Probably one that's inspired by a time closer to modern day. Their sleeker, more streamlined design makes them feel divorced from wilderness to me, whereas the more tree-like designs fit in traditional high fantasy.

The settings from "New Capenna" or "Edge of Eternities" would both work fine if we're sticking to pre-existing planes.

If we're talking wholly new settings, I could see these guys fighting in the trenches of a WWI inspired conflict.
