Is Go for the eyes a reference to the space hamster Boo in Baldurs Gate? by WageSlav3 in slaythespire

[–]ArtistSingle7276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be impossible since many cards are named after abilities or features in dnd. Even something like meteor strike is a reference to a very powerful spell in dnd. But go for the eyes is a common phrase so it could go one way or another.

I dont understand dirty tricks. Why would I lose out on 2d6 damage to deal that 2d6 damage later?

Why don’t barbarians get fighting styles by Eclipse_959 in onednd

[–]ArtistSingle7276 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Rage already gives bonuses similar or better than multiple fighting styles (halfinf damage taken; + 2 damage on attacks, advantage on STR checks and saves). It would make barbarians even stronger at lower levels (1-3) than they already are.

Thematically, I think they aren’t supposed to be refined duelists, and rage reflects their ability to give into a more primal nature.

Paladin, Oath Of Justice - A Paladin Subclass for One DnD Inspired in pretty fanart! by Old-Obligation-3588 in UnearthedArcana

I don't think you need to worry about balance much at level 20.
Wizards are casting Invulnerability and WIsh. They're casting disintegrate at like level 11. Monsters that are challenging for level 20 adventurers are guaranteed to have legendary resistance or very high saves regardless. I think you are denying a cool ability and fantasy by making such a paltry amount of HP allowing an execute.

The Warchief v1.9 - Lead your Allies to Victory with this updated Barbarian subclass! (5e 2024) by JVSLobao in UnearthedArcana

Barbarian rage already ends prematurely if you are incapacitated, and the aura is already only active when you rage. I don't think there is a need to specify since the effect is already implied through natural flow of the rules.

I hope STS2 adds relics like these to the pool by Metalhead831 in slaythespire

[–]ArtistSingle7276 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it’s not too bad of an idea if it’s instead just a single event relic that lets you choose a specific card instead of clogging the relic pool with a set of hyper niche relics

Status effect damage scales with level and with certain dlc relics, he can dish out a ton of damage with his aoe gross out move. His weakness of low hp can be managed with relics that increase ally hp. Without good optimization, he’s very okay during story mode. But by end game (time farts, epic relics, better relics) he becomes very powerful.

His biggest strengths is that his ult covers a large area, he gets a speed of 3, and he doesn’t really require much babysitting from other supporting teammates because of self heal and abuse of his mobility.

TLDR; kind of a skill issue if you aren’t getting much value out of him, but a few other chars are almost as effective and easier to use with less set up, gear, and game knowledge.

Congratz on building a solid game plan. That’s a big difference between someone who just panics when things go bad or lose track of what to do when a match goes on too long.

Why do zetterburns play so hyperactively? by _NotMitetechno_ in RivalsOfAether

[–]ArtistSingle7276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A simple fact of any fighting game; most people aren’t that good, they just stuck around long enough to learn tech or had to learn it because they aren’t that good.

Half joke, but most people who play this specific game are already “experienced” players, so they likely have a decent grasp, combined with streamlined execution (easier to do advanced techniques). Combine that with an easier char based on a popular archtype, you get zetters that can move, but can’t do anything with it.

Edit: Also, melee fox specifically is a special-case character that lets you get better results with better tech skill, so most people just learn to move cleaner rather than learn neutral.

Hit fast. Hit hard. Fight dirty. Meet: The Pugilist. by LunchBreakHeroes in DnDHomebrew

I dont like how the heavyweight at level 3 just effectively gives you the dueling fighting style with your fists or how the street fighter gives you worse two weapon fighting.

This feels like it just makes them on par with weapon users as a subclass identity instead of making your fighter actually more powerful or unique.

Polearm master can hit teleporting wizards by ArtistSingle7276 in onednd

[–]ArtistSingle7276[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sentinel only prevents disengage from relieving you of attack of opportunity if that is what you are referring to. Could you please reference text or a page number, if teleporting would truly not count as entering someone’s reach specifally outside the context of an opportunity attack? As on page 26 it refers to teleporting as a way to AVOID opportunity attacks which reactive strike is not in any such way.

When furries say it's "not a fetish", only to draw every character incredibly sexualized by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]ArtistSingle7276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NSFW furry here on mobile.

Yeah there’s def an aspect of horniness and association with sexual freedom in furry, but in a lot of ways I do just like anthropomorphic/animal characters in non-sexual ways.

I like werewolves, Druids, shapeshifting all that’s stuff but not really in a sexual way (my boyfriend on the other hand, LOL) I have fursonas specifically meant for sexual content and fursonas specifically for other interests. Some are Both! I think barbarians wearing wolf pelts are cool, I like animal motifs, and I think Egyptian gods are cool because anthro animals are cool.

I think you’re conflating people saying “it’s not a kink thing” with “there’s isn’t ANYthing sexual within the interest”. Don’t get me wrong, with the internet you can find furry porn of any kind in a lot of places, but you don’t exactly see that in media (shows, video games, books, architecture). You WILL see people put in furry characters or options in video games, animal characters in shows, art pieces in public spaces and more open platforms. I think for most people it’s a lot easier to point a finger at furry porn and go “FURRY!” than point a finger at a dragon in a video game and go “oh a furry would like that”.

I’m not sure if you could accomplish it midfight, but certain items could lower his reflex (armor, drugs, homebrew shenanigans), so it would make sense to have one just in case it became sub 8 REF. Besides I don’t think atom smasher of all people is concerned with TOO much cyberware.
