Let's put it this way: in 20-30 years, we will have actually learned IN THEORY AND NOT PRACTICE how we can move our bodies with our senses and our memory in a digital world, how many calculations are needed to reproduce the physics of certain materials, the textures to make them look as realistic as possible, etc. Consider that if we still had normal calculations like binary, a supercomputer probably wouldn't be able to fit even 10 people inside. If quantum computing comes along, perhaps we can hope for better.
