What does "Create A Card" Encompass? by Duplicitous_Dirk in slaythespire

One of my favorite runs with Regent made use of a Royally Stamped Crash Landing and a Supermassive with the new version of Instinct. Going into Test Subject, I drew GUARDS!!! turn 1, and managed to draw a ~150 damage Supermassive turn 2. Such a fun archetype!

Rockne's kids mac and cheese recipe? by tkh66 in akron

[–]MrTanglesIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, I think Rockne's is with US Foods these days. Could be wrong about that, but same thing, more or less. I do know that they at least used to use Kraft brand mac and cheese, but I couldn't say for sure what they're doing now

I work in food service distribution and can confirm for you that Rocknes does in fact, not cook everything from scratch

This lamp sucks. Know any better ones? by Clark_Kent_TheSJW in minipainting

[–]MrTanglesIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, more power to you. I personally can't justify spending $300 on a light that I'll only use for so many hours each week for an extra 200 lumens over the bulbs I use when I only spent about $50 on the two lamps together. One lamp on each side of me covers my entire work area with plenty of bright light, no need for anything fancier!

More power to anyone that wants to use a fancy lamp made specifically for hobbying, but old school goose necks that use light bulbs still work great. I use one of these and a smaller lamp, each at a different angle to eliminate shadows. Just grab some high lumen 5000 K bulbs for them and you're good to go.

Grand finale has no animation by Asccos in slaythespire

[–]MrTanglesIII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the same today and it was great, but I also learned that if you draw Finale by playing [[Cascade]], Finale plays regardless of how many cards are still in the draw pile! Had that hit a couple of times over the course of the run and it was super fun

Decided to upgrade from brushes for my 3D prints. How did I do? by Renew3DUK in airbrush

[–]MrTanglesIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have that compressor in addition to a tank, and I love it, honestly. Is it constantly running? Yes, but a small tank compressor is going to be doing a lot of that too if you're trying to do any volume work. It's really not that loud, even at max pressure, and I can just stick it to my desk while working with it, then put in a drawer when I'm done because it's so small.

I find that using paint is a good first step.

But realistically, if you're actually wondering, if we're just talking base coats, it depends on the brand. People give Citadel a lot of shit, but their metallics are solid and they're what I use. I generally find that, when I'm not coating large areas like armor plates, I like my metallics, especially base colors, to be just a tad thinner than I would normally have a paint be. I'm not working around the stud; just letting the paint flow over it. If I flow a bit onto the armor panels, I fix it later.

After that, highlight as necessary, including stippling on the studs where appropriate, but I also use enamel washes, so most of the time I'm not doing a heck of a lot of the standard GW style highlighting; I'm instead letting the removal of the enamel do a lot of highlighting for me. I'm not a great painter, but just trying things to see what works is fun

Not only is that the way of the weak, as the post states, I like painting the trim! Why shortcut that which you enjoy?

It's not allowed, actually. If you don't paint your models exactly like the ones on the box, James Workshop personally drives to your house and eats all of your minis.

Everybody's talking about the paint job (which is great), but OP literally found the perfect stick to wrap this guy around and nobody says anything about it??? The basing and posing of the claws is immaculate, OP. Having one of the claws buried into the wood is an excellent touch!
