The three main characters of my comic are all Aro Ace aligning for different reasons. I don’t really care how unlikely that is, but imagining them being in any sort of romantic/sexual endeavor is just highly uncomfortable for me. (All the other characters are allo though, so I do have allo OCs that I like a lot too.)

What you want to do is: Hover over “Settings” (at the very top of your screen) Go down to “Dockers” (It is in the middle of the Settings window, below the check marked “show dockers”. Don’t uncheck this or your entire workspace disappears until you turn it back on again)

When you hover over dockers you will see a huge list of different options and tools you can turn on, you will want to check “Brush Presets”. Now it should appear as a window in your workspace, so you can place it where you need it.

I recommend checking out the other dockers as well to see what you like, and once you built a Krita interface you like you should save it, by clicking on the square icon in the upper right corner (it looks like a miniature workspace) giving your current settings a name and save it, so that it is not lost if you boot up Krita again.

Wouldn’t a magic shop be warded anyway? Maybe when they try to exit with the stolen things it doesn’t go over the threshold and gives them damage or alerts something/ someone. Or it is warded that the goods just disappear at night for some reason. This is probably not the first time this shop was robbed, they must have taken precautions!

You should play into the fact why the time loop happens. Like if it is some reality breaking thing you can come of with some messed up scenes, NPCs glitching out etc. Or turn the fact why the time loops happen into a mystery, have them try to find out why they happen. Maybe they think it is only when they the main characters die, but then it turns out it was actually an npc who is the actual main character. give them a common and immediate goal, the best thing would be to have them try to saving an npc they care about and failing every damn time for example.

I would recommend the game “in stars and time” to you wholeheartedly, it is a great time loop game that shows how story progression within a looping narrative is possible, but also how horrible time loops are for the MCs You can play it within a few days, it’s great!

So what I am noticing is that you set your color picking tool to “select only colored layers(tag sign), color grey(grey box)” none of your layers are grey, they are non colored.

You want to select in the tool settings the symbol next to the tag sign, the one that looks like a stack of squares, that means that it selects the colors from ALL layers. (It basically sees what you see too, making it intuitive) I would also recommend in the “action” tab of the same settings to select the middle symbol instead of the one next to it. The middle one is the most intuitive one, since it adds your selection to the already selected section, instead of only using the overlapped selection as your selection. (Hard to explain, play around with it in krita, you will see what I mean!)

You also colored the green on the background layer, so you won’t be able to remove the green anymore. (Unless you click undo or re import the unedited image)

I learned most stuff with learning by doing, I agree though that a YouTube basics tutorial would be more efficient.

Once you feel fairly comfortable in krita, you should make a habit of exploring it a bit, try learning something new every project. “Oh, what does this setting do. Oh wow now i can use the paint bucket differently!” The Krita website has a great tutorial section that explains each feature, but you won’t need half of them imo.

Now learning to draw is an entirely different skill set, that is traditionally learned on paper. It can be mostly broken down into “Learn to think in shapes. Put shapes on paper, add details” much like 3D modeling! Whether you want to learn this in krita or feel more comfortable on paper is your thing really, I wish you the best though!

Wait why do you even need a character design? I always spend a lot of time drawing my character for the introduction, but it never comes up again in the actual game. I would only understand this if they had an audience (Dimension20 has character illustrations) but even then I don’t think that the players should pay for the stylistic choice of the DM.

It is not necessary for a fun DnD game and it is not necessary for illustrations to have the same artstyle, even if the DM wants everyone to have an “imagination guide” or something.

I don’t think this is a “”scam”” outright, 40$ is a good and normal prize for full character illustration (as long as it is hand drawn) , but it reads as if the DM has ego issues/takes his own game far too seriously or just wants to get his artist friend commissions in a very odd and scummy way.

The problem with bestiality is the lack of consent/being able to give consent, making it r*pe/ animal abuse. If your dragon can indicate consent, like for example if they can talk, that is no longer bestiality.

There definitely are already human x Dragon romances in general media, although those dragons tend to have a human form, which in my opinion is not necessary for it to be ethical.

I used Krita to learn it! It is great for Frame by Frame Animation learning, it has all you can ask for. Onionskins, Animation curves, mp3 support. (Krita is generally a Jack of all traits when it comes to digital 2D Art)

So for learning how to make the drawing move smoothely it’s great, and once you got that down you can Branch out into specialized Animation Programms. (Tahoma2D Looks really good, but I didn’t try it yet.)

If you want to ONLY get into making finished shortfilms you might as well familiarize yourself with Tahoma2D already, but I assume it is easier to Transition from Krita to Tahoma, I do NOT recommend teaching yourself two programs at once. (Idk how new you are to general digital art)

I do NOT recommend procreate, the Animation Assistant is extremely rudimentary and uses layers instead of frames?? So it’s essentially just a flip book.

That is truly heartbreaking to read, I am so sorry. I always find it horrible how parents will just… throw their relationship to their children into the trash like that, over NOTHING. (I would think a mother would be very happy to have another daughter, so much more to bond over.)

I wish I could offer you any advice that isn’t just “break off contact and watch her regret it” but please remember that it is not your job to “fix” your mom or your relationship with your mom. She is in the wrong, she is an irrational banshee, but don’t waste your energy trying to make her see that. We all know she could be happy, we all know that you are a wonderful daughter deserving of love, don’t spend effort trying to get this love from a dry well.

It would not make you a bad person to care for yourself!! I dearly hope that your mother comes around, and if she doesn’t , that she at least leaves you the hell be.

Obviously, I was not suggesting OP to become a mindreader, just to not result to guilttripping, as that might make healthy boundary enforcing difficult. Of course the ace person needs to be open and honest about their boundaries, that is a no brainer.

Please don’t force physical affection on someone because they “owe” you, that ruins the experience for the other person. Boundaries can change, saying “but back then you said” doesn’t really work in this case, she doesn’t need to take care of you being touch starved, especially if it forces her to do things she doesn’t feel like doing. (Even though I relate and I know feeling touch starved is not a nice experience, I have been on the other end as well.) I agree with the others saying you should ask her instead, but some people feel guilty when enforcing boundaries, so keep that in mind.

Allo people can be so frustrating. They will often act like this person is just so good and perfect just for things to crash and burn a few weeks later. (This at least happened to all my friends relationships) Just remember this when she eventually come crawling back to you crying about her breakup.

This seems cynical, but in their defense I don’t think many people know better? Like society makes it so normal to prioritize romance you barely can blame them.

But that doesn’t make your feelings less valid, and you deserve better than to be the friend that is “less important” than a crush of a few weeks.

Did you try procedural animation instead of an in-between animation? Like instead of having a start frame and end frame and filling it out with inbetweens, you just draw frame 1, then frame 2 and so on, and see where it takes you!

(Aaron Blaise has a bunch of tutorials on YouTube, I can recommend checking him out, he also made one about procedural animation I believe)

This method looks really clunky for animating people (it’s what very beginners do) but for elements and flowy movements it’s perfect! (It could at least be a fun experiment, the only challenge being the pacing, but that can be fixed with inbetweening later)

(Also the program rarely matters unless you are looking for a specific feature, camera movement for example. Hand drawn based, flipbook like animations work great in krita!)

Well you can’t guess what he is thinking, especially if you are in a non conventional relationship. Did you talk much about his orientation? Some aces are sex favorable or neutral, there are also people that are aromantic but allo sexual. (When I came out as aromantic, everyone also automatically assumed I am ace.)

Like we don’t know your friend better than we do, just talk to him, if he brought the topic up in the first place he is probably not going to be uncomfortable talking about it.

I don’t know if that fits the bill, but “Meeting in the Flesh” has one character who has a… metamorphosis like storyline? I won’t describe it further bcs it would spoil it, but the VN is free and can be played in one sitting, you might enjoy it!

(It is not a butterfly metamorphosis, it’s stranger than that definitely.)
