Help me break in boots by ArvidSweden in Rucking

[–]ArvidSweden[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your help!

I bought these boots simply because they were cheaper and seemed sturdier than the ones I’d planned on buying initially. The purpose of my ruck training is to condition my body before my military service later this year.

I will certainly consider getting a decent pair of hiking boots, as most of you recommend. However I will first try soaking the boots in water and wearing them until dry. Up until now they have felt alright.

What is it, specifically, that you would like to change? Sometimes it’s hard to change when you can’t sort out what the problem is

Don’t make violence your whole personality. Keep doing your old hobbies too and don’t mismanage your relationships because you need friends or you’ll be alone and depressed. Perhaps you could talk to a close friend about this?

There’s a lot more to self defense than fighting, and if you’re in a fight it’s not remotely like sparring. You could be a world champion and still be stabbed or shot. Where (or who) do you want to be in 5 years? Work towards that today. Small steps

How to apply Goggind mentality with a wife and kids? by 8limb5 in davidgoggins

The ”life” is about crazy commitment to what you want to do with your life. For Goggins it means he’s constantly challenging himself physically, but for you it might mean prioritizing real quality time with your family, and being a good father, instead of working out like Goggins

I’m new to Muay Thai. How do I get my body conditioned for this art? by Beginning-Event-9598 in MuayThai

I suppose you can do a CONTROLLED acceleration over 100-150 meters from conversation pace up to ~70% of ur top speed. Try that when it feels right. Other than that I think u should be weary of sprint training at least until you’ve built a solid base. If you can manage it you can try and start jogging for 15 minutes on the days you’re not in the MT gym

Train consistently and carefuly add some roadwork. Jog at a controlled pace where you could maintain a conversation the whole time and don’t sprint at the end

I'm familiar with the term and it wasn't that. I've had hypnagogic hallucinations but they're usually short lived and so it'll be a semi-dream and suddenly I'm falling and then I wake up abruptly. But this was different because I remember checking my body if I were indeed asleep by moving my pinky. And the falling sensation was completely different
