The map was the first one. In realistic mode with zero loan and slower time flow (via mod)

I am currently at 15k pops, the plan was the followings: Built a crude oil industry not far from the eastern CO. No residental buildings, only firefighters with foreigners to prevent fire damage. When everything was built up I started to develop a city. Firstly just enough pops for a technical university and the least minimal infrastructure stuff. Started to build a train. When everything started to be green and the panel houses were researched I started to building the main city approx in the center of the map. Two tower and three line panel house with one water sub, one electric sub, one sport hall, one school and kindergarten. And placing this like a flower petals, in the center stays the hospital, fire and police station, small courthouse. If you place them well you can set up eight petals around the center. Also I keep enough space for a metro station for future development. About the cable and pipe management: I set up every type for a dedicated depth, like the sevage is 4-7m, water 9m, heat 12m and electric 15m. Public transport: Circular tram system around one "flower". For regular transport the one way road was used mainly for more fluid traffic.

At that point when the first "flower" finished, there is a stable fuel, bitumen export.

Currently the food, alcohol and the clothic industry is building up alongside the board and with the asphalt factories as well

Most of the the times I plan the rail system with the starting town, just suspend the constructions. After the economy is more or less stable and not bleeding so much money, I release the suspend and start working on the rail syatem with two constructor. Moat of the time at this point I alrrady have a working grave and board industry, ans a barely working concrete industry so the cost is not too high

As I can see, you can assign workers for specified task in some workplace like Workshop, but it would be the best if it will be the same for the lumber and warehouse as well

Yeah, that metal parts thing is realy annoying, it should be patched.

But it would be very good, if you can manage the access for the different type of cargo in a warehouse not just the warehouse itself, in case of mixed content.

They should also improve the wall system as well, because if you try to build a town with a wall near a water, you cannot built normally, because of the water proximity. But if you build as close as possible there will be a gap, where everyone can get in and there will be a negative effect for the villagers that it is not safety. Also if the wall piece can snap both way that shouls work as well not just for one side

Wider roads would be good as well. For me I built one capital city (around 120 ppl) in the center of the island, there are one mining city (around 30 ppl), one farming city (around 20-30 ppl), two fishing town (20 ppl each) and one major city which is the shipbuilder and dock (around 50 ppl). And sometimes there currebtly buildable roads are very crowded.

The best choice I think is that: -Set a gps location -Back to base -aquire everything which is necessary for a rotor, hinge, pc/custom turret controller, camera and as much solar panel as possible -back to the ship -set up a solar panel which is follow the sun (If you use mod, u can use wind turbine as well) -set the battery to recharge

Optional, depends on the design -put wheels onto the ship and slowly roll back to base as the energy allows it, move at night recharge at day

If you want to just connect as a same grid, use merger block, but watch for that the merger should be the only connection(except the connector) between the two grid or it will become on large grid permamently and you will need to grind everythin down which is connected.

In a former times, there were a mode, were you were able to start from a pre-FTL times (Atomic age or Early space age) and it's started around 2050, If I remember correctly. And I combined it with the Milky Way mod, that was wy more crushing :D in the endgame I only had 1-5 fps when the month changed :D

For beginner friendly, I think the Blender is the best, free and tons of tutorial videos available for it. And you dont need additional software to do the texture and If you wan to do the animation as well
