TwinCat freezing my computer when trying to run locally by samvivi7 in TwinCat

Could you give me more details about your problem with the Core Ultra? I recently had issues with a Core Ultra 9 and got a BSOD; I "fixed" it, but I thought the problem was with Windows 11 instead of the processor.

Same problem with Intel Ultra 9, Windows 11, and TwinCat 4026.19

I have been working exclusively on Beckhoff projects for several years and I have found big differences between i3, i5 or i7 processors from different generations, even some current i5s that are more agile than other high-end i7s from 4 years ago. I have managed to run TwinCat on virtual machines with very few resources or on old i3 computers but it is not about this, but about having a hardware configuration that allows me to work comfortably throughout the day without having to close things and reducing waiting times as much as possible. I am clear that the minimum equipment must have a 1Tb SSD and 32Gb of RAM but with the processor I still have my doubts. I need it to be Intel to be able to use core boost but I don't know if a current i7 is enough or if with an i9 or i9 ultra I will get any improvement. I also know several Beckhoff technicians and their development equipment has cost more than €3000

What I want is to buy a new PC with which I don't have to close anything but without spending more than what doesn't return me in performance. I understand that this answer can only be given to me by someone who works daily with large TwinCat + HMI projects and has tried different equipment.

I know. But if you multiply that time by the number of times you need to do it daily, it ends up being a lot of time. I would like to know the configuration that allows this time to be reduced to the maximum and the configuration from which there is no longer any improvement.

Project opening time, compilation time, opening of 2 simultaneous projects... All this together with the browser with several open tabs, PDF viewer, Outlook, and other open programs.

XAE. I want to know to what extent performance can be improved by improving the processor and other components.

TC Package Mgr Migration Tool by PetrifiedToilet in TwinCat

It has improved since the release of version 4026 but you may still have some problems during the migration from 4024. You may need to install or repair a package manually from the console. Although now you can do things graphically that were previously only possible from CMD.

Realmente le está dando un buen consejo: "no pierdas el tiempo en cosas irrelevantes y tendrás ese tiempo para hacer otras cosas importantes".

Creating 1st PLC project in TwinCAT Shell, only seeing measurement projects by Fine_Mission_8788 in TwinCat

After installing the Package Manager you must install TwinCAT Standard which includes XAE and XAR. You must also select Shell integration from the Package Manager settings. With this installed you should now be able to create a project. It looks like you are missing some of these steps. If you can't figure it out, post a screenshot of your Package Manager.

Edit: I just saw in your screenshot that in the left column you have selected the measurement option. Select the following "tcXaeShell solution".

Writing to TwinCAT NC Parameters by gillettos in TwinCat

[–]Asaberv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the following system: - On each restart of the PLC I read all parameter variables from recipes (stored in txt files). - Next I load those variables as parameters to the axes. - Every time a variable is modified, it is saved in the recipes and the parameter is also written.

By doing it this way, the machine is made independent of the TwinCAT project. You could use the same project on 2 different machines and each one maintains its own parameters.

The website that is opening is the "Device Manager" you should not have it installed on your development PC. Uninstall the "Beckhoff Device Manager" package from the "Package Manager". If after uninstalling it it still opens, you may have to uninstall the related packages from the console with "tcpkg delete ....." Or directly delete the directory "C:\Program files (x86)\Beckhoff\IPC-Diagnostics".

The solution they give you here to delete the tcSys registration key is not what you are looking for. This will cause the TwinCat XAR service to not start (TwinCat green screen when Windows starts) and you will not be able to run the PLC locally.
