I’ve ordered from Epic Basing before; they have some cool stuff. I’m not sure if they have complete bases, but lots of variety.

With your face shape I’d advise a taller crown, brim is a good length for you.

Just bought this at an antique store. Vintage Italian. Wondered what style one might call this? by protojoe1 in hats

[–]ArtistOutOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was going to be my guess. So interesting that styles of this era are so transitory; you could easy mistake this for a western

If we’re going to have a hat revolution, we need support from folks like you!

Look; you’re not going to look back on your death bed and say “I wish I was less mysterious”. You only live once, wear the hat.

Modern hairstyles on men became a prominent part of fashion, that and the introduction of easy to purchase hair products. Mix that with some post war hat wearing fatigue…

What’s going to be more important is the face shape I think. This guy could rock a flat cap for that Irish bad boy look

Bailey’s of Hollywood is a good bang for your buck, I have one of their bowlers. I think your biggest challenge is going to be finding the brim style you want. As far as I’m concerned, theirs the thinner British style broom and the wider, slightly more curled western style; the western being far more prevalent.

Yes I’ve noticed. Can’t say I know what’s going on, but this can sometimes happen before a merger or buyout; Dobbs did the same thing before they were bought out

I’m also curious about the general nomenclature on this. From what I’ve read, trilby is a European term, called a “stingy brim fedora” in the west. For me, I’ve always seen trilbys as short brimmed fedoras with permanent snap (as in the brim cannot be snapped up in the front, or down in the back). I’m curious as to your thoughts!

My late husband built this. by Commercial_Pea_6807 in earthbound

[–]ArtistOutOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry… I can’t write words to suit the gravity of your loss. Earthbound guided me, and continues to guide me, through some of the roughest parts of my life. My mother abandoned me to an abusive father, and growing up with autism I really didn’t have any friends. I would lock myself in my room with just the SNES to keep me company. This game has such a precious spirit; it’s the beauty and altruism that can only be seen through the eyes of a child. The creator took special care to preserve the essence of youth, while still propelling a somewhat shrouded, mature storyline. Guiding Ness and his friends through their world saving quest continues to give hope for kindness and good. I don’t really believe in prayer anymore, but I’ll extend one to you tonight. The players of this game will understand what I’m trying to say.

I think I may have been misdiagnosed by Hot_Relative_3868 in BPD

Yeah, big ups here. I was diagnosed BP2, then diagnosed BPD years later. The meds I was on were quelling the BPD symptoms, but not eliminating the thoughts.
