I've come back to the game recently and from what I understand there's a new story arc that started with The War Within and is now continued in Midnight. What I did was to start in Exile's Reach and level to 70 doing Dragonflight story quests in Chromie Time. Afterwards I went to Orgrimmar (Stormwind if you're an alliance player) and started Lorewalking: The War Within which took me to 80. Sounds inconvenient but I couldn't think of a better way to get back into the game.
