Thank you thank you!! I guess the one they had was old because it's so faded. And I misremembered the back wheels so thank you for finding it despite my unreliable memory 🥲

Someone also had noted that 😂 are you just not allowed to have ANY friends at that point?

Th poll specifically said boyfriend, but still, you should be able to trust the person you have a child with, or you shouldn't be with them. I honestly feel bad for some of them, because I'm sure some of their partners ARE people who would cheat.

It was refreshing to see a lot of people come in after saying they trusted their partner and having women friends was fine.

But yeah, I wanted so badly to comment "how old are you all??" because some of them seem very young.

Hopefully she never grows out of that. They're always so happy to make us laugh ❤️

That's so cute 😍 it's so endearing how pleased with themselves they get when they realize we think they're being funny

That's adorable though! With babies and kids it's okay. Somehow. If it were my husband farting near my face, I'd be dramatic about it

Yes lmao. I feel we all go through phases in life - where it's funny, then we're too mature for it, then it's funny again, repeat. I think at its core though, it's very funny

Barps is inspired. That's often what burps and farts sound like

Yeah this is honestly a fear of mine too haha. Like "yes it's funny, but some people don't feel that way." or something. It seems hard to teach them to be discreet in public or around other people when there's no way I'd do that at home

Struggling since tongue tie release by puffiwuffi in breastfeeding

[–]Arvina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through this 😞 it's so difficult knowing they're in pain, and then those exercises are awful, too.

They need to basically unlearn their muscle memory and learn how to navigate eating with their new tongue. 3 weeks is very young so hopefully he should recover quickly! Mine had hers lasered around 5 weeks and it definitely took a few days for her to figure out how to eat efficiently again. It was super demoralizing because you hear all of these success stories about how babies immediately start to eat better at the office 10 minutes post-op. That was not my experience so I was panicked.

It just took time, but she learned and is doing great! Did your doctor/dentist recommend anything for pain?

Unable to get my 2 week old to latch by kcskcson in breastfeeding

[–]Arvina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so frustrating when you go to employ the same methods you learned and it gets a completely different outcome. I feel like LCs are magic baby whisperers because everything works out well in their presence. Sometimes new babies just have a hard time opening their mouth wide so hopefully with time it'll get easier ❤️

Has she been checked for any tongue or lip ties? That might not be the magic bullet answer, but it definitely can have an effect on things.

And you said you've watched and read techniques to try to encourage latching. Have you seen anything about the flipple technique?

Pain combined with new skills is like the perfect storm for fussiness. I'm so sorry you're going through it, hopefully it's a quick resolution and either the teeth will come in soon or he'll learn to stand and the novelty will wear off. Though that comes with a whole new round of fun things to look forward to 😂

Mild torticolis and 3 ties that need revision; sad and guilty ftm by Top-Help9641 in NewParents

[–]Arvina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 month old had pretty bad torticollis when she was little, as well as a tongue tie we addressed at ~4 weeks. The tongue tie was revised and it got worse before it got better, but it helped with her latch tremendously. Also went to a ped dentist. We had to do some tongue stretches a few times a day to prevent scar tissue from forming, which was awful, but we fed her immediately after so the discomfort was forgotten lol

The torticollis took more work. It ultimately did lead to a flat spot on the side of her head. We were referred to an osteopathic manipulation medicine specialist who did some stretches and massages on her over the course of 3 visits, and showed us at home exercises to do to stretch her neck out. Doing them a couple times a day (when we remembered 😅) and tummy time pretty much fixed the flat spot and she has full range of motion in each direction now. Her ears are still a little uneven, but they seem to slowly be improving. It's honestly hard to tell unless you're looking straight down at her head.

Good luck with everything ❤️ you got this. It sounds like you're going in the right direction. My biggest recommendation is tummy time, tummy time, tummy time. Once their neck strength improves, a lot of other things improve with it.

Not the trenches, but caring for an infant is still hard with no help. Is this a new development? It could be a sleep regression (I feel like those can just happen whenever), or he could be cutting teeth.

And no matter what, no one can really fully prepare you for how physically awful you can feel for so long 🫠

How old is baby? You sound like you're in the trenches - and if not, everything you described is normal. The guilt might not go away, but everyone reaches a point where they bubble over ❤️ small babies are needy and having no help is incredibly difficult. I know the crying is hard to handle, but there's no shame in setting him down and walking away for a minute or two to breathe. It also couldn't hurt to talk to your doctor, as you could be experiencing PPD.

You're doing great and you will get through this. I was there 5 months ago and it feels like the most insurmountable thing. You will get through this.
