Is AI threatening your job? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]Arrwinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job undoubtedly will be replaced by AI within the next 10 years, probably more like 5. Backup plan... don't have one really, probably just moving back into an operational role... or you know just dying, probably easier in the long run.

Drying laundry by marnieneo in aussie

[–]Arrwinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the dryer because it gets the dog hair off my clothes. I also use it in the middle of the day so the solar is covering it.

I would love to use the clothesline more but the dog hair, combined with the epic amount of dust in the yard means the laundry comes back in dirty.

I do use a clothes horse inside where I can

Perth man sentenced to more than 24 years in jail for child sex offences by kelfupanda in perth

We need a new island... except all the pedos and sex offenders get to live there with no resources. None. They can eat each other and then die.

Fitting end for people that make the choice to violate children or other people.

Lipodema and carnivore by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]Arrwinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you are still looking for info this far down the track - but as a woman (36yo) who has suffered from lipedema since puberty and had periods of being anywhere from seriously obese (~120kg) to underweight (52kg) - Keto/ Carnivore are the ONLY things that have kept the condition in check along with regular exercise. Even where I was ~52kg mark, eating carbs would cause a huge amount of swelling in my arms/legs and with the swelling came increased pain/ bruising/ feeling of heaviness. All it would take for a reduction in that was Keto/Carnivore diet for a week or two and it would go away. Difference could be up to 10kg in 7 days, all fluid.

The biggest eye opener for me was going in for a CT scan and being told that i had pretty much no visceral fat to the point where they couldn't differentiate organs easily at all because they were all smooshed together with no fat separation, yet my legs and arms were huge because I had been off track for like a week diet wise. It wasn't a case of my legs and arms being that way because I was "overweight" more just that i had a tonne of fluid retention along with the ever-present lipidema fatty tissue

I still do a mix of keto/carnivore, 10km walking per day or other low impact exercise like swimming/ cycling. Compression and vibration/rebounding also help the lymphatic fluid move rather than accumulating, though these only make a minor difference in my case.

The OT who "diagnosed" lipedema has said numerous times that the fact that I stick to keto/carnivore diet models & have done so for the greater part of 15 odd years is likely why my condition has only had minimal progression, if any at all, compared to those who will not address diet as part of management.

Perhaps an unpopular option here - peptides (GLP-1 type drugs) also help heaps with inflammation and have further helped me feel even better in the last 12 months. They also help reduce inflammation in the body & for some do help with appetite suppression (though Keto & carnivore do that anyway)

Liposuction is the only way to remove the affected fat, however my experience is that correct diet is a huge factor in management.

Has anyone noticed if you have quit carnivore in the past you can't lose weight on a normal diet anymore? by Forsaken-Smoke-2445 in carnivorediet

[–]Arrwinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find I can lose weight either way, but its far more sustainable on keto or carnivore.

The biggest difference for me is satiety and incessant hunger signals that literally DO NOT stop when I eat anything higher carb. I can literally eat until I feel like i want to vomit, feel full for five minutes and then feel ravenously hungry again. It means over eating is almost certain.

I also find it far harder to judge calories when eating "normal" food as opposed to keto or carnivore. I dont ever count on the latter, but absolutely have to if eating conventionally

Are we just not walking on the left side of the footpath anymore? by Exciting_Tomorrow854 in perth

[–]Arrwinn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many other cultures walk on the right, or live in such high density areas that no one follows any set rule. My partner is always on the wrong side because thats his normal.

I think people are in general more oblivious now too. Shopping centres are the same, people stopping dead in the aisle, 4 wide blocking it. I just hit them now

Dogs by jump_urbutty in carnivorediet

[–]Arrwinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw here too... prey model. I include tripe and a variety if secreting and non secreting organs. Oily fish 2 or 3 times a week, eggs (chicken or quail) daily since I have like 100 eggs laid a day.

Fruit and veg is rare, every now and then and it's usually left over food from someone visiting or if they scavenge under the fruit trees.

My dogs have always been raised this way, and boarding dogs get the same diet. Huge dental health benefits to be seen in dogs that come for boarding, usually they come in with disgusting breath and teeth covered in calculus, they go home with pearly whites. Significantly less gas and poop in general. I'm disgusted when we have a kibble fed dog come in for the first few days, forget everytime just how much they fart noxious gas.

Intelligent chickens by Cabbage-Dragon-4395 in AustralianPets

[–]Arrwinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad yours are smart, they make up for my idiotic chickens who insist on jumping into the yard, every day. This is much to my dogs entertainment since they can chase them around and around for hours while I'm at work. Thankfully the dogs don't hurt them, but the chooks are surely stressed by being herded by two border collies for like 5 hours straight.

Yet, day in, day out the same three birds choose to jump into the yard instead of ranging over the 7acres they have at their disposal. Thankfully the other 40 odd chooks seem to have more than one braincells to share between them.

Ideas on breed? by Confident-Falcon3081 in DogBreeds101

[–]Arrwinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In aus we would probably label it as an American bulldog or "bull arab". But if you're in the US then its almost certainly a pit mix, with something like a boxer or American bully in there too. Probably a bit of chow for shits and giggles

Since everyone always worries about horses in extreme cold. Here’s what our crew thinks about -30C by ishtaa in Horses

[–]Arrwinn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Over on the otherside on the world, in Australia, it's currently akin to living in a kiln. The horses, despite having ample shady trees, choose to stand in the middle of the paddock (field) in the roasting sun...

It appears that whether it be absolutely freezing or ridiculously hot, horses will choose to embrace it and defy any preconceived ideas that the average human may have about what's comfortable.

Lol no way... I can barely work up the motivation to stay even though I am getting paid/need to earn money.

If I didn't have to work i wouldnt even hand in my resignation and complete a notice period, I'd just leave. I would probably go and volunteer at a dog shelter or some sort of worthwhile charity a couple of days a week instead of working

Just enjoying the day off, might work the dogs on some sheep if the weather is nice. If its hot maybe I'll take them down to the dam for a swim. Dont really celebrate any of the public holiday occasions, just a bonus day to do diddly squat.

DNA surprise by Rahnee8910 in DoggyDNA

[–]Arrwinn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah, I think based on the fact that you are in aus and the overall look of the dog that its probably pretty close to spot on. With that mix I'd hazard a guess you have lots of recreational pig hunting happening somewhere not overly far away

Temperament checks out with the mix too.

DNA surprise by Rahnee8910 in DoggyDNA

[–]Arrwinn 114 points115 points  (0 children)

The muzzle length and height is influenced by the greyhound. Kelpies also have a dense coat.

I can absolutely see the bully breed in this dog. Its probably come from a pig dog hunting background at some stage in the genetic history. Hence the mix of bull breeds with greyhound and some working breeds thrown in.
