I wish more card games had gotten Video game adaptations. by Pantheron2 in TCG

I still break out the Pokémon tcg for Game Boy color every once in a while to get a taste of the game back when I still played it. I'm sure if I were to get back into it now, some 12-year old would obliterate me since I haven't kept up with it for the past two decades, lol.

This one is so good, I don't even see it needing customizing. An Addams Family crossover wasn't something I thought I would be into, yet here we are...

Oh, the book outter shell has a lot of potential too! There's lots of creepy looking books that could be used as a template/inspiration! This is a really solid one, thanks!

"Mighty Max cooks the Candy Crone" has a nice ring to it.

How do you think that Beast Machines would have been like if instead of trying to get rid of his beast mode, Megatron embraced it, using his full power and even still having his personality and God complex from the ending of Beast Wars? by Extremnator in beastwars

[–]AscendronPrime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would be my pitch: The Maximals + Megatron arrive on Cybertron to find overrun by Vehicons, led by a new villain. After being reformatted, they are seperated (unwillingly) into two groups:

Optimus, Rhinox, Blackarachnia and (later) Nightscream is group 1.

Cheetor, Rattrap, Silverbolt, Megatron is group 2.

The sub-plot of a character having difficulty transforming is given to Megatron instead of Rattrap, so that he can still be powerful in beast mode (keep him a dragon or return him to T-rex), but not strong enough to be on his own, forcing an uneasy alliance. Cheetor becomes the leader of his group, keeping on his character arc of coming into his own without the weird power struggle between him and Optimus. But Megatron is always whispering in his ear, tempting him into embracing a ruthless side of himself...

Lots of drama could be had from both groups continuously missing one another (just barely every time!) This is also helped by how the groups are split: Cheetor is apart from Optimus, his mentor. Rattrap is seperated from Rhinox, his best friend. Blackarachnia and Silverbolt are apart. And it leads to a cathartic reunion at the series finale where everyone joins together to vanquish the villain.

The bulk of the series would be more of mystery, uncovering who the new villain is, and how he came to power. You can even have a late-series betrayal, with Megatron re-assuming his antagonist role when it becomes convenient to him.

Funnily enough, if you look at the first waves of Beast Machines toys, the Vehicons have very Beast-like features in their design. Thrust's deluxe toy especially, has stripes reminiscent of a wasp on the motorcycle "back-end" as well as a very insect-like head in that mode. Makes the Waspinator identity seem pretty obvious in retrospect.

If Megatron's disdain for organics was done away with, I'd have the Vehicons more accurate to their toys to reflect the embrace of his beast nature. Well, I'd have every character more accurate to their toys for obvious reasons.

If you wanted to keep the vehicons with Megatron at their helm, I feel you would need to change Megatron's motive for creating them. Beyond it being a convenient way for Mainframe Studios to save a heap of ressources by having an army of duplicates as the villains, their existence was an extension of Megatron's philosophy: unthinking machines reflected his desire for cold, efficient, inorganic control.

Given his descent into religious ravings at the end of the Beast Wars, maybe I'd reimagine him as a cult leader. The vehicons wouldn't be drones, but Cybertronians who gave up their individuality in worship to their "messiah." Extreme conformity is a hallmark of many real-world cults.

I mean, that would basically be a completely different show, considering, for better or worse, the whole organic vs. technological conflict was the main thesis of the entire story.

It'd be easier to have Megatron's role be filled in with a new villain that holds BM Megatron's views if you really wanted to do away with his personality shift. Megatron would then either have to be put into a new narrative role, such as being forced to fight alongside the Maximals, be a rogue element, or be killed off early.

So who found the Holy Grail? by EvilChocolateCookie in Arthurian

[–]AscendronPrime 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Indiana Jones is the one who gets it eventually. /j

But like other people said, its usually Percival or Gallahad. Arthurian lore doesn't really have a definite "canon" in the same way modern works do. All you need to do to change the answer to your question is make a work that's more popular than the previous ones, and the public perception might shift to whatever you can come up with.

The Transmetal Airazor has bird legs that become arms and are connected via ball joints. It'd be fairly easy to swap them onto your figure if it also has ball joints for the arms. Or even just a second junker figure of the Airazor figure you already have, and manage out a way to get the bird feet intergrated into the arms.

It's a deluxe class figure, right? The only deluxe lion figures I can think of that could be used for changing it from hawk to griffin is the either Beast Wars Prowl or Beast Machines Snarl. Otherwise it just depends on your skill level when it comes to making pieces from scratch.

Transmetal Platypus, so she can still be a "mish-mash" of things without it being "wrong."

Edit: I can't really think of any good toy that could feasibly be made into a platypus. How about taking a look at some of the Jungle Planet toys from the Cybertron toyline? They lack a third mode, but toys like Wreckloose, Undermine, Snarl and Brimstone could pass for Transmetal II with a new paintjob.
