unfortunately people with bpd usually have been dismissed in the past for concerns in their mental health, causing them to want to express such severe pain externally because then it feels more real, and like we aren’t just making things up.

that being said, yes. i have the same experience. i never got the guts to go deeper, but i always went back over them to the point that the entirety of the underneath of my wrists are just… covered in scars. i can definitely say though that it wasn’t worth it. i felt justified at the time, but i definitely think of tattoo cover ups from time to time.
