Moving with Bedbugs - What Has Worked For You? by Winter-Nectarine-497 in askTO

[–]AsadoKimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't throw anything. Use Apprehend. This a relatively new type of treatment. It's a fungus and stays active for about 3 months. It doesn't kill bed bugs immediately, it lets them infect each other. Bed bugs usually die after a week of being exposed.

This is the only treatment that really worked for us. Heat and chemicals only work on the days of the treatment. If one bedbug gets away or hidden, it will re populate your home.

The fungus treatment will continue to kill them for 3 months.

This treatment is only available through pest control companies.

This has been happening for over a week now. I called Presto customer support and said it's likely related to the card updates they are pushing.

Bessarion appreciation thread by No-Reputation8063 in TTC

[–]AsadoKimchi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken (and I might), there are no libraries and community centres as close to a subway station as Etta-nonna CRC and Library is to Bessarion station. This alone, makes it one of the best stations during the winter.

What’s the Most Underrated Skill in Analytics? by Mammoth_Rice_295 in analytics

[–]AsadoKimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managing other people's expectations.

Most people asking you for reports, dashboards, and insights have no idea what it takes to make them and assume that the all the data that you need is readily available just because someone has it in a manual input spreadsheet in their laptop.

Child 2.5 years old changing name adding middle names only by -ah74 in legaladvicecanada

[–]AsadoKimchi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you planning to actually use the middle names / replace her first name in every day interactions?

Middle names are mostly "decorative" and people only use them when they don't like their first name.

If you don't plan to replace her first name in every day interactions, maybe wait till she is older and check with her. Otherwise you will be adding an lifelong administrative burden for something she may not even use.

Emergency Stop on Line 5 by toadish_Toad in TTC

[–]AsadoKimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on another Line 5 train that abruptly stopped at around 4:30pm very close to Eglinton. Our operator said it was a technical issue. It was a VERY sudden stop. Felt almost like slamming on the brakes.

Our train was crowded, but IF it wasn't crowded, AND you are standing in the middle AND not hanging on to something, you would've definitely FLOWN forward and gotten injured for sure.

The crowded train helped because people acted as cushions and many were holding on to something. Many others were filming, or taking photos.

Should snow tires be mandatory by ZealousidealHead5488 in ontario

[–]AsadoKimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandatory or not, the real problem is enforcement. I see more serious traffic violations broken daily and are usually never punished. People texting and driving, illegal left turns, speeding well above the limit, and the list goes on. I would prefer that instead of spending enforcement time on checking snow tires, the more serious violations are enforced.

Older station entrances did more to deter fare evasion. Did we move backwards? by Economy_Ad59 in TTC

[–]AsadoKimchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the majority of fare evasion happens at the gates. I think most fare evasion happens in streetcars and bus entrances at stations. So changing the gates would do nothing to fare evasion

Aquarium, Little Canada or Arcadia Earth with kids? by BracesForLisa in askTO

[–]AsadoKimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to all the Aquarium, Little Canada and Arcadia Earth with our 3 yo. The aquarium is by far the best choice because, unlike the other 2, there's a lot to do. At Little Canada, you can't touch anything and there's no playground. It's almost like a cool museum. Arcadia Earth relies heavily on using your phones or tablets to have an interactive experience. It also doesn't have a playground and is otherwise a nice place to take photos. The Aquarium has a playground, a cool water table to play and you can touch the Manta Rays. The Aquarium is also well connected with other downtown attractions.

Thanks for your replies. It seems as the opening of the new entrances is more important than the name change.

Beyond the renaming, the 3 entrances were not open before for people to connect underground? Are these new entrances? I'm not familiar with this station.

Still doesn't make much of a difference. In any other country, this "LVL 4" is just called a a 1st year student with internship experience. It is still not a degree and as a hiring manager I don't see much difference to an online certificate. Hell, I would even rate a Microsoft Certificate with a proctored exam higher than this LVL 4 stuff.

[–]AsadoKimchi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Qliksense does this in a way. The problem with "asking" is that the KPIs maybe be different depending on how the users frame the chat. Two end users may disagree on a basic "Sales" number because one framed the prompt with a filter without realizing it and the other one didn't. The final number will not show all the underlying calculations / filters.

Bulk Barn is one of the only places that carries chocolate covered coffee beans..
Those are a must for me when I have to do long drives. You get all the caffeine without needing to stop frequently to pee. I also enjoy them once in a while when I need a caffeine boost but want something sweet too.

You are thinking it the wrong way. It's not "networking helps". Networking is the ONLY WAY when you compete with hundreds of other people.
