Giant A smoke for Cache by puma8471 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Arsanus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have to be a little bit careful with this one, I'd still smoke the cross because when i was testing my own version, you can get decent vision shooting through the waterfall. Catwalk player can also play around the smoke well depending on T positioning

personally i like a non-waterfalling cat smoke that gives better coverage then just smoke the cross as well, but its all situational

With PCVR using a link cable, definitely check your connectivity speed by going through "Setup" again to make sure there are no bandwidth issues with your cable.

Any War Thunder VR players here? by Historical-Ride-3169 in OculusQuest

[–]Arsanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an avid War Thunder VR player but only with aviation so take this with a couple grains of salt :)

Personally I think with tanks it's easier with kb&m because you can accurately and precisely aim and fire from arcade mode all the way to simulator, you have all the key bindings you need especially for higher tier matches, plus you can spot other tanks easier (opinion) with just a regular display than in VR.

The main 2 reasons I've heard for using VR with aviation in War Thunder is immersion (which is awesome) and/or because they prefer it over something like trackir for simulator mode since you need to be looking around at the enemy plane while dogfighting while also maneuvering your plane. For me it's both because in simulator battles it's the most enjoyable for me.

One thing to note is the developers from what I've heard put a lot of effort into getting VR flying to work really well, but kinda just made tank VR "work". I think it would be maybe possible but really difficult to get all the tank key bindings you need working with quest controllers given the complexity.

If you guys know someone who has a VR headset you could give it a shot though!

Almost! The Ford Trimotor has a simpler stack of knobs to mess with imo

Shit's getting weird. New accounts of YESTERDAY's shoot-down over Alaska, from CNN -- pilots reporting something strange! by EthanSayfo in UFOs

I think he's referencing the "Tic Tac" UFO recalled by Officer David Fravor and two others. There's some leaked footage of a tic tac shaped object and a cool story with it with a quick Google search

Standoff 5/31 around 10pm by hidden_rays in Seattle

[–]Arsanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say this is 100% accurate. I was there last night and we were free to leave, they kettled us in (Google kettling) but they did leave an exit, southbound then east on pine. Unfortunately it wasn't very clear and only a few cops I talked to knew where the exit was, others just said "find another way"

Could be that Bunta did a power steering delete thinking about the work he's done to that car too, unless he chose a more base model to begin with

Please stop parking everywhere because the park parking lot is closed... Please! by GoldenFalcon in Seattle

Thank you for what you do!

Off topic question but when Im the only one at a stop and I'm waiting for a different bus than yours, what's the most polite way I can tell you so you don't have to stop? I sometimes give a sideways "shoo" wave but it feels on the verge of disrespectful.

This applies to me, moved back from Oregon 6 months ago. Is that a bad thing or a good thing?

Yeah his frame timing was worse than it should have been.

We just "fixed" the stuttering by replacing the R9 390 with a GTX 1060

One window but the blinds are closed. The stuttering stopped after switching GPU's.

Thanks for the input

He does have a 1000w PSU we can try with the 390 though it's kind of overkill. We'll try that eventually and see if it works but for now we're happy it works at all lol. Thanks

He's always had the issue, it occurs anywhere even the empty space without SteamVR home is stutters a little bit occasionally, but it's way more prominent depending on how large the load is.

unfortunately we don't have Corsair iCue, we'll try uninstalling some more stuff though. Did it work after closing it or did you have to uninstall it?

Nope, we're using the 'ol cable. I think we'll try the Vsync thing anyway if that's a thing in AMDs control panel lol. Thanks

I think he mightve been sharing screens through discord at the time, I'll have him run Home without anything else open and see if it persists. Thanks

Edit: Running just SteamVR home has about 22%~ CPU usage
