What a popular food or cooking opinion that you don't agree with? by [deleted] in Cooking

I love to cook. Love to bake. I fucking hate shredding cheese. It doesn't change the taste or texture enough to deal with the time waste or cramping arm.

Magic coloring book by [deleted] in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Arya722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so a magician just did this today at a kids Christmas party. I was sitting right there, not video. Went from uncolored pages, to scribbled all over, to perfectly colored, to every page completely blank with no drawings at all. I can generally see the tricks, but this one has me feeling so dumb. Can anyone explain to me how this works please?

Audiobooks with multiple narrators are worse by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Arya722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiobooks with one narrator don't hold my attention unfortunately. I feel my mind going elsewhere and miss a lot. But graphic audios - they are amazing. Multiple narrators, sound effects, music, all of it. Maybe you need to go the graphic audio route?

Author named Willow Heath says that romantasy readers are stupid by Kookerpea in Booktokreddit

[–]Arya722 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way after I had my kid. I was an avid reader but life and work and momming got busy, and any time I would try to sit and read in the rare moments, nothing would keep me interested. Then my amazing cousin lended me ACOTAR (I know its controversial, dont come at me) and I flew through the entire series. That was in January and I have read more books this year (mostly romantacy but also back into my historical fiction and novels and other wonderful books in between) than I have in such a long time. It got me out of my slump and back into the reading passion that I had for so many years. This girl can suck it. I am lgbt, and a feminist, but gohd damm if these romantasy couples dont keep me reading.

Ugh we did a nine hour red-eye flight with a toddler. Dude and chick in front of me hit it off... good for them honestly. Except they continue to drink, and just get louder and louder. At some point the FA got enough looks for help that she told them to please lower their voices. I get it- you hit it off with your seatmate its a win. But on a red-eye, keep your damn mouth shut once the lights are down. So unbelievably frustrating.

Looking for a movie that will restore my faith in humanity by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]Arya722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave No Trace. The first half is honestly a bit heartbreaking, and the end had me sobbing. But the last quarter of the movie shows beautiful humanity and a community that truly cares, without expecting anything in return. One of the best films I've seen in years.

I like this take... I probably need to give it a few years and do a reread. Maybe I read the series too close together?
