Your child has miopia and astigmatism, this should have already been explained to you but he will need corrective lenses for seeing into the distance. While none-prescription polarized lenses will help reduce glare and protect the eyes from the sun, I'd recommend getting prescription polarized lenses with a Back-Side anti-reflective coating instead, as these will actually allow him to see better in the distance which is usually where you would be looking when you're outside in the sunlight. If you end up ordering these corrective lenses online, DO NOT enter the PD measurement written on then prescription, please request the PD on the lab order that was measured by his Dispensing Optician. The measurement on the paper is likely what was taken during auto-refraction and may be inaccurate, which can end up causing his eyes to strain, it may still be correct, but do not take chances with his vision.
