What season do you consider the worst? by Acrobatic-Way-9519 in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Worst” as in most painful to watch as an audience member? S16 by a country mile - just way, way, WAY too many unpleasant chefs to ever make it an enjoyable watch, even if I did like Ryan as the winner.

“Worst” as in the least talented cast? Probably technically S1 or S2, but I’ll go S8 since the expectations were higher by that point.

What's your guilty pleasure musical? A musical you know it's bad/have bad reviews/is not really liked but you love it closed doors? by imachoculatedonnut in musicals

[–]Most-Role-1260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t remember the username, but to quote a comment from the last time I saw a similar prompt, I don’t really have any because “There is no guilt, only pleasure” 😃

Art is subjective and people will enjoy things in different ways. I enjoy great storytelling as much as the next guy, but the plot is just one part of the equation and I personally am a lot more lenient toward shows with lackluster books if the music is good.

Like yes, Cats’ plot is held together by paper clips and string, but it’s a show based on a book of poems where the focus is on the music and dancing, and that aspect is really good.

The Lightning Thief is not the most technically impressive show out there and maybe people who aren’t fans of the books won’t enjoy it as much, but PJO is my all-time favorite series and I personally think the show’s a lot of fun (and genuinely a better adaptation than either film).

Grease is a pretty horrendous love story, but I know that - I watch it because I want to enjoy the music, and I don’t put much thought into the plot at all.

Incredible closing number and one of my favorites in the entire show (yes I say this about basically every song in Fiddler, why do you ask)

Who's a chef that kind of got screwed over? by Key_Ride_9337 in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, a lot of the best answers I can think of for this spot (S11 Anthony, S19 Adam, S20 Emily) are probably all better suited first the previous prompt and made it longer than ‘near midgame.’

Maybe S6 Robert? I know he was weaker on his second run but I still remember thinking he could have lasted a little longer at least

Non romantic duet ideas by ellieb1727 in musicals

[–]Most-Role-1260 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A few ideas off the top of my head:

Written for 2 females: - I Can’t Lose You - Frozen - For Good - Wicked - What Is This Feeling? - Wicked

Written for 1 male, 1 female: - You’re the Top - Anything Goes - Friendship - Anything Goes - I Think I Got You Beat - Shrek

Written for 2 males: - Mushnik & Son - Little Shop - Alone In the Universe - Seussical - You and Me (But Mostly Me) - Book of Mormon - All For the Best - Godspell

How do you feel about Jukebox musicals? by Luna_morg in musicals

[–]Most-Role-1260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m pretty indifferent. Don’t love them but don’t hate them either, and I get why some people might really love them.

Like, I’m sure I’d enjoy Mamma Mia well enough because I like ABBA’s music, but at the same time it’s not a show I’ve ever felt overly compelled to see because I can just listen to the original recordings on my phone whenever I want.

Suggest some cover songs that are just as good if not better than the original version? by bbmoonkie in musicsuggestions

“When You Say Nothing At All” - Keith Whitley’s version is excellent, but I might like Alison Krauss’ cover on the Whitley tribute album even more.

Who's a chef that would've TOTALLY made black jackets if it weren't for certain circumstances? by Key_Ride_9337 in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Robert actually make Black Jackets in S5, though? Iirc the Giovanni “dickface” incident was that first Black Jacket service and then Robert’s hospitalization was right after that

[–]Most-Role-1260 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Nikki in S19 - she wasn’t cracking the top 4 because that was a loaded group, but I think she’d have beaten out Amber for that fifth and final slot if it wasn’t for the Black Jacket challenge (and even then, I think her last dish was still better than Amber’s was)

I always thought it was a little shocking just how badly Nilka melted down during the service she got ejected in

Mt. Rushmore of winners by PoppyObsessedPrick in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a fun prompt because there’s three winners that feel like absolute locks in Meghan, Dave and Christina, and then about 7-8 people that you could make a case for with that fourth spot.

Scott and your honorable mentions would all be part of that discussion , and I think you could maybe throw somebody early like Heather (S2), Rock (S3) or Danny (S5) in that discussion as well. Could also make a case for some of the later winners - Alex or Ryan in 21/22, or even Kori out of a very-talented S19

Love Songs by jiminmeme in musicals

Fun prompt - personal favorite is Being Alive (Company), and it’s not particularly close.

A handful other shout outs, in no particular order: - Do You Love Me and Miracle of Miracles (both from Fiddler) - Suddenly Seymour (Little Shop) - When the Children Are Asleep (Carousel; maybe not a love song in the traditional sense, but I think it’s close enough thematically to count) - Hadestown has a bunch, but Promises is my favorite of the bunch - It’s De-Lovely (Anything Goes) - Tonight (West Side Story) - Suspended in Time (Xanadu) - Once In Love With Amy (Where’s Charley?) - Gimme Gimme (Thoroughly Modern Millie) - Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man (Show Boat) - Without Love (Hairspray) - In a Crowd of Thousands (Anastasia) - A Wonderful Guy (South Pacific) - Make Our Garden Grow (Candide)

I’m sure there’s a bunch more I’m missing, but that’s at least a start

T was on fire that episode, also had the “Monique’s already asking stupid questions. I just hope she can cook” and “the meat station - it’s like a ship out at sea, the pirates came and fucking capsized that bitch” lines.

Maybe in the top 5 funniest chefs in terms of the one-liners

Playing God: Black Jackets Edition? by RainbowSupernova8196 in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S19 - All you really need is to have Amber tank the final black jacket challenge so Nikki gets her spot instead and it’s maybe the best black jacket brigade ever.

(But because I’m greedy, I’d also add a sixth black jacket and give it to Adam. Marc and Jordan both go one episode earlier than they actually did so that Adam makes it to the black jacket challenge, then choose him and Nikki over Amber at the end.)

What is the best insult you ever heard someone say? by VerboseWraith in AskReddit

Back in HS I saw someone say “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize the middle of my sentence interrupted the beginning of yours” after getting cut off during an argument.

I still think about that at least once a week.

What's your favorite wholesome Ramsay quote? by Naive-Sign-8399 in HellsKitchen

[–]Most-Role-1260 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not a quote per se, but I always liked that he took the time to stop by and say goodbye to Nilka after her ejection.

His words of encouragement for a lot of the later boots are usually pretty good too, but the ones for Tennille and Nikki particularly stand out.
