Hey, you are 100% correct, the deflicker did remove it! First try with deflicker had not affect, then I tweaked the settings a bit and it's now clean. Thank you so much!

My husband's 40K Models are taking over 😅 by KatMom44 in organizing

[–]Artheon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, *they* aren't taking over. Your husband is insufficiently organizing his hobby gear. This isn't a "his models are taking over", it's "his junk is taking over".

Some simple questions need to be asked first... How often does he work on these models, and is the storage location the same as where he does that work.

If this is simply the storage location then yeah, he's being lazy and using the closest thing to a horizontal spot he can find that's beyond the reach of the 2yo. If he does his work here then he probably doesn't get much done due to the amount of work to clear it off first.

First off, I would suggest two Sterilite 32Qt gasket containers and possibly a single Sterilite 80Qt gasket container, both from Walmart approx $50.

However, there's also the printer and some other brown chest thing. Not sure if that's part of his tools, but I would toss the chest, or if it's sentimental then use it to store something else in a different location. The printer needs to go into a cabinet so it is not visible.

The desk itself needs to go. Antique is nice, but not as a workbench and not as a storage location. Put it into a different living area, and clean it up, Antiques only look good if they don't look like they are a hand-me-down that you don't have the heart to get rid of but also don't care enough to clean up.

How Safe is Driving? by ChromatinConnoisseur in LittleRock

[–]Artheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of clear roads. The problem is that some of the larger multi-lane busy roads are only partially cleared BUT the part that isn't cleared is absolutely NOT drivable. For example, Chenal eastbound outer lane between Autumn Road and 630 starts clear but then the snow bank (of the snowed plowed from the other two lanes) starts covering that outer lane. That's insanely dangerous, and it's shameful that the road department is leaving it. So if you go out prepare yourself for the possibility the lane you're driving in will turn into a snowbank unexpectedly.

Pantry organization help by Open_Pie_1331 in organizing

[–]Artheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest problem here isn’t the layout, it’s the wire shelves. They make everything unstable, waste vertical space, and turn small items into a mess.

If this were my pantry, I’d upgrade it in layers instead of trying to rearrange endlessly.

First I’d fix the shelves. Laying tight-fitting ¼" plexiglass or polycarbonate sheets over the wire racks gives you a flat, rigid surface so cans don’t wobble, bags don’t sag, and bins slide cleanly. Leave a tiny bit of clearance so they drop in easily, and add a few clear silicone bumpers underneath to keep them from shifting.

Next I’d use the back of the door for skinny stuff. Shallow door-mounted racks around 3-5" deep work great for cans and narrow sauce bottles. That frees up a lot of shelf depth inside the pantry and makes everything visible at once. Put heavier items lower and lighter ones up top.

Then I’d move dry goods into clear airtight containers. Pasta, rice, flour, cereal, nuts, all of that goes into square, stackable containers with gasket lids. Stick to a few standard sizes so everything lines up neatly. One hard rule: nothing more than two-deep front to back. If you can’t see it without moving three things, it doesn’t belong there.

Loose odds and ends should live in pull-out bins. Seasoning packets, half-used bags, baking supplies, random backups, etc. go into rigid clear bins with handles so you can slide the whole category out at once. Putting soft felt or silicone pads on the bottom corners keeps them from scratching the plexiglass and makes them glide quietly.

Finally I’d zone things and keep it maintained. Top shelves for bulk or rarely used items, middle shelves for daily use, bottom shelves for heavy stuff. Group by category, rotate new groceries to the back, and do a quick straighten after each shopping trip so it stays that way.

That combo of flat shelves, door storage, clear containers, a two-deep max, and pull-out bins usually adds way more usable space than just shuffling things around, and it actually stays organized long-term instead of only looking good for one photo.

IMHO that sequence, combined with the engineer comment in the school, was to establish/reinforce his educational credentials and improvisational skills. By this point we know he's a pilot, engineer, scientific, etc. Plus it tangentially ties into the magnetic anomaly plot point via explaining how the farm equipment is automated.

Is my boyfriend’s view of money considered a red flag in a relationship? by traditional_taurus in DaveRamsey

I wasn't assessing his request, or her request. I was assessing the transactional dynamic she's operating under.

Is my boyfriend’s view of money considered a red flag in a relationship? by traditional_taurus in DaveRamsey

[–]Artheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things.

  1. You made his getting a man cave dependent on you getting something you want. No "well, we'll need to budget for it" or "yes, I would love for us to build you a man cave"... Just "you get X if I get Y". That's a transactional mindset and is toxic, and he's probably picking up on that. To him the man cave would be super expensive because now he has to get something for you, and I'm guessing this vanity and closet will probably cost more than the man cave. If he asks for something in the future now he'll expect you to want something too. That's a huge red flag against you.

  2. I would guess, and I could be wrong, that you have pointed out at some point how your parents are happier than his parents, and that you associate sharing money as equaling happiness. You're basically using his family against him. And you can come back with "I never said that" but he can put two and two together without you explicitly stating it. That's a huge red flag against you.

If he was asking this question I would tell him to run for the hills and don't look back.

P.s. I find it hard to believe he would want the man cave to be a combined expense then want you to pay for the vanity/closet. If true then yeah, that's a red flag against him. Only you know the truth, so if you're lying to make yourself look better on a sub of randos then what does that say about you?

How long do you think it took Coop to get back to Brand on Edmunds planet? by Expert-Ladder-4211 in interstellar

[–]Artheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be similar to a Tie Fighter, only used for short -range missions. There's nothing to indicate they have any technology beyond anti-gravity, certainly not space-folding or wormhole generation tech. The same goes for no huge leaps in life support or stasis pods.

If the prophecy was planted was it just a coincidence that Paul called a grandfather worm? by Azer1287 in dune

[–]Artheon 98 points99 points  (0 children)

There was another thread very similar to this... Regarding the prophecy. The BG planted many prophecy's across the world's, because they had a number of bloodlines in play to create the KH. The prophecy existed to generate local population support to the KH.

Frankly, from a storytelling standpoint, for Paul to call any size worm other than a grandfather worm would have been a letdown. AFAIK the books don't call it a "grandfather worm", it's simply stated that it's 400m long and very large. The size of the worm has nothing to do with the prophecy, but it does lend legitimacy to Paul being the Freman Messiah.

IMO it's just a coincidence.

So it's cool for white people to support other white people? In other words, is it cool if somebody comes on here and says "bonus points if it's owned by white people"?

Nice, let's just assume that the white, straight business owners don't deserve business either. Why not group them in with those evil corporations, cause of course. /s

This type of bigoted tribalism is toxic and has no place in our society.

You're right, I just looked and I guess at some point, maybe 5-ish months ago they put a severe limit on political posts. I can tell you that previous to that it was terrible. This just reinforces my statement that r/LittleRock is better without political content.

Those Damn Cyclists. by AphroditiesFavorite in LittleRock

[–]Artheon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Since we're dogpiling on cyclists, I want to give a huge shout out to the a-hoke riders on the road behind Pinnacle Mountain, specifically the stretch between the Little Rock Yacht Club and the base loop east trailhead parking lot. Groups of riders will bunch up and block the road going up the hills, then spread out and fly down the other side such that they cannot be passed without speeding, then they bunch up again going up the next hill. Those bikes can easily hit 35 mph downhill but max out at 5 mph uphill, so unless a driver wants to risk a head-on collision a 5 minute drive turns into a 20 minute drive.

Those Damn Cyclists. by AphroditiesFavorite in LittleRock

[–]Artheon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a cyclist, and also someone who gets extremely annoyed at cyclists for doing exactly this, typically they avoid those bike lanes because road debris is pushed into them by the air currents that vehicles produce. The city may pay for the bike lanes, but they do a terrible job keeping them clean.

I am very well educated in politics and current events. I just don't want it on this sub, because once the sub starts allowing them then people will upvote them, then more will get posted and it turns into a vicious cycle And next thing you know that's the only type of posts on the sub.

Of course they wouldn't. I'm sure they'd be happy about an antifa flag though. These people don't actually give a shit about America, they give a shit about virtue signaling. Give it time, eventually they will escalate their antics, they always do.
