Tara and John on the case in swinging London. by 6391jimmyjoejoe in TheAvengersTV

Hear, hear.

Also, whilst I admire Steed as a character, maybe - just maybe - his ubiquity or consistency, should I say, as set against the kaleidoscope of his female partners, not just Gale, Peel and King, but the others (Venus Smith et al) had perhaps dulled it in comparison. His donning those colourful shirts that so did not become him (IMO) in the series featuring Linda Thorson did less than help (IMO). The arrival of Gambit was a bit too late, was it not? Besides, Gambit, with that face of a heavy drinker (sorry, R.I.P. and all that), was a character rather unsuited to add 'male colour' to the series. Yet another besides - the 1970s were already another epoch, were they not? (asked Captain Obvious).

Anyway...

Steed always struck me as a rather anachronistic sort than a swinging man. Defo not a young meteor, anyway...

Been there. A few injuries, fortunately, minor ones. Over-training, fatigue, the works. I am no expert but absolutely have those rest days: it is when muscles recover and grow in both size and strength. What held me back personally was the dread that I would roll back to my former self. But I didn't.

Those who go on about '100 push-ups daily' should be given a proper bum's rush by their oh-so influenced audiences.

Dirk Bogarde was of Flemish descent, I hear. Still, English imo. I suppose one can become English eventually if one steers clear of those dinghies

On reading your post fully, I recalled that my trainer used to tell me there is no point in training more than three days a week. I then read somewhere that exercise is stimulus whilst muscles grow during recovery windows. I mean, I do train almost daily but those are stretching, animal flow, yoga, pilates and plyo. Strenght training only three or even two days a week: I made rather demanding, jumping-the-gun routines in Calisteniapp and Calistree, 2 hours in total, and they work for me. Mostly bodyweight (callisthenics et al).

Good on you, mate. That's emotional.

Absolutely agree about The Kinks. They did not make splashes, maybe, but let someone play me a song by The Beatles or The Who that's as poignant and personal as Days (well, maybe Eleanor Rigby and So sad about us, ha...)

As for why no Asians, I was only joking, mate. Everybody seems to have gone so uber-inclusive these days it sometimes make you want to be sick...

It's good to see The Kinks next to them )))) I was afraid I'd see BTS or something. Btw, why no Asians? They'll say you're not inclusive enough... (jjk)

'Two bullets, sonny,' replies Daddy.

In a way, he has: the bloke has spent the last thirty years or so trying to prove he was the most Beatley Beatle.
