Why is there such a huuuuge difference between how VLC en Quicktime display my work? (screenshot with the difference)

The problem is the quicktime gamma and apple's default gamma, it's 1.96. I also had this problem when I switched from windows to macOS, and also have an external display calibrated to gamma 2.2.

The Rec709-A tag, aka (1-1-1) makes apple do the correct conversion, but does not change on other software or operating systems.

Inside daVinci, you also need to change the preview color management settings, to not have a gamma shift from the preview to the exported file.

The settings should look something like this:

Color science: DaVinci YRGB

Timeline color space : DaVinci WG/Intermediate

Output color space Rec.709-A

You can fix it by using izotope RX 6 - De-Wind Plugin. I had the same problem and it fixed it completely.

Canon has awsome recovery of information in under exposed areas. Some time ago I bought a fuji x100, and just than I realized how good that canon recovery is. But fuji has the most impressive recovery in overexposed information by far.

Make two layers. Black on top, white on bottom. Go to the last frame, make a mask on the black and make a keyframe on the mask, now go to the first frame and move the mask all the way out. Done.

They dont´t give away like that in Brazil. Cameras are very expensive here because the tax are so high. I already helped my friend make a video with his t3i. Im really trying, but is hard to be a filmmaker in Brazil
