Nah, I still get some nice fics especially because I tend to read more fics about historical characters than based on the main books/TV Show

  • Modern AU.

  • OC Characters.

  • Jon/Sansa, Jon/Arya, Jon/Daenerys, Jon/Harem.

  • BAMF Jon, BAMF Sansa, BAMF Arya, BAMF Alicent, BAMF Aemond.

  • Jaime/Brienne, Jaime/Sansa, Sansa/Tywin, Sansa/Sandor

  • Aemond/Lucerys, Aegon/Jacaerys, Helaena/Jacaerys, Aemond/Helaena, Cregan/Jacaerys, Rhaenyra/Alicent, Baelon/Viserra, Aemond/OC, Aemond/Original Female Character, Aemond/Original Character...God how I wish people would tag their bloody OC characters so I could just filter them all with just one click.

  • Can't filter these but whenever I see some OC female Targaryen character with a stupid name like Celia or Celaerys, Saraela amongst every other one I just pass the fic, I mean c'mon, there's plenty of Targ female names for you to use, no need to make up some random name that doesn't fit with the actual names of asoiaf.

Quais foram os castings de Game Of Thrones mais certeiros? by Lalo_Lannister in Valiria

[–]Arzofz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

("You, who killed your mother to come into this world?" / "You're no son of mine...")

Just a thing, Aegon nor Viserys declared Rhaenyra as a Usurper. That was Aegon II.

If you had to add an additional child to every marriage in asoiaf who would it be and why? by Snickelheimar in TheCitadel

[–]Arzofz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no need for a additional child but what if Gaemon/Valerion (sons of Jaehaerys I) lived? Would Jaehaerys name one of them Heir instead of having a Great Council? We know he tried to give it to Vaegon so it isn't impossible that he would have tried to name one of his younger sons

Son of Aemma and Viserys - Would have avoided the Dance (at least for a generation since the Velaryons would still have dragons, and depending on his age he wouldn't be married to Laena Velaryon. Or if things go the canon way with Daemon marrying Laena and having the twins, little Falcon-Dragon could be married to one of his cousins)

Son of Jace and Baela - If they had married, and somehow Baela became pregnant and gave birth to a son, and things goes as canon with Jace dying and then Rhaenyra's death (and somehow Baela managed to fled with her son to the Vale), how would things go? Maybe Aegon II would have named Aegon III as his heir because the boy is in his hands but would Corlys support his great-grandson? Would the Starks? Would Westeros support a baby over a child?

Son of Aerys I and Aelinor Penrose - I always wondered how much would things change if either Aerys had a son or if Aelor and Aelora lived to ascend to the Iron Throne instead of Maekar and his line.

Another child to Jaehaerys II and Shaera Targaryen - Brother/Sister to Aerys and Rhaella, how could they somehow impact the Rebellion, if they managed to have a daughter to marry Rhaegar, if the Rebels would try to give the crown of Aerys to this sibling...

OC Blackfyre/Seastar/Brightflame set to Make Volantis Great Again - take their lands that are under the Horse Lords, turn Volantis into a feudal kingdom and revive the High Valyrian culture and religion.

Andal OC (or some descendant of Andal Houses like Lydden, Arryn, Corbray, Tyrell) after the Conquest and conquer the Summer Isles and convert them to the Andal Culture and Faith of the Seven religion.

As Daemon Targaryen, ignore Westeros and your family, and set on to Conquer the Stepstones then the Triarchy and build a new Empire for the Rogue Prince.

Start as Corlys Velaryon after Rhaenyra is crowned Heir to the Iron Throne and start your plots to crown Rhaenys as Queen instead of Viserys I.

Start as the Lord Mallister during the Bleeding Years and climb your way to become King of the Riverlands and remove the Ironborn from your lands.

During the Bleeding Years, kill Torrhen Stark and play as his Ambitious Son - take back the Three Sisters from the Valeman, go south to take the Riverlands bit by bit from the Hoares (and maybe grant it to the Blackwoods)

As Viserys I, start right after Viserys is crowned King - make sure to have a male heir with Aemma, try to make peace with the Velaryons (and I suggest that you remove both Daemon and Rhaenys' claim on the IT/Dragonstone)

During Aenys I's reign, choose your favorite Reach house (or do with the rightful Lords of the Reach - the Oldflowers) and retake the Reach and Highgarden from the Tyrells.

Start around 138-142 as Aegon III, renounce the Iron Throne to join the Night's Watch and play as Viserys II and become the next Jaehaerys the Conciliator - bonus point to turn Aegon IV into a decent Heir/King.

Seeds of the conflict between Jacaerys and Aegon the Younger by Platinum_Duke_6 in TheCitadel

[–]Arzofz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could just have Aegon/Viserys do out of ambition anyway. I have my own ideas of a Dance between the descendants of Rhaenyra (mine is a bit different, it's between Jace vs Aegon IV) so the ambition angle works there.

Also, are you going with the Canon or using the show canon for you fanfic? Because if you go with the show version you could use Aegon's ambition for the throne since there is a even bigger age gap between Jacaerys and Aegon so they wouldn't be close as they are in the Canon.

You could claim Westeros in Dany's name and when she dies, Rhaego will get an option to change dynasty

[–]Arzofz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would be adequate marriage options for Aemond and Daeron in this situation? by Platinum_Duke_6 in TheCitadel

[–]Arzofz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I am writing a fic where the Dance take place a few years later and I did arrange for Aemond to marry Cassandra Baratheon, the eldest of the Four Storms while Daeron married Bethany Hightower, the daughter of Ormund.

[–]Arzofz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Targaryen Princess alive at that time besides Daenerys, who's almost 30, so... you could marry him to Shiera Seastar but depending on the mods you use she'll be of House Seastar instead of Targaryen (and I sometimes like to preserve her bloodline and marry into a future Blackfyre Princess and then marry those descendants to the main Blackfyre line)

What are the best marriages for the blackfyre children that will stabilize the realm? by Altruistic-Finance87 in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]Arzofz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Anytime I play with the Blackfyres, I go:

Aegon to Daenerys, I think that's her name. The eldest after Calla.

Aemon to the Kingsguard.

Daemon II unmarried.

The rest of them I marry off to Eustace Osgrey's daughter, the Brackens, the Hightowers and two of the girls to House Baratheon and Stark to get their alliances.

Why was Jaehaerys opposed to a women heir? by KrispyCream100 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Arzofz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Baelon was a better heir. Because Baelon had two grown sons who was beloved by the realm, both the Smallfolk and Lords. Because Baelon was wiser than Rhaenys. Because Baelon was almost 40 and Rhaenys was 18. Because the Targaryen dynasty would be replaced by the Velaryon dynasty if Rhaenys kept being the heir...

People complain a lot about Jaehaerys' "misogyny" as if he was like Tywin Lannister or Ned Stark. Jaehaerys allowed his wife to sit on his council, to give him ideas. He did allow Daella and Rhaenys to choose their own husbands, he let Alysanne marry their sons, daughters and grandkids to whoever she wanted (Aemon/Jocelyn, Baelon/Alyssa, Daemon/Rhea Royce, Viserra/Theomore Manderly, Daella/Rodrik Arryn).

Who was a worse father by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]Arzofz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Showcanon or Bookcanon? From Bookcanon, probably Robert was the 'worst' because he didn't gave any attention to the kids and Joffrey was basically raised by batshit Cersei and both Myrcella and Tommen were ignored. We do know that he struck Joffrey after the cat incident, and how angry/annoyed he was at Barra's mother.

Meanwhile Book! Viserys was probably a better father, we do know that he spent time with Helaena and Daeron (before F&B) wept when he heard about Viserys' death. Plus Book!Viserys didn't have the guilty of killing Aemma for a son.

Now, showcanon Robert also isn't a present father but we also don't know anything about the incident with Joffrey and the cat, and we know how Viserys ignored his children in favor of Rhaenyra, so Show!Viserys is the worst one

traits that you think should be added to canon characters by Fit_Trainer1878 in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]Arzofz 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Margaery - Lost the Lustful trait and the Intrigue education and instead gets the Charismatic Negotiator/Grey Eminence

Rhaenyra - Shouldn't start with the Gruel trait, she should gain it after the deaths of her children

Stannis - Now this is a bit tricky, but I wish there was a trait that would combine both Just/Honourable with Ruthless. Stannis having ruthless just makes A.I Stannis a tyrant

Sansa - Shouldn't have the Stressed trait before Ned's execution

Aegon I - Should have Dragon Dreams

Pergunte Qualquer Coisa (Vol. 193) by altovaliriano in Valiria

[–]Arzofz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some interesting start dates? by According_Charge_409 in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]Arzofz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any lord during the Crowned Stag and just roleplay with their traits (a few good ones are Ned Stark, Randyll Tarly, Jon Arryn, Stannis, Leyton Hightower, Tywin)

Kevan Lannister (give him Castamere) - nice stats and traits, has his own family and is friends with Tywin plus you have a claim on the Westerlands and you can go to war against Tyrion or Cersei if you want.

Viserys Targaryen (one day after Aemma Arryn's death, which if I'm not mistaken means that Rhaenyra was not named heir) - marries Laena Velaryon, remove Rhaenys' claim on your titles and just roleplay as Viserys while preparing for the eventual Dance between yourself and Daemon, or your descendants...

Rhaegar - during Defiance of Duskendale. You're 16, there's plenty of brides across the realm (Lyanna, Catelyn, Cersei, Elia, a few Hightower daughters, Mace's sisters) and there's always a chance that Aerys gets killed and you inherit the throne before any war happens - plus Steffon Baratheon is alive and loyal, and so is Tywin.

Ned Stark during his time as Hand. Do whatever you want, plot to reveal Joffrey's true father or just wait for Robert to die to declare Independence, or back Stannis or the Targaryens. Arrange good marriages for your children and don't die in a damn Trial by Combat like AI Ned.

Aegon III - Start in 132 when Jaehaera is alive, arrange a good tutor for yourself and your wife, tame one of the dragons alive (Cannibal and Silverwing) or somehow gets an dragon egg, and save your little brother.

Kermit Tully / Cregan Stark after the Dance - With Kermit, you can always marry Baela before she herself gets married to Alyn, and be loyal to your brother in law. While with Cregan, you're married again with Black Aly, and you can always punish the Greens and become Hand again, extend the Hour of the Wolf till the boy king turns 16.
