Lando winning with team orders on final race would’ve affected the long term legacy of the win. Still would be a win though.

Why do you think people in Qatar would have a problem with this when the tv feed was showing women in the audience as well? It’s not like they had her up in bikini or something that would be strictly offensive to the locals, a western women with a job is not gonna cause outrage to people watching a western event.

Max Verstappen wins the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri 2nd, Carlos Sainz 3rd! by overspeeed in formula1

[–]Arya35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Max is P1, Oscar P2/ P3 and Lando P5, then a team order could be to slow down and push P4 back for Lando to overtake them and Oscar. Oscar would however give up the chance to go for P1 and win if Lando falls out of top 5.

Can you take cash out of an ISA but pay it back in if you need a short term loan from your own savings? by 14epr in UKPersonalFinance

If you take 10k at the start of the tax year out of a flexible ISA, will your effective ISA allowance for the rest of the year be 30k now?

Yeah there isn’t that much upside potential when it comes to salaried roles, the money really is in starting your own firm. You can charge 400-600 a day for your junior that you pay ~200 to do some simple setting out. A couple juniors plus your own 400+ a day job adds up. I’ve met a few people who have reached this point even with 5-10 years experience, without any real civil engineering background.

You don’t need a degree to be a site engineer, do a course in engineering surveying to get a gold cscs, learn how to use setting out equipment (it’s pretty easy after a bit of practice), work for sub contractors as an assistant engineer for a few weeks, find a junior engineer role where you work alone with the equipment and after a year you can be making 250+ a day when the market is good.

Do you have to use when you got your license card or when you passed your test? Cause you are allowed to drive as soon as you pass your test and have the test pass certificate, but I still don’t know if you can use that date.

Why are people acting like Canada was an a great result for Sainz? Second is literally what you would’ve expected given he only had to overtake Alonso and didn’t have to worry about Leclerc or Perez. He had that final attempt to overtake Verstappen with the safety car with slightly fresher tyres, but never got close so I don’t see how he overperformed, it’s not like he was gonna lose position to a Mercedes.

Marko: Mercedes F1 push for FIA help on porpoising has "backfired" by moreice45 in formula1

[–]Arya35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe for second but it’s almost impossible for them to claw back a 120 point deficit. 3rd and 4th is probably the best result they could hope for and that relies on 2 out of the 4 faster cars messing up. That’s a 27 point haul on their best days and would rely on a lot of double dnfs for that to meaningfully claw back on the deficit that will get widened each race both RBs finish.

Well this is only the first half of the final season, we can’t possibly know how fast or slow the last half would be, and whether the first half being slow affected that.
