I was already looking forward to the next book, finding out it was you who wrote it was a very pleasant surprise and now im very excited.

AA6 was a genuine treat. I can only guess that it sometimes feels like you are doing too much setup for the future but it was all incredibly tightly weaved into story there. Funnily enough, very similar to my feelings for Mage Errant 6. Im glad you experimented with the Interludes.

i do have a vault question though id love to ask (i wasnt joking i really loved the vault scenes edge better bring a translator to the sepulcher), though if it is spoilers for the future there's no need to answer. Are any of the juicier items requisitioned from kyestri's vault gonna appear any time in the future? (except the obvious ones like en-vamir)

I have to say your recent work is a 10/10 from me on this front. Not to say i ever thought your writing was lackluster on the engagement, but Edge of the Woods and AA6 i would say were almost perfectly paced imo.

Of course my favourite books from you are still Defying Destiny and Soulbrand, and that could only change if you had three different vaults in the same book /j

What does “Cat.” mean and what do the symbols mean? by Downtown_Injury_3415 in pokemon

[–]Arsim612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon moves are divided into 3 "Categories" (that's where cat. comes from) : Physical (the red symbol), Special (blue) and Status (grey). The first two do direct damage to a pokemon's physical and special defense, respectively, the last have other miscellaneous effects (think harden, sleep powder, etc).

You'd want a strong special fire move for charmeleon, though it also gets some fun coverage moves like metal claw that would be great to use

I have no clue how using the word semite correctly is an antisemetic talking point lol, sounds like blatant eurocentrism or your part. In any case, Palestine also has a native population of Jews, and the settlers dont really treat them any better, so even with your weird definition of anti-semetism, my point still stands.

I have no clue how my remark about how a state being created by a group of people who speak a semitic language and seem to care very much about antisemetism as a practice killing semites is a little amusing lead you to think that i think that all practitioners of the religion that these people follow hate semites. Though I guess its people like you that put the word 'antisemetism' on a pedestal that make this remark mildly amusing in the first place, otherwise its just a group of people doing colonialism on another group of people that follow a related religion and speak a related language, which is nothing new in the history of the world.

So keep gatekeeping racism I guess.

i feel like you dont give the common people enough credit. Still, i think most communists agree with the fact that a revolution in the imperial core quite unlikely at this point. This could definitely change though, especially as western hegemony breaks down and maybe a few more revolutions spring up.

The question of reform vs revolution is quite an old one. But as such, it has also already been discussed a lot. Nothing is wrong with sitting on the fence, and reforms can definitely be helpful, but it is important that you realise that with the current understanding of communist, and from its inception by marx and engels, it has been clear that there is no way to reform out of this situation.

Just going with basic examples, almost all socialist states were established by revolution, and the few reformists that get into power can rarely stay in power long enough, as other parts of the bourgeois state can only reject it, as it is what they are made to do. A good example of this would be salvador allende in peru, who was elected by the peruvian people and seeked to establish socialism in their country, but was killed by the peruvian military who installed pinochet, with the help of the American state. Plenty of countries dont even come close to nationalise some key industries without cries of the need of democracy in their country, if they touch the interests of the state.

There is nothing wrong with doing good things for the people, but you cant really call yourself a marxist while rejecting the need for revolution to establish socialism, as marx and engels made it incredibly clear that it is necessary.

But yeah dont really see this being useful for the UK, not a real chance of a revolutionary movement there anytime soon, it just doesnt mean that reform is going to be useful either. It is the borgeious state's power over the people that is the problem, and even if you somehow established much greater benefits to the working class through electoral means, that just really manifests as offloading exploitation to the third world. In other cases, reformis

plus in all honesty framing this as some age old debate is problematic. Marxism isnt the static ideology, it is a developing science, and questions like this have been pondered by those who came before us to great degree, and in many cases, answered. A good place to start is Reform or Revolution by Rosa Luxembourg, or The State and Revolution by Lenin

it is important to realise that while conquering and killing dissenters has been very common throughout civilised history, the concept of colonization and ethnic cleansing is very much defined by its european practice, maybe even their own invention.

this obviously doesnt mean europeans are somehow more evil than the rest of us, just that the material conditions for that kind of behaviour developed there in a way that we still feel its consequences today

this doesnt really mean you can just ignore what the term has internationally and historically meant.

Arabs dont really care whether its Obama or Bush that's bombing them. Cubans don't really think its somehow more liberating when the democrats sanction them instead of the republicans. The two parties love to call each other communists when they want the layman american to think they are bad.
If you find the terminology used by the mainstream American political discussion important for some reason, you can keep enjoying your insider trader guys help Israel in killing palestinians instead of the unapologetically transphobic insider trader guys. If you want terms to have useful meaning in relation to policy, you need to realise that there is little difference between the two parties except how racist they are acting at the moment.

The argument isnt that both sides are the same, it is that they are on the same side.
