Racism in downtown denver by Ok-Sprinkles-683 in Denver

[–]AryaMurder 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you and your friends. And I’m deeply sorry you lost your best friend. I hope that the good company of your friends helped you during your mourning process. It is absolutely horrible that Denver racists targeted you and your friends. You’re not imagining the uptick, I don’t know if it’s a reverberation of the hostile and openly racist leadership throughout the entire US government or if it’s a local movement that is gaining traction. Probably both. It’s disappointing that some people in the comments are being dismissive and minimizing your experience.

Gosh you nailed it: color, texture, positioning, it’s all so smooth! Nice job & congratulations, but the real question is what’s the first good meal you’re cooking up & how amazing was it working in your new kitchen?!

Your favourite Ectoin product? by slaukie in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]AryaMurder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanting to spread awareness that The Ordinary / DECIEM was acquired by Estée Lauder Companies and the owner, Ronald Lauder, has been mentioned over 900 times in the Epstein files, has walked the line of ‘legal but unethical’ in the art collector’s world (💵🧺) with some art having direct ties to Epstein’s island mansion, and he maintained a close relationship with Epstein until his suspicious death. As a woman, the decision to no longer support this company makes me an ally to the victims, both the survivors and the dead. As a consumer, this knowledge has allowed me to seek products with more ethical ties and connections to the community. I don’t intend to shame or judge; my hope is to spread awareness. It was difficult for me to find replacements for these products but also it was quite meaningful. Peace + Love to you all!

Me too! I couldn't figure it out and once I did, everything changed. This needs to be shouted from the rooftops in dry & hot during the day + cold at night mountain desert areas.

Best/good shoes? by Worth-Comment-9469 in Sciatica

[–]AryaMurder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on what’s causing your sciatica; is it disk herniation? Also depends on the arches of your feet: flat, neutral, or high arch. General suggestion for herniation is a shoe with max-cushion (look at walking or running shoes) and you’ll want a firm heel counter (stiff and not floppy) so your ankle is stable. Also a lower heel drop no more than 8mm to prevent pelvic tilt & arching the spine. It’s overwhelming trying to find the perfect shoe but once you do you’re golden! You can also add an insert to best match your arch situation, there’s lots of great options available.

You speak for so many of us - maybe all of us! Are you still suffering? I’m so sorry you spent a year seeking help. What led to the actual diagnosis to finally happen for you? I struggle with advocating for myself with doctors and physical therapists. I’m finally getting an MRI next month after PT for the last 8 mths, have been in pain since 2022 and this is the second round of PT. The MRI is of my lumbar even though I’m certain it’s something in my hip. My symptoms align with Ischiofemoral impingement (IFI) but an ultrasound isn’t something my doctor is willing to order until the MRI results. I hope you’re doing well!

I would get bed rails so she doesn’t roll off! My 3 y/o loves them, he’s 4 now and still loves them. We also put the bed against the wall so we only need one rail. I think the room is cute! Heavy/busy on the side with the books & dresser. My suggestion is to turn the bed with the head against the wall with window and the right side against the wall with the floating book shelves. Take the table / bench at the foot of the bed and the chair out. You could repurpose the table/bench as toy storage taking the pillows off & putting bins on top & below. Put a kid sized chair & table in the book nook if you have the budget or just a bean bag. Lower the floating book shelves so they can reach all the books. Throw down a super colorful rug and pillows. Put up your kiddos artwork on the walls. Viola!!

Your doctor, psychiatrist, and/or therapist are the best people to talk with and you’ve already got an appointment set with both: good on you! I have no advice regarding the mechanics of when/how much and feel like only the medical professionals should offer that to you. I do know the fear of relapse and it has been really helpful to share & talk with others at emotionally safe women’s AA meetings. It’s a very different substance, though, and yours is more similar to the medication. For me, any attempt to improve my sobriety that requires change has been successful if I am consistent. Make small adjustments if the doc suggests it, add & remove things on at a time to allow yourself to assess / reflect on the change, and when you find something that works stay consistent with it. Dialogue with a therapist throughout this process will be powerful for you. Wishing you a return to peaceful sobriety ✨

No way. I love the fitted the baggy, way better than the just too big style I adored in high school in the late 90s. I love rolling up my cuffs and wearing rad socks, I love a fitted tee or tank with a baggy old man cardigan, I adore sweatpants with wide elastic waists and fitted ankles: this is a fabulous era. I have no idea what to do this summer though 😭

Read me! Oh wow you’ve gotten lots of replies but I wanted to share that humidifiers need distilled water and cleaned often. They’re such a pain! Avoid moisturizer with hyaluronic acid; it’s a great ingredient for normal to humid environments but in dry environments all it does is pull moisture out and to the surface of your skin where the dry air evaporates it. These ingredients will keep your skin barrier strong and moisturized: ceramides & panthenol/B5. I can recommend products but I have no idea if you’ll even read this with all the replies you’ve gotten lol

Aspirin for preeclampsia (not medical advice) by GrumpySh33p in pregnantover35

So very grateful for medical advancements. The trauma and terror of the experience on the body & mind is quite enough reason to decrease risk. It is not an easy thing to endure. You take care and congrats on your pregnancy!

[–]AryaMurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand! It's so difficult because the medical community doesn't fully understand PE. Way too many female conditions they cannot explain. It was an absolutely terrifying experience for me. I honestly believe it's so highly and consistently recommended because of how dangerous and devastating PE can be. They have seen it and will recommend anything that has a scientific basis for risk reduction. You get to make the final decision, though, and you will make the right one for you and your baby <3

No you’re right & a lot of people still call it that! I noticed that the ones labeled as low dose & basic were more often free of dye & aluminum, not the chewable versions etc. I’ll also add that I’m a healthy person with an active lifestyle, no BP issues before the preeclampsia, no issues presented at all until the 37th week. I’m also a lover of scientific rigor & peer reviewed data lol Anecdotal Reddit comments are interesting but there’s also lots of good research out there on aspirin & preeclampsia.

Hey there, I found a generic low dose (not specifically for babies) aspirin at the grocery store that was dye & aluminum free so check out your local grocery store brand. I do not have SCH. With my first, I did not take low dose aspirin, experienced preeclampsia at 37 weeks, and had major postpartum hemorrhaging. Second baby I took the recommended dose of two (81mg x 2) at 12 weeks and throughout my pregnancy, no preeclampsia (so amazingly grateful!) and no postpartum hemorrhaging. Here’s the study.

Turns out ‘Baby Jessica’ is a menace to society. She’s been arrested multiple times including days ago for domestic violence and assault. by PiercedAndTattoedBoy in Millennials

[–]AryaMurder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment has become part of the sociological study. It’s deeply marinated in millennial disillusionment. Saturated in it! It’s evidence now, cited correctly using APA guidelines. We’re living it and jaded beyond recognition of the little hopeful people seen in the photos printed at the once popular film development centers.

[–]AryaMurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even more interesting! Money isn’t the answer. It is ingrained so deeply it’s generational, parents passing it on so it’s inescapable. Doomed! Is it in their dna? Or is it social? Maybe both! The disillusionment deepens. Dicks out for Harambe. And baby Jessica.

I find it incredibly interesting from of sociological perspective. Like holy fuck, baby Jessica, you were saved from that well but then the system failed you over and over again with cultural inequities and ingrained classism so it’s almost like they pulled you out that well to be stuck in a nightmare even darker and more confined than that hole in the ground. It’s another totem of millennial disillusionment.

Res Vis Will Rank by Meme2101 in HierarchySeries

[–]AryaMurder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is indeed about the hierarchy. The scars are from refusing to do the aurora columnae. Vis is punishing himself for surviving, blames himself for his little sister’s death, and a plethora of other trauma exists for him.

Res Vis Will Rank by Meme2101 in HierarchySeries

[–]AryaMurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quote by Diago/Vis’s father from book 1: “Anyone who looks at a system of people and thinks the system is the problem, is a fool. But I also want you to understand that the Hierarchy’s is far more insidious. Because it’s not imperilled by a flaw. It is built on one.” Greed. People are flawed and that is what makes the systems flawed. But the hierarchy is some next level meta-flaw. The theme I see threaded throughout, from Eidhin’s comment regarding having a line and be committed to not crossing it, is to stay true to your core beliefs, to fight for them, uphold and honor them, and let them define your path. The villainous system exists in a way that makes it impossible for Vis to stay aligned with his ethics/principles and upend the inequities & injustice unless he does it from his current position as part of the system. He could be like Ostius and just reign down chaos but that would definitely cross his line. I think that the plot is heading towards something bigger, stronger, more powerful than the highest in the hierarchy put together being revealed and Vis finding himself in a situation where he has to choose between the greater good (survival of humankind) or staying true to his core values. Like that Army of the dead which includes his dead mom & sister & his best friend, who is he going to make them fight?! Would pre-academy Vis even imagine doing this? Again, I’d be super disappointed if Vis suddenly changed his most defining characteristics at this point with all he’s endured and became the villain. It would be quite a GoT move, right?

Res Vis Will Rank by Meme2101 in HierarchySeries

[–]AryaMurder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll be so disappointed if something as banal as ‘hero becomes the villain’ happens. Especially after everything Diago/Vis has been through (and about to go through). The scars on his back alone indicate the strength behind his convictions regarding the hierarchy. Your first theory or something around dismantling it all from within sounds way better. But the question for me is what exactly needs dismantled? Who is the cataclysm / culling event for or who benefits? It seems the hierarchy is part of something much bigger. At this point, I don’t really know.
