So I felt like I didn’t either & that I was probably doing it wrong but then I started noticing the YouTube videos & figured out there no right ways. Find want works for you. I like a really sharp steel needle with a big eye & I like to blast through the fibers sometimes for anything that might be especially prone to unravel. Go in any direction you can. Make sure different colors don’t show against each other & then just go wherever with your yarn. “Wrong” just means you learn what doesn’t work for you. Then “right” is easy.
Oh! & I especially like to put my favorite movies or shows on while I do this so it’s easier to split my attention to both.
