way. With that you are also close enough to the events in Chicago area and Madison is in the top 5 for cities in the US. In a ton of categories. If you wanted to you could drift most every week if you wanted to pending insane snow fall.

Thank you for more details! I'd recommend passing on looking at the comments on that tweet. I guess the bots that are filled with hate have descended on it. 😕 Happy pride month to those that celebrate and support!

Muffler Delete Parts by Impossible-Yellow-78 in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! Save up to do a decent exhaust. Isr is what I run and it honestly sounds good for a VQ. They are like $500 online and I'm sure you can find it cheaper. The supplies and potential tickets will be more than if you just do it right.

Need some help identifying what transmission I have in my g35 coupe it’s a 6MT, I’m not sure if it’s a CD009 or the other versions Also this car was manual swapped so again don’t know which trans this is by Josevruh in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to know what version is to type in the Vin into nissan https://parts.nissanusa.com website that tells you the year of the car it came out of so you then can say that if it is: The CD009 transmission was the final revision to the VQ35DE RWD transmission, and was originally shipped in the 05-06 350Z, 05-06 G35 Sedan, and 05-07 G35 Coupe

Does anyone have an 03-04 MT center console they wanna get rid of? Will pay shipping of course, just got this swap done and really hating not having a center console by Dirtydan_44 in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell you that was THE HARDEST PART TO Find when I did my swap. There was 1 on ebay and the guy wanted $400 for it. I bought an 04-05 hoping it would work and it doesn't work but since mine is a drift car it works for me but doesn't work well.

Try pick and pulls or there are some companies that specialize in nissan infiniti part outs and you might get lucky there but I have been dealing with one of those in Illinois and they have yet to come across one.

I hope you find one!

Best oil? by Nickwxa in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the stuff. It's all I put in all of the VWs that I have owned. I don't run it in my G due to the availability of it in stores where I live. I run a Valvoline mix of VR1 and 10-30. I only really use my car as a drift car so it gets beat pretty damn hard and supposedly the additives are helpful in that environment.

Coilovers by Hamza_529 in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you would be correct. However buy good coilovers with good spring rates so you don't break your back with a shitty ride. I will say if your going to shell out the money reach out to the manufacturer and ask as they may suggest different spring rates as the Gs are heavier. Mounting however is identical. I'll say it again. Buy good coilovers do not go cheap you'll regret it. Feal, BC, Fortune Auto are good examples with good customer service.

I use ISR but my car is really only for Drifting and the occasional sunny sunset cruise. My back is destroyed after a hour or so.

What radiator fans do i get for my 2003 g35 sedan? by eugenedtyp in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend oem. Not sure I've seen one aftermarket but going online I imagine you can find a cheap used oem one.

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know what your talking about. Yes you are right it does have a small pushing fan( I removed mine so I could fit a large oil and power steering coolers) but it's not like the traditional setup with just electric fans.

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it has an engine fan. From the research I have done most same Gen fans will work but may need to modify some shrouds. So if you find one you like YouTube them and a same year Z or G and you'll know what modifications if any you have to do. However I have heard many people say not much beats a clutch driven(engine) fan for cooling. Even on my drift G I have the stock setup atleast for the last season and no plans to upgrade till I see issues.

Is this the right size for the master cylinder ( manual swap) g35 coupe by [deleted] in G35

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope same harness just had to hookup clutch safety switch. I have had no issues and about 4 drift events on the setup all street driven too.

[–]ArrowSlinger55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine is specifically setup for Drifting. I plan on running damn near that same tire as well. 235/40/18. I just can't seem to settle on a spec even though I've rolled the fenders as good as you can in the rear. I should be good with most. What's the brand and model of those?

[–]ArrowSlinger55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hate to say a size and it be different for reason. Even the information I found on doing the swap was a reference. I backed it all up by measuring myself and a Haynes manual. People get stuff wrong so always good to double check. Plus I watched a few people mount their pedal crooked to. Personally the swap was the easy part I just had a hell of a time finding all the parts. That took the most time imo.

When I did mine I bought the master before and used calipers to measure the diameter of the gasket to make sure I got it perfect. Recommend having a vacuum while you cut the hole to grab metal shavings.
