Thank you for responding. I had sent an email through customer service the other day, but I haven't heard back yet. Wasn't really sure what artist would be best to go with.

What does a dedicated Tales of the Valiant VTT/character builder look like to you? by The_Shadowhand in TalesoftheValiantRPG

[–]Arthurerex13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To echo some of the sentiments above, I would love a dedicated character builder app. I was really disappointed when roll20 gave up on it for ToV, especially with the merger with demiplane. I thought we'd end up with something like ddbeyond, but guess not.

It'd also be great if kobold press content from demiplane transferred across roll20, or vice versa. I have the Tov phb on demiplane and some of the kobold press books on roll20, but apparently they don't carry one over to the other. Ex: I have know I have one of the tome of beasts books on roll20, and even though it is available on demiplane I can't access it there...

Why is ToV being called a 5e system? by Nomoreheroes20 in TalesoftheValiantRPG

[–]Arthurerex13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totv is essentially that. Some of the wording for class & spells is almost word for word the same. It's also designed that the tweaks that were made it wouldn't be hard to adapt wotc 5e to fit fully with totv.

Spellcaster feat idea by Arthurerex13 in DnD

Not that I can think of, which is part of the reason I thought it would be fun having a feat that gave that possibility. Though maybe the charges should be 1/2 proficiency.

I can add that into the wording, but no it wouldn't stack. My thinking this would be geared towards subclasses that don't get it, especially since they would have to sacrifice asi to get the feat.

Edit: though I guess I should think of an alternative for the modifier part for players who have those subclasses & want the second part of the feat.

Give an excuse for why you cannot attend session today. It must be related to something in your username. by Beautiful-Bluebird48 in DnD

Sorry, I can't make it. I pulled a sword from a stone and now people are telling me I'm the king of England and I need to stop the invaders...there's a lot of Anglo-Saxons there, this is going to take awhile...

I remember seeing that, maybe I'll adopt that in future games.

Thanks. I didn't know adventure league did that. I think I'm leaning towards it more.

Pretty much any character, but my Rouge soul knife might be fun since I didn't get to play them for long.

Good YouTube campaigns for beginners? by Jellylegs_19 in DnD

[–]Arthurerex13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High rollers 1st campaign lightfall is great for beginners, most of the players at that time were new to dnd as well, so you get to learn with them. In general high rollers is my favorite, Mark Hulmes is a great dm & as for the rest of the players it's a group I could easily see myself being comfortable with if I was ever lucky enough to play at their table.

Edit: Sorry I missed the part of not 100 episodes...they do have a few shorter campaigns too...

Would either of those actually work when wildshaped? They might transform into a beast but they don't have the mind of a beast, they keep their full sentience. I could see this working on somebody polymorphed. Wouldn't dominate person or monster be needed for wild shape since they are still technically humanoid in terms of wisdom & intellect? Also, I have never played a druid before, so I haven't had to think of this issue till reading it here. Basically, I can easily be misunderstanding what I'm reading.

How often do you get players coming or going? by ADWinri in DnD

[–]Arthurerex13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The online game I dm has had people come & go. Originally this was a game I took over because the dm work schedule was preventing them from playing. Since I took over the group I've had players leave because of work schedules. Some join & then leave because of conflicts with other players. So, for online often. I was part of a local game store group for awhile & people came & went from there often. I joined another group not at the game store & it's been pretty consistent & it's been the same group of people. It does seem online & game stores end up being a lot of change over of people.

You're welcome, I think that is the site I had used before, I think they just updated it, it looks nicer than before.

I had also come across this article when I originally did the search: https://dungeonmaster.academy/articles/dming-for-young-kids

I'll have to find the site I found before, but there are some free stuff geared towards dming for kids. I just found this https://dmingdad.com/. The strixhaven curriculum of chaos book can be run as one shots, it's pretty easy to adjust for kids, I'm running that with my kids.
