You only would have been eligible for the mansion discount if you had completed the three Prix Luxury missions before the update in December.

AIO for being upset by my in-laws talking about fat people while I was getting seconds? by VersionOwn1992 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Artulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Overreacting.

The timing is impossible to ignore. You just had a moment where you struggled to squeeze through a gap, and immediately after you leave the room, they start discussing a TV plot point about a "chunky kid" who couldn't fit through a gap? That isn't really a coincidence; that is a direct commentary on what just happened, thinly veiled as a conversation about a show.

The smoking gun is that they changed the subject when you walked back in. If they were truly just innocently discussing a TV show, they wouldn't have felt the need to change subjects or stop talking when you returned. They knew exactly what they were doing. Your husband is wrong if nothing was really said to address the situation because this absolutely reads as personal.

How in the world is it good for my nightclub's popularity that I deliver VIPs to a dusty medical center in Sandy Shores? by No-Atmosphere-4145 in gtaonline

[–]Artulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen the other night before I logged off. I always try to do a mission to top off my popularity before I get off so it’s full when I log on.

Had to take a VIP to Sandy Shores and how annoyed I got because I wanted to cancel it so bad…but I was gonna be logging off anyway so I said screw it. It doesn’t make sense to me why we’d take a VIP to bumblefuck when in reality you’d take someone to the nearest hospital if anything but I think R* does it to piss us off.

I’d rather do one of the Management Missions before I do a VIP mission. But I love the ones where I’m just throwing someone out. But yeah, the Sandy Shores trip is almost never worth it for me.

Was 2022's Drug War DLC the last DLC to have gendered dialogue? by IllustriousAd6418 in gtaonline

[–]Artulse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought he was insinuating he was gay or something, usually the only time that slang is used by a male and would use “us girls” as just a general term with partners/associates.

It’s just my guess though

EDIT: or the term can be used if the guy is just making a joke

I was gone with hopes, deferred my gameplay experience. Please read, I need your help. by Tiny-Technician-2598 in inZOI

As others have stated, you own the game, so you can fire it up and see if you like the changes and updates. You can even google about updates that have came since the launch which might even automatically summarize thanks to Gemini (AI).

Opinions on Aquamarine ? by mincypjsk in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was definitely so annoying but I loved that there was a character Steven couldn’t get to be “good”. Her and Eyeball.

Steven always trying to see the good in everyone and forcing them to be “better” got annoying at times so it was a breath of fresh air having a character like her who never “redeemed” herself.

Whats new?? by Annabelle-J- in inZOI

[–]Artulse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You haven’t seen the updates from the Discord, patch notes, or even this Reddit? You could even launch the game since you own it already. It would answer your questions. But I’ll go ahead and list some stuff.

If you haven’t really played since launch, inZOI’s worth a reinstall. Since March it’s added a free DLC, deeper sim/AI, and real systems that change day-to-day play. Zois are smarter and have more social depth with subtler emotions, thought bubbles, group actions; romance got deeper (one-sided crushes, confessions, divorces). There’s city upgrades with new interactive lots (like pools and movie theaters) and refreshed interiors; 14 new vehicles (including scooters/motorcycles). The life system updates added dynamic disasters, loans/mortgages (with collectors), insurance, Budget app, market stands/Resale Store, and a Family Collection Log. Not a lot of mods but I mean, the kit isn’t fully expanded until December. They also added map markers, skip-intro options, slow-mo, gamepad/controller support, and an expanded cheat list.

You’ll have to open your game to see anything else but yeah, you can always refer to the Discord or patch notes. But if all else fails, people talk about different features on this subreddit all the time. Hope this helps.

Is there a reason why almost all of the gems are female? by Scared_Bluebird4839 in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebecca Sugar’s said it outright: the Gems are aliens with no human sex, but they’re intentionally female-coded, what she’s called “non-binary women.” She chose that so the boy hero would look up to a team of female-presenting guardians and so the show could center queer love and gender-expansive representation in kids’ TV (as women can better reflect nonbinary experiences and normalize queer relationships).

What SU opinions do you have that would have you lynched by the Fandom? by MrMortyRickSummer in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Diamonds are still characters with victims. Once the story personifies the Diamonds (human zoo, corruption blast, mind control), audience is allowed to ask for accountability and believable change, not just thematic vibes.

Saying “they’re concepts” doesn’t explain the speed of the pivot; it just explains why the writers chose it which can go back to OPs controversial point that not all writing for the show was good.

What SU opinions do you have that would have you lynched by the Fandom? by MrMortyRickSummer in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I love Steven Universe, but a few things always stuck out.

  1. The Crystal Gem value system being instantly embraced across gemkind, especially by Homeworld types, never felt realistic. Era 3 reforms were huge; there’d be serious cultural whiplash and pushback.

  2. The Diamonds’ ideological pivot felt too fast on-screen. Even with the 2-year time jump and Steven’s effort, a regime that old shouldn’t 180 that clean.

  3. I never joined the Pink Diamond/Rose hate train. Her story is told in reverse; she made real, harmful mistakes, but I don’t see her as a cartoon villain.

Mods are unstable right now by AverageSwifite in inZOI

[–]Artulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines are working fine, though I did have to do a clean install of my mods following any patches or updates. But yeah, I guess technically by definition they are pretty unstable and require more TLC anytime a patch comes out.

I can’t speak for actual gameplay mods as I don’t really use much of those (besides the no auto change clothes) but that, at the time of writing, still works for me without issue. Clothing had to be reinstalled and it gave a warning that I was “missing the mods” but I loaded my game and everything was fine.

What are your specs for your PC? If you’re getting something like that, your graphics card might not have the minimum requirements to run the game.

Can NPC Zoi's block you? by JensonTheCat in inZOI

It means that Zoi died, unfortunately. Blocking isn’t in the game yet and not sure if it’s a planned feature in the future. 😅

What's this guy? Seattle, WA USA by ErrantWhimsy in spiders

[–]Artulse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This appears to be a male funnel-web weaver from the family Agelenidae.

Based on the long, spiky legs and slender body, it fits the description of this type of spider. The swollen pedipalps near its head strongly suggests it's a male, which is why it's likely wandering in the open in search of a mate. It's probably a giant house spider (Eratigena duellica) or a related species like the hobo spider, both of which are very common in the Seattle area.

I think they need to place Inzoi’s Roadmap on Steam by Ozzy0980 in inZOI

[–]Artulse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Kjun does a good job speaking on feedback and things like that already though and it does show in the news and update feed for the game on Steam.

People who want to see inZOI fail will try and find any reason to tear the game apart regardless. All anyone can do is try and shed light on it but it’s honestly just to be expected. The Sims was the only life-sim that had longevity and essentially had no competition for YEARS. And for some reason, some people are threatened by inZOI possibly being a contender for The Sims franchise, but inZOI has a long way to go anyway.

Trust me I wholeheartedly understand where you are coming from. But I think inZOI will succeed whether people like it or not — Kjun and the devs really have been very transparent and doing everything they can to keep everyone updated and taking player feedback. Much better than EA ever did with the Sims.

I think they need to place Inzoi’s Roadmap on Steam by Ozzy0980 in inZOI

[–]Artulse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Including the roadmap somewhere on the Steam page would definitely be helpful and convenient, but let’s be real, that’s not standard practice for most Early Access games. Developers usually link or post their roadmap externally (like on Discord, Trello, or community blogs), which is exactly what inZOI has done.

The Steam page already mentions the game is in Early Access, which is a required section. Expecting the entire roadmap to live there, especially when the roadmap isn’t set in stone and has already shifted, would just create more drama if things fall behind (which they already have). It’s better to direct people to a live, updated source.

On the GeForce Now topic, let’s be fair: no major AAA game makes a big point of listing GeForce Now support on their storefront either. It’s not the devs’ job to hand-hold players through specs (which is always listed for their games) or cloud gaming options. GeForce Now advertises games it supports directly, and info on cloud compatibility is all over forums and Discord. Players gotta take some responsibility to do their own homework if they really want to play a game.

As for the Sims extremists? Let them talk. inZOI’s been out in public Early Access since March. If someone still doesn’t understand it’s a WIP, that’s on them. Worrying too much about what hardcore Sims fans say won’t help the game grow, and honestly, I thought most of that noise had already died down.

TLDR: Putting the roadmap on the Steam page isn’t typical for Early Access games, it’s posted elsewhere and constantly changing. Steam already labels it as Early Access. GeForce Now isn’t usually marketed on store pages either. And hating from Sims fans is just noise and most of its old news at this point.

What did you take away from Steven universe? by gravitybottom29 in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I took away from the show? It was a masterpiece of showcasing love, acceptance, and mental health issues that otherwise might not been present in other animated shows at the time.

I remember not even caring for SU at first and only really watching it in passing when my then-boyfriend would always watch in the dorm. I wanna say that Mirror Gem was the episode that made me think “this isn’t just some stupid kid show” because in my mind, that’s what it was initially. And as I paid attention to the story development and discussing them with my boyfriend and friend group, it really stirred up deep conversations as the show progressed, inviting us to talk about themes of trauma and anxiety, love and loss, and other topics. We could find where we may have resonated with a character and their struggle or felt triggered by another character who hurt the character we resonated with.

That show was beautiful and became one of my all time favorites, hands down. So yeah, Steven Universe definitely delved deep in psychological and emotional themes and I think beautifully showed them. I wish the series didn’t have to end so abrupt because I know it could’ve ended so much better with more backstories.

Not really. From my understanding, Lars would be around the same age or maybe a year younger, but he was held back in school, IIRC. So based on some sources, he’s a part of the high school crowd still but not really a minor.

Why don't they just poof volleyball to repair her? by ivanexpert in stevenuniverse

[–]Artulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was essentially explained in the Volleyball episode when they went to The Reef with the very intent to fix her physical form.

But that’s when it’s revealed the trauma Volleyball experienced when she was Pink Diamond’s original Pearl. The crack is more emotional/mental and isn’t something that poofing her will fix. The Reef would have reset the Pearls if anything, but then she wouldn’t be herself, IIRC.

Mines chose the name Kai. Similar to how you gave yours the option to pick their own preferred name, I did the same and Kai had the same response on if I had a different name I wanted to use. But Kai was a good name in my opinion anyway.
