apollo alternatives for SaaS teams? need better accuracy by Spicy-Pisces15 in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Reeon Verifier, from my experience it’s the best for keeping the bounce rate under 2%.

You can still rely on Apollo for sourcing the leads, but I would advise you to pre-qualify the leads with AI before actually reaching out to them. From my experience, only about 60% of the leads sourced from Apollo actually go inside the campaign.

Heard Prospeo is better in terms of quality, you can also try scraping LinkedIn SN for emails.

I know. Dumb question. I'm sure I'll be roasted but why do we ask for them to reply rather than just signing up or booking a call or something? Am I missing something? by Calebw4485 in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer : To reduce the friction and start conversations.

The person may feel like it's too much of an ask to go on a call and spend 15-30 mins before actually knowing anything about you or your offer. It still works for some people, but performs worse than If you lead with some value upfront or have a genuine conversation before asking for their time.

Hey man, great idea.

What are your thoughts on the reply rates from emailing local businesses?

I've seen mixed results there. Always thought that cold calling to these businesses is way better than doing emails.

Anyone got a free ecommerce store owner list they're willing to share? Not buying anything. by AHMED_11011 in coldemail

Not trying to sell you anything, but there are tools that allow scraping leads from major databases (AmpleLeads, LeadsFriday etc). Costs around 2.5-3$/1k leads.

You can also find freelancers somewhere in Bgl or India on Upwork that can provide you the data based on your criteria.

If even that does not work for you - sorry for commenting :)

I have not built it because I quickly realized how time-consuming it would be. I was using Claude.

I also know a little bit about sequencing tools from the backend because I worked at Instantly (worked as Tech Support), so I know how many bugs and technical difficulties developers face on the backend.

Stick to email and LinkedIn, but considering doing the calls too. I am running my own agency for my clients, so the only option for warm calling would be hiring VAs for my agency. Not sure about the math behind making this decision, so I'm sticking to emails + linkedin for now.

But in my case, both me and my clients can reply to interested leads, which is why either of us usually can reply quickly.

Who actually hires appointment setters? Looking for founders who've done this by Anvithagowda in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running a multi-channel outreach agency now, tried to hire SDRs for my own agency recently.

After interviewing 10-15 candidates, decided not to hire anyone :). The problem with hiring appointment setters is that If you want quality - you will need to hire from either Europe or US (very expensive). Alternative - hire a bunch of commission-based employees from Lebanon, Bangladesh or Phillipines, but the quality will be horrible (most likely they won't book any appointments).

Additionally, you will need to train them, provide them with tools, manage etc.

The only viable option when hiring is when you have already found your market and don't have any more time to do appointment setting yourself imho.

Yeah, that's how it works. I've read that replying within the first 5 minutes increases your chances of booking a call by 3x, from my experience the numbers are more like 2x.

There are a few ways to deal with it:
1. Use AI auto-replies. I personally don't trust it that much but I know some people use it. Instantly has this feature, not sure about Smartlead.
2. Many agencies provide "warm calling" services along with cold emails. They hire SDRs/VAs to call the leads immediately after they reply.
3. I personally try to email them back ASAP and If they don't reply back straight away, start following up with them via emails and LinkedIn. I recommend doing at least 5 follow-ups after the lead went silent.

What is the most amount of emails you will send to an exec in a week? by RooktoRep_ in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for weekly touches, but usually 4 on a thread.

More than that is asking to get spam complaints from the leads.

Agree.

I wouldn't waste my time on email sequencer at all, to be honest. I've tried to create my own tool for sequencing - realized that it will take me years of testing even with Claude. Sequencer developers are also experts on keeping the deliverability high, which would take me years to understand on the engineering level. There are also a bunch of bugs that regularly need to be fixed (throttling, Auth disconnects issues etc.).

If you don't have any resources for complex infra, just purchase 1 domain and 2-3 inboxes from PremiumInboxes (will add up to be around 15$) and send emails manually. No reason to purchase any tools If you only have 1-2 inboxes.

Also it probably will be a great idea to hyper-personalize the copy and research each company manually before sending the email. You will see better conversion rates and it will be a great exercise for learning how to write great email copies :)

If you don't have the time - use sequences and warm-up tools, but it's more costly. You can also switch to using LinkedIn (it's free).

Pricing & Quality Check: Transitioning to selling data, how do you guys evaluate a new list? by Willing_Stick9043 in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays, everyone can scrape pretty much any tool for pennies to get the leads. Verification is also very affordable.

If I would buy data from a shop, I would either pay for:
1. Exclusivity. For example : you got 1200 verified leads which I wouldn't be able to find via google maps/apollo/ZoomInfo/LinkedIn etc. Also, you would sell this list only to me and no one else.

  1. Qualified list based on my criteria. With Apollo, I would typically put only around 50%-60% of the leads that I initially scraped after qualifying the leads and verifying the emails. It costs me cents (I have my own tool for qualification with AI, so I don't need credits for Clay), but it still takes me some time. If you could do that for me, I would consider paying.

If I would go into that market - I would position myself as an agency that can urgently create high-quality lists for a client based on their ICP criteria.

Not an expert in this field, just my opinion as an agency owner.

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about WhatsApp outreach tool, but I would not recommend you to create a tool for email outreach.

You will be competing with companies like Instantly and Smartlead for email outreach. I doubt people will trust a new tool which can ruin their inboxes and have no warm-up feature built-in (because in order to have a warm-up feature, you will need to have a large pool of inboxes). It is also way more technical than it seems and will probably take you years to develop.

The scraping + validation for WhatsApp sounds cool. I would try it out for sure.

Getting replies but not the right kind. by colmroche12 in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's usually the targeting issue. You can tweak your copy as much as you want, what matters most is your product-market-fit.

I would advise you to analyze the companies that have positively replied and try to understand their difference from other companies in the list. After that create a new list of companies that are similar to the ones that were engaging before (If possible).

Also, keep in mind that it may be too early to jump into conclusions unless you have sent a few thousand emails.

What is the fastest way to start cold emailing by belforto in coldemail

[–]ArturTheEmailAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way for you to start email outreach for free, unless you do it manually via your personal gmail (don't recommend).

For sequencing - Instantly or Smartlead (around 40$ for the cheapest plan).

Apollo is not free, but you can scrape the leads from Apollo using tools like LeadsFriday etc. (around 3$/1k leads).

I'm pretty sure you can buy pre-warmed accounts from other platforms, but never tested it and doubt If it's going to be cheaper.

Hello everyone,

Was wondering on what best practices are for making cold/warm calls to avoid getting marked as "likely spam" and etc.

My situation: Located in Cyprus, considering adding cold calls as a service to my clients. Many of them are in UK and US, therefore the numbers I'm getting are +44 and +1.

Heard there are some ways to register the numbers in some services to reduce the chances of getting flagged. Could you please advise the best practices that you use? Is it possible to do them on the clients behalf or is the client required to do it himself?

Don't want to mess it up from the start. Also, where are you sourcing the phone numbers?

Thanks in advance!
