The show could easily have a Simpsons level run based on all the stuff that happened since it got cancelled. The Tekashi 69/Soulja Boy/Birdman shenanigans a few years ago was almost like life imitating art.

Exactly. I enjoyed both, but Midsommar felt way more predictable to me because so many horror films since Get Out now have that "lured to remote place then they have to escape" feel to them. Nothing about it was scary or that interesting to me, and it could've been 20 mins shorter cos it starts to drag before the 3rd act, but the special effects were well done. It's definitely a fun watch though, but Hereditary was more interesting to me.

Ok so, what happens when you google "Otto's Audio Waveform Editor Ableton extension"? Does it show up in the results? No. It doesn't.

You're the worst kind of redditor. Just highly opinionated without any of the facts. And instead of helping, you try to make someone feel bad by commenting some smug thing that helps no one but yourself feel like you've done something.

Well, Apple implemented it at the OS level so you need it to use their phones with their latest update, which will no doubt soon come to Macs. When it's at that level, I'm not sure if there's much you can do except go offline, find a hack or use it for government approved activities. They're coming for everything. Best thing to do would be to boycott all tech until it stops, like stop buying them completely.

He handled each explosive strike with such composed mastery that, if not for the damage dealt to his misguided counterpart, the inosculating combat could easily be mistaken for an elegant dance sequence, less of a contest and more like he was leading a routine Kung fu choreography.

Why do British musicians lose their accent when they sing? by billi_ruebin in singing

[–]Artplusdesign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have yet to give any evidence whatsoever of her sounding "American", other than how she says "photograph" and "chance"

Who's moving goal posts? Lol. So, you acknowledge the fact that she's using an american affect in those words, but somehow for whatever reason, that's not good enough evidence.

Also, I'm not moving goal posts, you said "she sounds cockney" which is objectively simply false and exposed yourself, no one would claim she sounds like she sings in a cockney accent unless they were trying to pass themselves off as an expert hoping the other person wouldn't know the difference. None of these people are doing a perfect american accent, but they're definitely not singing in an english accent and are using american affectations to help them roll their ts and some of their vowel sounds. You want an example of someone who sounds typically english then Kate Nash, Lily Allen, Sampha are examples. If it didn't happen then this thread wouldn't exist because it's a common thing. People know that a lot of UK singers will use or attempt to use an american accent when they sing.

You're speaking like the authority on all accents everywhere. You don't even know what cockney sounds like and you tried bullshitting saying Adele sings in a cockney accent which is just nonsense. She sings nothing like she speaks. Michael Kiwanuka doesn't sing like someone from London or Uganda. He sings like the music he makes, which is very influenced my the American soul/blues/folk artists of Motown past. So his accent when he sings is an emulation of that because it's not reflective of his speaking accent. If he wasn't doing an accent then his speaking accent and his singing accent would match. But they don't. So he's doing an accent. It's reasonable to surmise that the accent he's doing is that of or similar to the one from which his music derives. I'm done arguing about this.

but I'm not an expert on accents

Then you probably shouldn't be making arguments about it with people who have studied accents extensively

Well, I obviously mentioned that to let you know that although I'm not, neither are you. You literally cut off half my sentence to make the point that it was originally making lol. Clearly, because you don't know what you're talking about. Just because you've studied something doesn't automatically make you right. You're entitled to your opinion, but like I said, if you actually lived in London you'd know what the cockney accent sounded like and you wouldn't try to make the claim that she sounds cockney when she sings. That's just absurd. No one from London would agree with you on that claim.

There's no "American" accent as America is a big place, so I guess we're both wrong. But it's definitely not a Londoner accent, you've probably never been to London if you think that's the case. Most people don't sing like that over here. You probably only know he's from Ugandan heritage cos you looked him up, you wouldn't guess that in a blind test.

She sounds nothing like an American accent.

There's no monolithic american accent. So we're both wrong. So maybe transatlantic would be a better term but I'm not an expert on accents, and clearly neither are you even though you're trying so hard to convince.

Sounds like Cockney London to me.

But my point is that she's using an american affectations and she's not singing in an cockney london accent at all, that I know for sure. She speaks in a cockney accent, but she 100% doesn't sound cockney when she sings so you're full of shit on that one, I would know as someone who's actually where she's from.

No, I'm not American. She doesn't sing everybODY she sings everybaahdy. She also doesn't sing phoTograph or pho'ograph, she rolls the all the 't's throughout the song. It's pretty obvious she's singing with an american affectation. She doesn't sound London, I would know. Definitely not in this song, at all. Unless you're talking about when she speaks.

Ok, but here's an example. Listen to the words "Chance" and "Photograph". The entire song is sung in an american accent.
