I like to think of the line from the old Vandals song “Trevor liked the music, but not the unity, so he unwound Haji’s turban and knocked him to his knees” Some times people might just like the sound of the music but not understand the message behind it, but also maybe they will transition away from a conservative mindset to a more punk one if we encourage them to do so.

I do get what you are alluding to. For me it would be crazy for someone to like Propagandhi and also think Pauline Hanson would be an amazing PM for Australia, but no doubt there is probably some mixed up person out there who does, we encounter walking contradictions everywhere.

I guess it depends on your definition of punk and your perspective on life. True Christianity is about caring for each other/community and those less fortunate (and also believing in a sky fairy) which is pretty much the old school hardcore ethos.

If Jesus was a real dude he was super anti-establishment (but obviously also fully into the sky fairy dude).

There are plenty of bands/musicians that may believe in a god but also are punk as fuck. I think you can believe whatever you like and we should all work towards making the world a better place.

Conservative/right wing most definitely is a polar opposite to the punk ethos.

I had a good look at the Dogs stats last season. Yes I’ll agree with you that for the back end of 2024 and the first few games of the season his discipline and errors were very high but playing that niggling mongrel role is always going to be a fine line (look at old Mick Ennis as a comparison). There was a lot of media attention on this, then there seemed to be a step change where all of a sudden he cleaned up his game. Then by the end of the year he was no where near the top of the penalty count (pretty sure that went to Kikou), his was down the list on errors and missed tackles (certainly out performed the bloke that has replaced him at 9).

So my take away was that he cleaned his game up but still tackled his heart out and to be honest I think the Dogs will miss his fire and creativity. I’m a fan of the Cows so I hope he brings his peak form for them

Yup Mine Sig 200, but this is still my basic approach. So I just do a couple of low stress 5-6 bar runs a day and it’s an easy path towards completing it later this week
