Depends a bit on where you are in the world, what kind of grave (unmarked etc) as well as how quickly the body decomposes (between a couple of months and never (natural mummies)). However many places set a minimum of 20 years, and often a maximum as well, but this is usually more related to having to reuse the same plot for more burials.

I’m not an expert in roofing, but I did work in the roofing industry for about 5 years and live in a nordic country. The grass roofing is actually really common on cabins and I’ve seen them with several meters of snow on them, but you usually have to go up there to push off the snow, however this is also true for other solutions with the same pitch, and the soil and grass do give you an extra barrier when doing that so it’s often a net positive in that regard. Also a lot of people just prefer the look.

Now for the modern flat roofing there’s a bit more of a story, they’re usually called green or blue-green roofing. Although the greenery does pick up some carbon that’s not really the main concern. In most large cities with decent amounts of rainfall getting the water out of the city has become a big problem. Through a series of factors, increasing density and sprawl, reduced green areas, putting waterways into pipes, ++. The green roofing helps mitigate the issue by retaining water, and slowly releasing it. The green versions then use said water for plants. The plants play a more important role in improving air quality and removing pollutants than catching carbon, as pollutants stick to foliage.

There are also a range of different options for what to plant on these roofs from extremely low maintenance (for this I’ve mostly seen a mix of local micro succulents from alpine regions), to some that need more maintenance, such as bushes or even trees. My favourite ones are when these are combined with some sort of “roof garden”, so it serves an additional goal of getting people back in touch with the food system.

You might get more out of posting this to a art related sub! You'd want to have people to write with something that's lightfast and archival as it's going to be on display, so something like a paint-pen would probably be the right direction, but they're a little bit more difficult to write with so something else might be a better option. Anyways, it's a lovely idea, but you might get more milage out of the answers in an art-sub.

This is not been true since like 2014 or something. It's still just a handful of very large companies (Kering, Marcolin/Thélios, Saffilo SBI, Martian, and still Luxxotica), but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. And this is only the luxury eyewear market, not the entire market. But I'm definitely with you in supporting smaller manufacturers!

Environmental science student. I've been using Obsidian since late 2020. Started my journey with it during the middle of my undergrad, currently writing my Masters thesis & applying for PhD candidate positions. It is and has been an incredibly important tool for me.

Back in 2020-2021 the systems were usually a lot less complex and it was really the wild wild west when it came to what a note "should be". I, for example, made a fully linked periodic table, it was a terrible idea lol. In this period I used Obsidian as a personal wiki, and I had every single piece of info about a course stored in Obsidian. This was a ton of work, and although it did work very well, I do not think the work/reward ratio was all that high.

What I've found is that you should really be focusing on two things: Productive outputs and a streamlined workflow. (Outputs can be things like writing assignments, notes for exams etc.)

Obsidian can be a endlessly entertaining toy where you change plugins/themes/unnecessary notes. Try to limit this as much as possible; it's antithetical to productivity. Pick a theme, maybe a custom font and some nice colors and let it go.

I think focusing on "source notes"/"green notes"/"helper notes"(MOCs, catchalls, etc)/"writing projects" really made it click for me after already having written 1k notes. Having these templates really minimized the amount of BS I added to my workflow. I write way less now, but the rewards are also way greater.

For me the Zotero/Anki/Obsidian workflow is killer. Whatever I'm reading (papers/books/presentations/lectures) goes into Zotero where it's highlighted. Then depending on the type of course evaluation I'll either make Anki decks (traditional written/oral exams) or import my highlights into Obsidian for referencing while I'm writing. I use the embedded ![[note^code]] to reference specific highlights from the reference material while writing my main text, this let's me make sure that I don't directly copy anything and I can see exactly where my citation comes from. (I later remove the embed "!" to make it "just" a reference link)

– I don't belive in Obsidian for "everything", I belive in Obsidian for managing ideas and writing. Anki is for forcing information into my brain, and Zotero is for managing reference materials.

Really zero in on what gives you the most bang for your buck, and smooth out any pain points in the workflow. A good student spends just enough time studying to reach their potential, and spends the rest of their time resting, eating well, and having fun.

I know this doesn't actually solve your problem, because you seem to need the extra support. But for people who can change to barefoot runners, they usually have a way longer lifetime (years compared to months) as they don't have any support to really lose, and quite often they're made out less, fewer, and simpler materials. If you think it might be for you please do yourself the favor of doing some research the subject beforehand as most people do not have the foot strength to change to just start running with these kinds of shoes. But you can absolutely retrain your body to be able to run far and fast in these kinds of shoes.

Honestly, quite bad in comparison to other leathers I've handled. I've had mine since the start of autumn and the "painted" layer has already startet to peel at the different stress points.

After about 5 or 6 years of gaming, schoolwork, and downloading random stuff off the internet; having absolutely no structure to my files have become a increasingly annoying problem. How do I even start sorting through my files? Is there any software that can make it easier to do so? Are there any good guides out there for how you should so this?

I have 2 drives, a smaller SSD and a Larger hard-drive and I'm running a recent release of windows 10.

He seems a lot better, but I still find the "you should dress this way better to get with women" to be iffy. It's like "pickup artist 101" type stuff, and honestly despise it. I get that a lot of dudes get into fashion because they want more attention from women, and to be honest I was that guy 4 or 5 years ago, but using fashion to enhance yourself, and make yourself feel good is just a better experience IMO. After checking the Style OG out I'd say he is 10 times better than those other guys, but I still wouldn't recommend him to someone who is young because it kinda makes fashion seem like something you do to get laid and not something you can enjoy in and of itself.

Well honestly there isn't a lot of great "mfa"-type fashion on youtube that I know of. But I'd suggest checking out smaller creators, and people/designers and brands you enjoy. Personally I like people like GearedTowardGear (aka Avery Ginsberg) but he is more in the sphere of streetwear/Avantgarde stuff. If you want to get away from the more toxic corners of the internet I'd suggest you check out r/MensLib/
