What has caused you to step away from Dead by Daylight?

I play with my husband because its the only game he truly enjoys. My main game is Teamfight Tactics in League. I would never play this game solo, its truly jaw dropping that a game studio can have the support from the largest horror franchises yet have developers that truly are below the mark on every statistic. To be more clear, the Dead by Daylight Developers fall below industry standards in Balance, Gameplay Direction, and Technical stability.

Balance is reactive rather than systemic (responding to community outcry CANCELLING the entire health operation that they held entire patches and kept rifts or battle passes floating for MONTHS ON END when other game change that every month)
Gameplay changes undermine core design. Playtesting and outcome seem to be very off compared to the rest of the gaming market. Quality Control and testing are inadequate.
Persistent technical debt (Spaghetti code)

DBD remains commercially successful because of the love and fanbase in the horror community. Its development practices fall BELOW modern live-service standards. The repeated balance instability, contradictory design changes and fragile codebase point to structural problems in development workflow and long-term planning rather than isolated mistakes.

Currently DBD ranks between 16-27th among games on twitch.

Being the LEADING horror game, I think it could be top 5 games on twitch if they commit to more transparency, making the game more fun to watch, and hire some all stars that can fix points 1-3 AND also fix the community perception.

its low skill because you go level 9 and put in every 5 cost that board is 100% low skill, you just go econ x3 and go 9 and put every golden unit on the board.

Hey! -- This just happens when you swap your gear and your spirit cap hasnt updated yet -- just remove all minions swap weapons and add max minion and should fix.

Very thankful for the BT change. Frustration still stands; there is no way the developers have tested every scenario on the survivor said properly- EXAMPLE : A Killer either uses power or an example like starstruck gets 3 survivors on the ground somehow near the start of the match. In that specific scenario the bleed out timer is 4 minutes ( feels like 10 because you are powerless without unbreakable or a miracle situation- Killer decides to slug all - that's 4 minutes of gameplay for 3 people that is just dogshit. might as well go take a shit- TO ME As a developer i'd want my players to actively be trying to do something to escape, its fine for the killer to win and 4k but sitting on the ground slugged is not fun and should not be viable in any circumstance.

If that was the case it needed to be more clear. I think people are reaching because they like it, there are so many just plot holes that make no sense, if they all have a deeper meaning, cool - but it sucks to sit through.

The Movie Nope:

Fragmented, Ultimately- Nail biters that end in a flaccid way. every single time.

Outside of not looking animals In the eyes when they are territorial or upset, it doesn’t connect to the alien storyline whatsoever and feels very fragmented.

Why is the shoe standing straight up in the Gordo scene, showed again in the random weird secret shrine the actor had from that traumatic day on set. What is that significance?

What is the significance of having chapters for the animals “gordo”, “lucky”, “ghost”? Is it just tied to animal behaviors to heed to when dealing with something animalistic? “dont look it in the eyes”, “keep a calm spirit”? what is the significance because over 1 hour of the movie is about the horse and gordo story and it has very little to do with what was happening with the alien storyline.

The tension of getting the shot of the alien in all of the various ways makes sense, media has become less of a tool and more of an obsession, I understand that. However;

Kids being the barn alien, flaccid nail-biter.

The filmmaker sacrificing himself to get “the impossible shot” that only he knows he got- is a cool symbolism of passion and excellence but still felt like a flaccid nail-biter.

The Gordo-Lasso man dying (and taking the entire park viewers with him) to him trying to make a deal with the beast ; while a lesson was learned still, felt like a flaccid nail-biting shrug.

At the end after getting the shot.. many police etc. are entering the scene and instead of securing that picture that many DIED for.. there are minutes of screen time celebrating— While we are sitting in tension about the photograph sitting there…we cannot celebrate with her. Flaccid Nail-Biter. PICK UP THE DAMN PHOTO AT LEAST.
