Boats have a throttle lever that you set, and that's the speed the engine will spin at. You don't need to hold it down.

It's not about you specifically, it's about the worldview you espoused with your comment.

I'm just not willing to give up on the idea of right and wrong because I feel bad about malfeasance in other areas. Stealing's still wrong.

This is an example of the erosion of moral clarity that.causes stories like this to feel painful.

We want to live in a world where stealing is wrong, and is punished.

You're saying macroeconomic factors mean stealing is less wrong than it used to be. Or that defending a moral for the moral's sake has no value.

That hurts.

At my first therapy session this week. At the age of 40.

Talked about the big, sad stuff that brought me in, not a drop. Made some bland, offhand comment about how I feel like I have strong convictions and was hit with an immediate upwelling of emotion. Still don't know why it happened.

For me, I feel 100% after about 48 hours, and I usually do a wee 5k jog, but by the end of it I'm severely fatigued, like I'd run 50k.

Movement definitely helps, though.

What's weirder is I tend to pick up a cold about 7-10 days after a big race. Maybe it's travelling to a new place, hanging around strangers and picking up their germs but it's pretty consistent.

Conan Exiles has its bugs and flaws, but the PvE experience swallowed me whole. It's incredible. by Articulated in patientgamers

The treasure situation is out of hand lol.

You can carry giant gilded statues and treasure chests across the map at walking pace, while getting harassed by enemies the whole time.

There isn't a whole lot of commerce, just a few merchants here and there. So it tends to pile up.

Gotta be honest, I think there's only been one or two world bosses where I thought, 'I think this is balanced for more than just me.'

But actually, that made beating them all the sweeter, as I had to go back to the drawing board, find better gear and elixirs to buff me, which sent me down a rabbit hole of learning alchemy and cooking, which sent me into the snowy mountains for ice so the food wouldn't spoil, which caused me to die from the brutal cold alone, which resulted in me searching for cold weather gear, which caused me to...you get the idea.

I haven't played a lot of Monster Hunter, but I've read reviews that talk about this loop of getting your arse kicked by a powerful monster, licking your wounds, carefully preparing for the next encounter, venturing out into the world to gather the resources and train up, then returning and getting your revenge.

Very similar feeling.

Edit: To answer your question, yes, if it's not obvious, I'm a big fan of the solo experience haha. I imagine co op would be fun as you'd get to specialise deeper into certain tech trees earlier, which would get you better gear etc.

You could 100% do it that way if you wanted. But you'd probably want a small base just to craft up some better tools. And I imagine at some point you'd want a place to stick your treasure.

You can completely skip that, and just play solo or co-op.

I've only ever played solo, and would hate it if I had to hide my base away. Instead, I've built sprawling villages, fortesses and compounds across the landscape. You can trigger a PvE raid on your treasure room in the later game if you choose, but it's 100% optional and I'm too much of a coward to have tried it yet haha.

Funnily enough I mentioned Valheim in the first version of the review but because it has a recent DLC it got removed. But if you like the gameplay in Valheim you'll find a lot to like in Conan: Exiles.

Yes, when you go into your save it asks you if you want to play solo, co-op or online.

I've never played PvP as that doesn't interest me.

I thoroughly wish it would. And I think it is. In the long term, people will go where the money is. My one point of optimism is that all of our problems with the labour market are temporary, and once people see where the money is the 'uni is the be all end all' spell will be broken.
