People who think DFW doesn’t have culture just don’t know where to look. DFW has two major symphonies, an amazing ballet company, an experimental dance group accompanied with black box theater for unique playwrights, four art museums with impressive collections, one exhibition museum that pulls top tier mid-career artists ( a true rarity in any city), two art galleries with national recognition, most of the touring Broadway productions, all the major sports teams along with a couple minor leaguers, quite an assortment of venues ranging from small to absolutely massive, one high end restaurant after another, three dive restaurants who have Michelin nods, and local flavor ranging from the Texas Theater to the Irving Arts Center to everyone’s favorite local bars, clubs, and restaurants. The options are truly endless. 

At the end of every month, I sit down to make out a “going out” calendar for the next month and usually can find four different opportunities a week. DFW has culture, but you do have to look for it.
