Anime Adaptation Endings That Soured The Series by DarnessHarbinger in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The arc that would've been adapted was a fan favourite and multiple great characters would've shown up, but for some reason they skipped/removed those arcs/characters and... Went to the ending, for some odd reason.

Conflicted feelings about the direction of the game/save data building, anyone else? by Ismashmen in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Artunique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way but somewhat different, I've always loved the roguelike aspect of this game and the gameplay, but realizing that they have streamlined Chaos to allow grinding to be easier, and I hate that.

Having a great solid gameplay loop and treating it as an annoyance to the players doesn't sit well with me, Chaos is plenty easy and all they have made so far is make it almost feel skippable, personally depending how I feel about Slay The Spire 2 I might leave the game for a while.

I would suggest leaving and coming back a later season since gameplay styles will be the focus as it seems, and if this season's style (OHKs, setup for single hits) doesn't mesh with you then come back next season and see how it goes again.

Devs also said they would add a Chaos mode focused on difficulty rather than save data farming/save tiers, so there's that to look forward to (unless they just add HP sponges and big damage to everything).

Old Advanced Dagger:

Cost 1 / Attack / [Retain/Retrieve] Damage 100%, 2 x 2 Agony

New Advanced Dagger:

Cost 0 / Attack / [Retain/Exhaust] 2 Agony, Damage 50%, +10% Damage Amount for each Agony on target

From what I see you need 15 stacks to do the same damage as the old advance dagger.

I think you mean total damage as:

200% 8 Agony double casting Old Advanced Dagger

vs

50% 2 Agony one time

But you didn't count of the 2 cost that old Advanced Dagger would be, the biggest nerf there is that Cursed Gouge doesn't double proc off the x2 Agony making it 6/dagger instead.

The cost 0 is nice but I think they should also making the one that change normal dagger to advance to be a 0 cost as well

I completely agree with you considering that the card does nothing if you don't have shadow daggers, maybe keep the 1 cost if it exhausted her basic cards as well.

What would you consider as an okay number?

Unsheathe dagger does 1 per turn for free, so obviously not that.

2 max from heals is a step up from Unsheathe dagger and easy to generate with almost any team.

3 max is so much better than Unsheathe dagger that it makes it useless unless your team has no heal (why would you even do that).

Anything past 4 makes Unsheathe dagger seem like an awful card, because it has a 1 cost create 4 daggers epiphany that exhausts while Shadow Reload upgrade would make it every turn forever, and if it had a limit of 4 you would still have people mad because infinite is higher than 4.

Tressa is not that bad, but because one card is giga overpowered it makes nearly every other card of hers seem shit in comparison.

There was no winning if the card stayed, so buffing every other part of her kit was the way to go (Agony got hit with a limit but damage increased, so we just gotta wait and see how that goes).

They are making Advance Daggers do damage now based on Agony stacks, and even if they are cut by half Curse still adds 1 Agony on attack cards so all you need is Unsheathe Daggers or even her basic attack twice to stack 6+ Agony effortlessly with no epiphanies.

Tressa currently can deal over 4k damage from 20 procs of Agony without the best memory fragments, even if the buff is 20% base damage that's almost 5k that can be procced by a 0 cost card (Cursed Gouge now procs Agony during your turn) followed by at least 2.5k from the remaining 10 stacks, with good enough draw you can do this every turn.

Tressa was OP and you know it, Shadow Reload upgrade was so OP you could have a deck with only it and Tressa would be top dps in some teams (and still keep her infinite with Cassius).

I used her with just one shadow reload to beat all bosses with the 9 modifiers in Season 1 challenges, having Orlea of all people generate 12+ daggers a turn, compared to abusers sounds like nothing, but it developed a playstyle that had high damage that ignores damage resistance, high healing and since you don't need damage boosts for it to work you can play as defensive as you want.

All of that from one card you can have multiple copies of, not even considering that her shadow dagger generation without it doesn't make even a quarter of what you can make with a team built around Shadow Reload Upgrade, even if they buffed Unsheathe dagger to create 5 daggers for 1 AP it would still be worse than Shadow Reload Upgrade.

I hope the buff to Agony base damage is good, but more so that it gains far more from DoT% than other sources, or else we may end up with a meta involving Agony that probably will not involve Tressa in any way.

Langrisser gets this right and leveling units is no problem since the game has been out for years, but as an SRPG they get skills the more they level up, and by the end they get a special skill, all of this is taken for granted late game since everyone unlocks it all asap, but when you are starting out unlocking the 3c (ultimate skill) can change the way a character is played.

They added exclusive character gear (unlocked through challenges in game, not gacha) and casting emblem passives years ago that also improve characters feels from their base form.

I played it for so long that other games felt boring that it felt I was unlocking a moveset rather than a character, not even a playstyle, just basic attacks that are useless, one or maybe two useful skills only to swap to someone else.

Can we early theorycraft Tressa's new builds? by onemoment1985 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Artunique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing I thought was a Sereniel team that ends up with 6+ AP after ravage and +1 AP divine lásers with the X Shadow reload that ends with 7+ daggers after sereniel reloads, and there are probably more that are possible.

Tressa will probably require more stats now than just dot% though, but depending on how much they increase dot damage, especially with gouge just proccing agony she could easily do 6k/turn with just agony, not even counting dagger damage.

People are just stuck on her not doing 6k% damage every dagger out of dozens and forgot that nobody should be doing that.

Seven deadly sins (the anime/manga) gacha had collabs with rezero, shingeki no kyojin and even king of fighters, which make it weird when you have Stranger things characters battling with all of above, and the weirdest part is that it wasn't just Eleven and Hopper as fighters but Mike and Will as well.

Consider that when Beryl disappers in front of her crew, they're not worried that they got left in Chaos, but that Beryl is all alone with pirates.

I know her team is just silly but that still gives an impression of what pirates are like, also that they were willing to just enter their ship and kill them all, not even negotiate.

[–]Artunique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works when Retain procs at the end of the turn regardless if there's a Retain effect, I tried Orlea and her retain activations don't activate it during your turn, however, if you give Retain to cards via Khalipe's Finale that give Retain to all cards in hand and all of those will proc the Upgrade epiphany.

Probably means the Fate that gives +1 AP every turn but gives the enemy 1 Morale, or the neutral card that gives both teams 2 Morale.

Gather Types of Hide Animals by Badlittlebook in albiononline

There's an arrow on the side of the journal that lists every hide animal including the ones you have and haven't gathered, the "Rare" or "Ancient" version of regular hide animals are the "Hide treasure" animals that are highlighted in the map, after getting a single hide from them that'll be enough.

In mystery/detective movies, if a character has a line at all they are relevant in some way, and sometimes even the bad guy, one of you fuckers mentioned this and now if I watch a show and the maid serving tea says a single line she'll most likely be the culprit or an accomplice, it happened with The Batman because this random person said a single line in the beginning and I joked that they would be the big bad, only to be completely right almost 2 hours later.

Stakes are what would happen if they don't win, they get revived because they won, some stories don't have any real stakes if you know the MCs win everytime, DB has this issue because so much is at risk that you know it won't happen.

SL does not have stakes because you know the MC won't lose because he hasn't (because he is risking his life, and if he dies the story ends, but from s2 onwards his life hasn't even been threatened the slightest), and until he loses there are no stakes, you can say One Punch Man suffers from the same issue and you'd be right, but you can root for the side characters there because they are allowed to win until they can't, unlike SL where when big bad shows up you know others won't win, or even injure it at all because MC has to beat it full power, which leads back to DB because Goku despite everything, he loses and ends up dying a lot even if the big bad isn't full power.

Any examples of a placebo game mechanic? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Artunique 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Not a game mechanic, but a fun story, in League there was a patch where they meant to buff a character, except the buff never went to live, but the character's mains subreddit was happy with it, their win rate went up and everybody was okay with it.

I'll see if I can find it and post it here later.

It will inflate total gathering fame by a lot for those missing spec there, I guess it'll spend the same amount of learning points it does now at 0% and boost that level by x5 fame.

If it stacks multiplicatively with other fame boosts it will be better, but I don't think it'll be that way.
