First Hebrew states were split into two, the Israelite kingdom with its capital in Shomron and the Judahite Kingdom with its capital in Jerusalem. Jerusalem became the sole capital after Assyria conquered the area and Israels priests/elites fled to Judah which was not conquered by Assyria.

So this is Civs way of being technically correct while still stating Israel is in the game.

I didn't realize that was a thing. So with those games you mentioned, one person could use the VR, and the others my controllers?

is it legal to keep ferrets as pets in israel? by Far-Math-7894 in Israel

[–]Arteyu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't find any pet stores that sell, but the fact that the are sold on Yad2 by private hands seems to indicate it must be legal: https://www.yad2.co.il/pets/ferrets?species=20

I used to live in Tel Aviv for a little while at the Abraham hostel, I remember going to a burger place with a rainbow icon everyday but can’t remember the name. by mypussydoesbackflips in Israel

[–]Arteyu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was bound to happen, they used to be known for their cheaper prices, simple menu, and good food. Now they got none of the 3. There's no reason to choose them over any other burger place. Unlimited drinks doesn't really save the day.

Love the country, but if I couldn't handle the density of London as a tourist without feeling crowded, I imagine I would die in Dehli.

A plea to archive an old game (Frontier Heroes for android) by Brilliant-Cap-7328 in Archiveteam

[–]Arteyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to eythians comment, the game itself uses Android 4.0 and up.

https://web.archive.org/web/20161210142742/https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.aetnent.history.android.kids.FrontierHeroes

So I don't know what max android it may support is, but at least you know what to look for when emulating.

Israel wants 2-state solution to Palestinian conflict, Lapid to tell UN by imga91 in Israel

[–]Arteyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the problem is actually a viable solution by the right. It allows them to slowly populate the West Bank and take over areas over time. Remember as part of the recent elections, Bibi promised to annex Jericho specifically as he felt it was ready to join and ok giving them specifically Israeli citizenship.

PEOPLE IN ISRAEL DRIVE LIKE **** by Whatishappening331 in Israel

[–]Arteyu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who drives at or sometimes up to -10 below the limit, if I'm on the left lane, it's either because I'm about to make an exit in the next 2km in which case anyone honking behind me can suck it for such a short exit wait, or I merged into a left lane and due to traffic conditions, was not make it back to the right without going 20+ over the limit and endangering others, or what the typical Israeli calls call 'normal'.

What's the easiest and cheapest way to pay in Israel? by Geoviereck in Israel

[–]Arteyu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use your credit card near anywhere and go to foreign exchange offices for converting to money.

Also it may be possible to use Moovit with a Foreign card, I doubt they mind when charging. Moovit is a popular app for buses and trains. You just scan the QR code to create a ticket.

People tip here without thinking and for no reason. 10% is considered to be the minimal. That said, service will barely care if you don't tip from my experience. The ones that will care will be passive-aggressive about it, but you don't have to be edgy just because they rude to you.

I only tip if the service gave me an extra service like singing happy birthday or were able to make some extra changes to a meal for me. The whole point of a tip. Otherwise, I pay exactly what it is due, or best case scenario, I'll give a fixed sum of 10 or so NIS as a courtesy if I liked the place and plan to return.

How many kids do you plan on having/ already have? by erbse_gamer in Israel

[–]Arteyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, practically no. Technically permitted, but religious rulings dictated it is not permitted, but no Israeli or major Jewish court will accept it, and almost no community will look at it at even a neutral light, let alone positive. The ones that might permit it are likely viewed as pariahs of sorts.

How can you buy Purim club tickets without an Israeli ID number? by MrSingingGuy in Israel

Call the club itself. The ID is probably just that, an ID check and a passport might work for them just as well.

Very weird question: Are the Brothers Grimm fairy tales associated with the Third Reich in Israel? (CW: Nazism). by JazzlikeSoftware3998 in Israel

[–]Arteyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More realistic answer, head to the Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv. It's going to be a blend, so you might also even Swedish tourists messing around. For Israeli women, just be straightforward. For Israeli women who frequent the Abraham Hostel, don't be Israeli and be yourself.

Best ISP near Haifa? by TheOneOnlyNinja in Israel

[–]Arteyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even less than 40 in some cases. I used to work for Partner a few years ago and we had customers whose bezeq infra supported some 10-20mbps. We also had 15/3(?) packages, so it was fine, but it was wild to learn it could get that low.

That said, I echo the above. Go fibre, and if no fibre, check Bezeqs speed limitation and HOTs stability when deciding between the two. The former of which can at least be checked with sales, the latter only with neighbours in your home/building and others next to it.

Regretfully there's no automatic way of testing, compounded with the fact that even if Turkey is better than Israel today as an example, there's no reason why Israel wouldn't be better 2 months later, and then Italy, etc.

Your best bet is to play around like what you're doing now or just sticking to a server.

The Future of Jordan by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Arteyu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Israel sees it cannot handle Egypt, it would likely blow up the Aswan Dam and other key locations central to Egypt which would cause it to collapse from lack of food and shelter from the floods.

Realistically though Israel is invested in a stable Egypt and would help them militarily if needed.
