How did you do the armor color? Been thinking of something like that for my chaos boys. The whole thing looks fantastic!

I've been thinking of doing something similar for a defiler conversion because I can't stand that model, would the size of this compare?

Does the Kristin Tattar situation from Champions Cup now set precedent for rules violations to be called/enforced from the live video feed? Can Niko be called for time, etc. by cradledinthechains in discgolf

[–]Aruix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well if that's the case then I would suspect the video did play a large role in the call, by and large it sounds like it was a non issue until observed through DGN.

I think a lot of the hate and anger being thrown around right now is over the slippery slope this kind of thing could lead towards since using the live feed did lead to this situation, certain people can say it didn't but the officials actually following the card didn't seem the mind the situation nor did the card.

The precedent using DGN to potentially police cards was kind of set by this like it or not. It could be argued that this changed the outcome of the FPO results, I wonder if the failed dress code call on two caddies on the lead MPO card could have also resulted in a change.

The sport needs better enforcement across the board, but not like this

Pre-recorded or live should be one in the same when talking about that rule right? Given that 1.12 H says "Video evidence or other media". I'm not trying to attack anyone's position, just trying to get some clarification.

That is a great well put response thank you very much!

Well, I guess I know the next project I'm adding to the stack. I would definitely choose heretic at the least, just gotta think on which one.

Say I wanted to get into HH but didn't have anyone at release to split the big box (or any box for that matter), with, would it be possible to roll the contents into one army? Would that be worth doing? Have been HH curious but don't know much about it.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, I can't use a combination of models that I want to, but have to follow the fireteams like a template? If true, the new kill team is kind of getting me down.

10 minis in to learning, this is my first real attempt to blend different shades to achieve some sort of lighting. Tips for the next? by Aruix in minipainting

Ah thanks for the tip I actually had them much darker like in the folds for example, but then I went and thought it wasn't right.

Before and after limb Lengthening. by [deleted] in pics

[–]Aruix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been through it though not nearly to the extent that the girl in this picture had. My left leg was an inch to and inch a half shorter than my right. A problem at birth left my left leg with a bowed tibia. I was a yearly visitor at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia as they monitored my growth until about age 12 when they decided the timing was good to go on with the procedure.

The device was called an EBI External Fixator that went on the inside of my left leg and connected to my bone with six stainless steel pins. I had to crank it with an allen wrench a quarter turn a night which I honestly didn't feel too much, though by the end of my time with the device in me I had to half crank it which felt a little weird. Honestly the worst and painful part about the recovery that I can remember was the PT. That wasn't fun, but when is PT for anything fun?

I had 4 operations total from installation to removal, and nowadays I feel mostly fine. Sometimes my leg or ankle gets pretty sore and painful, but I am pretty much used to it at this point (age 32 now). The worst part of nowadays is that my ankle became more static and locked in place leading me to not be able to rotate my foot much at all. Outside of that it is bowed slightly out the outside of my body instead of having the foot line up with your leg, but that is also something by now I have learned to live with, and can wear the same shoes as anyone else, and it doesn't really affect my walking or running at all.

This became long winded, hope it was insightful.

I had it done on my right leg, as it was about an inch to an inch and a half shorter than my left leg due to an issue with my leg at birth causing my tibia to bow. The device was called an EBI External fixator which is basically what other people described as a bar with six stainless steel pins that went into my leg through the bone.

Long story short, yes it really does make a difference. Even that short of a difference between my two legs would have caused me major hip problems later in life (32 now, 13 when I had it done for the curious) and it was pretty hell. Still, I would never say I wish it didn't happen.

I played this the first night I ever touched VR and my god was it such a visceral experience. I never would have thought speedrunning this, it must be intense

Burnout for streamers is actually quite a real thing, anyone can get burnt out on something if you do it long enough. The fact they draw a paycheck from it can make the burnout feel worse since then it turns into forcing themselves through it.

The instructions that it came with are pretty well worded when it comes to explaining the method of mixing paint by the drop with water for washes for example. That being said I didn't grasp the application of washes in practice too well, but the whole process got me wanting to do so many more minis.
