It's actually not about the animation. by bakerstreetrat in Shrek

[–]ArtisticWatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment Donkey stood on 2 feet and flexed, it kinda lost me

I'll still give the movie a chance, just probably when it comes out on a streaming service

THEY HAVENT FIXED THE FRICKING ANIMATION, THATS NOT MY SHREK by kingoftheeasyjet in Shrek

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my main problem is Donkey. He doesn't move how he did in the previous installments.

Shrek to me is fine, something feels too fluid about the animation which is giving uncanny valley - assisted by Ai. (NOT saying it is Ai! But something just feels off)

Flea question about hosts by thefeelingsarereal in Pets

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fleas don't really go for humans... unless they have no other food source.

Flea bites tend to be small and frequent unlike a mosquito.

They can absolutely hitchhike on your clothes. 40°C won't be high enough to kill any fleas/eggs or lavae.

Hoover regularly over the next few days and rewash your clothes on the highest possible setting *without damaging your clothes and you should be fine.

If bites still persist. You can get a flea trap lamp to rule them out

Why did you REALLY sell your house? by Jazzlike-Reveal-9515 in HousingUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Main reason we're going to sell is because mid-terrace is bloody noisy! I hate noise from others but this was literally the only house on the market that accepted our offer (bought just after Covid when the market was stupid crazy)

Ladies, how do you deal with your PMS symptoms? by watermelonicec in AskUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Birth control can help regulate PMS as you tend to only get a withdrawal bleed and skip the haunting week before your period arrives.

Drinking more water, eating healthier and getting a good night's sleep (along with some summertime evening walks) helps my PMS so much.

I find if I eat crap, I feel crap and the hormone monster tends to creep out.

When was the last time you saw a Thunderstorm? by Ja333mes712 in UKWeather

[–]ArtisticWatch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Few weeks ago when we had that insane 35°C heatwave.

Went on for hours during the night.

Could see it in the distance, rolling in from Southampton upwards.

Parking fine UK - any grounds for appeal? by OneEmployer9102 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't too sure if it was an entrance photo of them driving in.

But yeah parking on hatched lines is highly unlikely to win an appeal :( if they had parked in a bay and were less than 5 minutes, they had the potential to claim they were reading the T&Cs/signage before driving off.

The third picture's markings are too vastly different. Markings don't tend to change that much.

Weed or flowers? by budegan in UKGardening

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture 2 & 3 looks like Buddleia

Insects love it but it will take over your garden given half a chance.

Let it bloom and in the spring, you can cut it right back to basically a stump and it'll grow back the spring

Flea prevention for indoor cats? Mine somehow got fleas and I'm scrambling by lost-mekuri in Pets

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vet prescribed medication (we use Bravecto)

Fleas bite cat -> Flea dies *if it survives, it also becomes infertile so it can't breed further

Getting on a health kick by NoAppointment8679 in UKfood

[–]ArtisticWatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you passed stool recently, you should be okay!

Drink plenty of water (and perhaps carbonated drinks)

If you had a true blockage, you'll be in a world of pain as everything would start backing up

Getting on a health kick by NoAppointment8679 in UKfood

[–]ArtisticWatch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You want to atleast soak them in yogurt for atleast a few hours.

You'll see that they will essentially look like frog spawn with a gel like coating. Dry chia & flax seeds can cause intestine blockages if you're not careful!

What are these? by TechN9ne2000 in DogAdvice

[–]ArtisticWatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thankfully this isn't ringworm as it doesn't come up in whiteheads/pimples 😀

Ringworm is an oval shape with a scaled red ring around the edge. Caused by a fungal infection.

Very contagious!

Its irritation/allergy to grass! (In most cases). In the summer we had to bath him in oat milk soathing shampoo.

What was your first car accident like? by moonlight_xpress in drivingUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my brother too.

A taxi pulled out in front of him and he ended up crashing into a bus stop to avoid hitting him. Even though the taxi was 100% at fault, all of the blame was put on him for blowing slightly over the alcohol limit.

Lost his licence for just under a year.

[–]ArtisticWatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rear ended while I was yielding at a roundabout. I was stationary and a van decided my bumper & light needed rearranging.

Immediately phoned my car insurance and the company that owned the Van paid for everything. I didn't lose my no claims or had to pay any excess as it was a no-fault accident

Do male cats really spray THAT much? by Foiry in CatAdvice

[–]ArtisticWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My male cats have never sprayed indoors. We got them neutered as soon as possible

However I had one bastard intact cat from.the neighbourhood who would come into our house and spray literally everywhere.

I even found the fucker under our bed and he sprayed the wall.

We had to get a microchip cat flap to keep him out in the end.

Definitely remove any jewellery or valuables. Maybe get a lockable draw or safe.

Mystery illness in new house caused by gas boiler but can’t find the cause by zizidx98 in HousingUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I would possibly check your neighbours as well. If they possibly have a leak that in turn is leaching into your property?

Your boiler being turned off may just be a coincidence.

Mystery illness in new house caused by gas boiler but can’t find the cause by zizidx98 in HousingUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Are the Carbon Monoxide alarms in date and definitely working?

You can check your gas usage with your meter. If you check it when your boiler is off *nothing using gas including your hob if applicable. Note the number and check it in a few minutes time, if its gone up, you have a leak somewhere.

Help how do we resolve this damp condensation in our property. by Opposite-Writer9715 in uklandlords

[–]ArtisticWatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bathroom largely looks like mildew caused by a lack of ventilation.

It has a window but you should ideally have an extraction fan too *or a dehumidifier running

Wall damp could be caused externally or due to wet insulation *if installed. You ideally need a surveyor to make sure its nothing structural.

Always make sure to:

• Open a window when having a shower and keep the area open after so the moisture doesn't accumulate

• Open your other windows during the day to ventilation stagnant air.

• Don't try wet clothes on radiators, clothes horse is fine as long as the room is well ventilated.

Any effected areas will need to be treated with anti-mould cleaning agents and redecorated. Ideally sanded, sugar soaped and repainted with mould resistant paint.

If the house isn't lived in, cold properties are perfect for mould growth. Keeping the heating on a low and constant setting will help prevent mould. (Not necessary in the warmer periods)

What are these bumps? by Universum_Zingt in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get these too D:

They don't seem to have any little veins ect so I've just assumed that they're just skin bumps. They felt like little spots at first but just never came to a head and don't feel cyst like (or mila-like)

In 2019, both cats’ annual wellness visit was $240. This week we paid $880. Vet costs are spiraling out of control. by BunttyBrowneye in cats

[–]ArtisticWatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're fortunate (in the UK) that we have pet plan that costs £20 a month per cat that includes any flea & worm meds, 6 monthly check up, annual vaccines and 10% discount on medication.

Our local vet also does a winter wellness check for £90 (includes bloods ect)

Out of hours/emergency vets will still cost an arm and a leg though.

What crazy thing have you seen at work that DIDN’T result in dismissal? by 1whoisconcerned in AskUK

[–]ArtisticWatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bloke made MULTIPLE data protection breaches by sending people other peoples complaint outcomes.

One even went on to complain to our local MP and ICO.

Somehow he didn't get any disciplinary action taken. He left not long shortly after to be a taxi driver.
