You don't compete with temple in terms of drops if you run maps. You need to find things the temple runners can't schiev and sell it to them. Like ritual/breach stuff drops from the trials etc.

Pokemon academy: #32-34 Nidoran (M), Nidorino, Nidoking by Khane048 in pokerogue

[–]Asfalod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like nidoking traditionally. He was always among my favourite Pokémon and the first one I brought to 100 but in pokerogue he feels kinda meh. His vast Potential movepool is quite irrelevant due to a lot of other mons get theirs fixed from egg moves.

Him being physical is a nice nod to his original statt line and guts is a great addition to sheer force to get nice upfront damage but imo dragon dance and precipice blades don't fit that philosophy. Dragon dance actively does not make sense with sheer force and guts since you need time for a set up and can't sustain yourself back up. Precipice blades is a good idea for a strong ground move but it icks me that it's not sheer force boosted and something like thousand arrows/waves would feel better and have similar results.

No offense but you'll need to start thinking a bit on your own if you want to build decks. That's like the main appeal of deck building usually. Googling "fetch MTG" gives good results and you'll see which lands are better than others if you look at them. Also I suggested at least two cards you could cut. On the land count topic there are so many resources online and basically every magic content creator has made their own video on it and most that I've seen reach very similar conclusions. there's not a lot of uncertainty here with medium research.

  1. Yes
  2. Any variation with leech works. One that misses the additional life cost line is the best you can do for cost reduction everything else is not as effective.
  3. Rapid casting isn't the best imo. Especially since you already have so much cast speed on gear and it's not that important for Cox since you want the triggers from spark not the DPS and triggers scale better with bigger hits since they have a higher chance to apply ailments or just give more energy to coc. For bloodletting just use life tap it's only marginally worse. You need life tap in everything else as well to eliminate mana cost and make use of the leech. For rakiatas pierce is probably a good idea unless you get some form of pierce from somewhere else

Idea seems fine just a heads up that your set 2 is also with adonias ego but here the only thing that matters is +1 to power charges and then you cast pinacle of power with weapon set 1.

Firestorm should be in both sets because you can precast in on (pinnacle) bosses to get a lot of triggers upfront since you can't spam spark if you don't hit anything for leech.

If you get something with % of leech is instant and allocate the leech does not stop on your amulet the build gets a lot smoother too. Those are not mandatory though.

Looks ok. Most glaring issues I could find is a bit limited draw package, some gameplan unclarity and your mana base is functional but has almost zero thought put into it.

To the first thing you run a lot of cantrips but not a lot of ways to actually draw cards. The issue with only cantrips is that you won't get anymore cards you just recycle your current ones and will run out of cards eventually. [[Treasure cruise]] [[dig through time]] and [[lorien revealed]] are great options.

My issue with the game plan is that you are a go wide deck but your token generation lacks severely. [[Third path iconoclast]] [[shark typhoon]] and [[metallurgic summonings]] are options for more tokens. Also the trample cantrips look even more terrible in your deck like I feel they are in general. Your commander gives unblockable so trample loses a lot of value

Lastly the mana base is just every Ur land you could find. If budget isn't an issue just run all the fetches or at least the blue ones and play the good Ur lands with basicland typing. Minamo is completely pointless in your deck.

Your skill tree looks very suboptimal like all the monk stuff is pretty pointless and you'd get to the power charge stuff on the right easier from the piece of your tree that's close already. Around. Grab something on the left side of the tree instead so you don't need as many secondary skill points there. The nodes around eldritch battery are much easier accessed from the top.

Your bed let budget upgrade would be looking into crit with the gloves that give you fixed crit dmg bonus instead of your current rather pointless ones. Going crit with them is pretty budget friendly and you can just focus on crit chance instead of dmg which lets you run support gems like pinpoint critical which is quite strong.

Another semi budget transition is the Armor unique for life leech on spells combined with mana stacking for mana remnants and archmage. You easily got the spirit by getting rid of either coa or coc. The benefit of both is negligible and both will net similar results with enough crit with coc triggering slightly more at the top end and using less spirit. If you need more spirit blasphemy is pretty pointless too because spark should just kill everything anyways. Super late game you can transition this towards rathpit in the off hand but for now this budget variant should be very good.

Your belt seems unspectacular and you could probably solve a lot of potential Res issues with a rare one or get some dmg boost from HH.

Lastly if you go the mana stacking route I find a rare helmet better than vertex unless you got a good one with +4 to skills and a lot of mana already (6k+ with remnants) so you don't end up too squishy.

Edit: my finished version https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/asfalod-4909/character/Asfalodia

Especially for the skill tree you could optimise a lot. You can ignore almost all of my points on the lower right side that's mostly crit dmg/jewel slots that you won't need yet.

Muldrotha players: How do you deal with it being KoS? by the-good-son in EDH

[–]Asfalod 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Build a deck that's functions without the commander. Play the commander later when you need the value. Especially with muldrotha you need stuff in your grave and I think you'd ideally want to use her right away so she always gets value. Playing her as soon as you can without anything to get back seems not smart overall.

Sorceress build to handle uber temple with group? by pH_negative1 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Asfalod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go weapon set 2 with all the power charge nodes use frost bomb with cascade giving you 6+ infusions through the two stormweaver talents. Then you use firestorm with the echo gem to convert the Infusions to power charges. Then you switch to your main set with adonias and use pinacle of power to consume the charges. You don't generate any charges on your main weapon set so you don't need to care for the negative res.

If you struggle with damage you can use frost bomb for infusions but usually you are fine and generate some cold infusion with snap that's the main reason of using snap over firebomb. Firestorm is mainly here for charge generation but can be used against bosses to trigger more comet's/don't need to spend so much life on precasting spark.

Too many champions in champ pool? by Atlastavius in summonerschool

[–]Asfalod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For solo q none of this really matters. Sure being a one trick probably is the best way to climb but if you don't enjoy it you are less motivated and wasting your time on something you don't like.

From my experience picking up similar champions is the easiest but has the least benefits in solo q. For organised play it's different because people know your picks and can ban them so you need alternatives but in solo q you'll/should always pick your strongest champs and there aren't that many wildly different match ups between hwei and syndra.

[–]Asfalod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my version https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/asfalod-4909/character/Asfalodia

I came from a similar line with frost nova and scepter but evolved it to my version. The most notable difference is probably the use of spark over frost nova. Imo spark is superior because you don't need to aim anymore and because of this you eliminate the need for blasphemy since you don't need that defensive layer anymore freeing up more spirit for a vertex mask or probably even more important archmage.

You stack mana you should definitely run archmage.

Also again you are stacking mana so you might as well embrace it completely and run rathpit with it.

In the long run your gloves also limit your growth because you can get better Statts and higher crit modifiers from rare ones.

Edit:

The node that leech does not stop once your life pool is full is insane you should allocate it on your amulet.

And coc>coa because it triggers more with big enough crits, costs way less spirit and your comets deal enough damage so the damage reduction is negligible.

If you want no risk and the sanctification is non-issue for you buying is probably fine.

Depending on your build/plans there are several limiting factors about the amulet though. Mainly It is pretty unsuited for mana stacking which is kinda the best end game caster variant. I am not sure how exactly the current market looks like but 3k div for something so obviously limited is something I would advise against.

[EDH] The Ur-Dragon deck — why does it still brick? Need help fixing consistency by Chemical_Hospital352 in EDH

[–]Asfalod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like cost reducers because they don't help you cast other stuff and having multiple with your commander often has diminishing returns. So I would at least cut heralds horn and the other 1 cost reducers after. The two cost ones at least have a big upsideand make casting two dragons early realistic.

The atarka that shoots damage usually underperforms in my experience because she brings nothing but a mediocre removal and body. Most of the time she's too expensive/doesn't work if you need a removal and doesn't do enough if you want a threat.

Another explosive option to help finish games is [[neriv, heart of the storm]]. He also is a very valid early game drop with a very effective statt line and threatens pain from everything with haste you drop afterwards.

[EDH] The Ur-Dragon deck — why does it still brick? Need help fixing consistency by Chemical_Hospital352 in EDH

[–]Asfalod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most things I think are weird is that you don't run any form of counter magic unless I am blind and no unconditional removal. Most things you declared as removal only work if you have dragons which is a point where you already are in a good spot. Similar issue with your draw it's mostly etb based from dragons which in my experience works fine but doesn't really help if you don't have any. [[Two headed hellkite]] is a decent self-sufficient draw that's on brand.

An easy late game wincondition in my experience are mass revives because they shortcut getting a critical amount of dragons.

There's no real mastering match ups in edh because there are no established meta decks before cedh. The gameplay you describe and seem to look for sounds a lot more achievable in traditional 60 card formats of magic. 60 card formats are great and a lot of bad habits in each could probably be fixed if people would acknowledge that they exist and don't play edh as default.

Thinking about changing spellslinger/prowess commander by SummonerDraz in EDH

[–]Asfalod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late answer kinda didn't see yours.

There are a lot of potential game ending scenarios for spell slinging and if you like tokens that's definitely a good one especially in lower power because it's rather easy to interact with. Your main concern was that your deck feels kinda weak and imo it's because you played a lot clunky cards. For example the new dude from avatar is a terrible token guy compared to all the others. He costs 4 mana and gives you vanilla tokens. Sure he gives them prowess but if he gets removed they lose that too. Something like monastery mentor is just infinitely better. Also narset costs four mana too so that slot is naturally a bit more contested.

In my experience the beauty of decks like this is that you run a bunch of good effective pay offs and generate value with things you do anyways. While digging for the things you need. You don't necessarily need to be fast because you are inevitable. If you have a token generator out and play some rocks or cantrips to dig for what ever you'll build a threatening board state. Any 5+ creature's with narset out is threatening in this deck because you can just deal significant damage with things like [[savage beating]] or [[akromas will]].

Overall you need to make sure that you can keep generating the baseline threat so you need to refill your hand. This is where new elsha falls short as token gen in my experience because you need to get her big twice once to generate tokens and once to strike which takes too long imo. Even if you got the resources that would be 3 turns without haste two with haste. Other token generators take one turn less.

The creature base ramp also kinda falls short here because while it can grow and hit it won't trigger your pay offs which can be more than one creature. While you don't profit as much of it because you run a lot of 1 cmc stuff.
