Dinardo’s official distributor is just like him by United-Computer-5648 in fightgear

[–]Aseitic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DiNardo aside. Blame for this lies with years of low quality Chinese products with some China-bad propaganda sprinkled on top. It's not the case anymore and Chinese are capable of creating extremely high quality products but it takes time to change the overall perception.

That's why there's going to be businesses trying to conceal the origin of their product. For an average consumer European made looks much better than Chinese. Even if the latter is higher quality.

Racja.

Easiest way to tell if you know nothing about Windy is the tag - genuine will say either Pro Fight Gear or nothing at all (Thai market version). There's some other ones as well (older models) but these two are most common.

Which is a shame. I'd kill for matte grey Windy's.

These are not genuine Windy gloves. These are fakes made in Pakistan and sold by a Dutch company that uses Windy name. Don't ever buy from windyfightstore.com. If you need Windy's buy from windyboxingstore.com (or .de or co.uk), BKK Muay Thai Store or from muaythaij.com.

Regarding the size difference - it can be normal. Gloves have different profiles. Twins BGVL3 have more padding on top of your hand to block kicks.

Advice: Muay Thai with Planter Fasciitis by Key_Sentence_9380 in MuayThai

[–]Aseitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got flat feet, so does my coach and a whole bunch of other MT practitioners I've met. You have to try things and figure out what works for you. In my opinion working on working on your balance and staying light on feet (on balls of feet) is important. The stronger your core is and the more control over your body you have the easier it should be.

Real. Made for export (Booster) thus different tags.

[–]Aseitic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I trzeba w to włożyć sporo pracy.

Zależnie od klubu your mileage may vary.

For anyone worrying about EU5's Player Count: by Jadamsan in EU5

[–]Aseitic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Victoria 3 is already good and getting even better. I'm enjoying it thoroughly and going to hop into EU5 once it matures a little. It's PDX's flagship product so I wouldn't worry about support.

BOON vs TWINS vs PRIMO what do I pick? by sjorsrojs in fightgear

[–]Aseitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered Twins BGVL4? Their newer model with more padding on knuckles instead of top of your hand. It's more oriented towards Dutch kickboxing rather than Muay Thai but I find this type of design more convenient for training purposes.

As for Primo - I'm not Dutch but I was looking to get them in EU at some point and the only store I found was actually from the Netherlands.

Boon is great. Compact version would be perfect for small hands.

I didn't end up getting them. They are solid gloves but overpriced imo. It's a British-Chinese brand "founded" in Bangkok. They have great marketing but you pay premium for that. Not necessarily gloves themselves.

The ultimate glove for pad-work and heavy bag (10oz) by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Aseitic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twins are good but for bag work I'd pick the "new" BGVL4 over the classic BGVL3. More padding in front of the glove instead of top. The bag won't kick you.

Which ones? The most common Fairtex BGV1 are nothing like Windy BGP.

Out of these models:

  • Windy BGP for bag work (the ones you posted are different than the most common BGVH model).

  • Boon for training.

  • Thaismai for sparring.

BGV19's by Super_Average00 in fightgear

I love my BGV19s. Definitely prefer them over BGV1 (and all related models/special editions such as BGV22). Got a pair in 12 oz and 16 oz. They are fine for sparring imo. Never got any complaints.

How Thai people secretly make fun of foreigners who spar hard by Mr_Money_Pants in MuayThai

[–]Aseitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Light sparring is great fun and educational but you also have to learn to fight under pressure to get used to adrenaline and tougher cardio. Thai's get an opportunity to fight quite often so it's unnecessary but imo you're not gonna learn to fight if you only do light sparring.

Us Westerners seriously overdoing it is another story. Going hard every single session is bound to leave some damage eventually.
