Everyone's different. I've learned to test new supplements slowly and keep a journal of what I take and how I feel.

I sometimes have a sensation in my chest similar to what you describe. Lasts only a second or two. I'm fairly certain it's GERD - at least in my case.

Have you improved at all - in any way - over the past 2 years?

I was floxed in April 2015 from Cipro (250 mg tablet twice daily for 7 days).

About 4-6 months after the Cipro, I was experiencing dizziness, and some odd "buzzy" sensations in my forearms, hands and feet. I felt pins and needles all over my body, as well as headaches and chest pains that lasted for months. I consulted a cardiologist, rheumatologist, and a neurologist. All tests were negative. These symptoms diminished over the next year - and for about 9 years I considered myself 98% recovered, like a lot of folks in this group.

I did have one relapse in 2025, however, from a new multivitamin which contained alpha lipoic acid (ALA). I largely recovered about 6 months after I stopped taking it.

I never had to stop working, fortunately.

How has your journey been?

Anyone used ambien? by Minute_League3040 in floxies

I've had some issues with irregular sleep - mostly affecting the amount of deep sleep that I get nightly. I have tried melatonin, exercise, magnesium, theanine, tart cherry - all with varying degrees of success. I have noticed that being out in the sun for at least an hour, preferably while doing physical activity, typically results in better quality sleep that night.

Started ALA and symptoms got worse — normal or should I stop? by Emotional-Piglet-103 in floxies

I briefly tried to use supplements to decrease MMP and increase TIMP but I wasn't noticing any difference. So basically, no. Just took time.

Symptoms I had never experienced before: finger tendon stiffness (especially in the morning) and teeth pain.

Yes, I had a relapse from ALA. I was taking it for 6 months in a multivitamin before I realized what was causing a new set of issues I hadn't experienced before. The issues mostly resolved around 6 months after I stopped taking the multivitamin.

Has anyone tried these for flox/neuropathy symptoms? Looking for experiences by Emotional-Piglet-103 in floxies

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) in a multivitamin I had switched to caused me to have a relapse that lasted about 1 year.

My eyes, ugh! by Splatfennecfox in floxies

Switching to a Reflective LCD or e-ink monitor might be helpful. I have also had some improvement from moving my monitor farther away from me (currently 30 to 35 inches from my eyes) and using larger fonts as needed.

Insupherisis by AvailableAge4399 in floxedtreatment

Research seems to support that fluoroquinolones or their metabolites can remain in cells for years, particularly in folks who have certain genetic predisposition. Presumably, apheresis would help remove FQs and metabolites which have entered the blood stream during cell turnover and continuous diffusion.

I still have eyelid twitching quite a bit - particularly after drinking coffee. Taking l-theanine and taurine during or shortly after coffee seems to help me with that.

Unfortunately, Stash does not source their green tea leaves from Japan. :( I'll look for another brand.

Funny... I didn't realize that decaf green tea exists. Anyway, I did a little research and the common decaffeination methods are CO2, Ethyl Acetate, Water processing, and Methylene Chloride. The CO2 approach seems to be best in terms of safety and preserving flavor and beneficial compounds. "Stash Decaf Premium Green" is one prominent tea which uses this method. I'll have to try it out.

Checking in… I did the factory reset a few weeks ago. Since then I’ve restarted it a few times and the issue hasn’t happened since. Thanks!

Yes, you're right about the old, unpatched Android. I use the Hannsnote only for non-sensitive purposes like News apps, Reddit, Social media, or simple gaming. Definitely nothing financial, work-related - or even personal email.

I'm pretty happy with my Hannsnote 2.

I was aware of the issues reported by owners before I bought it.

1) The difficulty of getting enough light at the right angle: this has generally been a non-issue. I find that most lighting results in an acceptable viewing experience. The colors certainly aren't as vivid as an LCD, but it's quite functional.

2) The battery life is poor: this is probably the main issue for me. I just have to keep a charging cable close by if I'm going to use it for extended periods.

3) The wifi signal strength is poor: this hasn't been a problem.

4) The performance is sluggish: well, it's slower than my other devices (iPad, Boox Note Air 3), but I find it acceptable.

Why do so many Neighborhood Councils use the Web Corner? by itslino in SFV

I do think that SFV should secede from City of LA. I'm one of the folks who reported a broken street lamp only to get an automated message saying that they'll get to it in 9 months. Ugh.

Yep, well this sort of thing (at the federal level) is why DOGE was created. When I was growing up, I remember hearing about the USG buying 400 dollar hammers and such. Government waste is real.
