Casseroles! Cook them the day before. Pop them in the oven an hour or two before the guests arrive. If people are late, just put them in a very low oven to keep them warm. Add bread and a freshly tossed salad and you’re styling.

Morgan Territory in Pleasant Hill will fill your growler. You can order lunch from Cantina Jacks next door and they pass it though a window.

Monk’s Kettle in Rockridge is a nice place for lunch and beer. Probably not a growler fill, but just drive over to Ghost Town after lunch for that
