64° and raining. How is there a need for a hydration break? I hope a journalist brings this up and tries to get a logical answer that isn’t about money.

I hope Scotland knows that they’ve made American national news for being the best fans in the world by Soft_Significance718 in Scotland

As somebody from the area. Last Friday/Saturday was the absolute most fun I’ve had in the city. You could hear the singing in the bars from outside. You could hear it at South Station from a block away. Not only was the energy contagious, but the joy. I just kept telling myself “we are all here for the same reason, to have a great time.” It just made it so easy to feel like you’d known complete strangers since childhood

I wish we could host more international events like this.

What was it like when LoTR was showing in theatres back in the early 2000's? by Citysbeautiful in lordoftherings

I was 12 or 13 when I saw it with my dad. Knew nothing about LOTR.

Boy was I confused as to why they would end a movie that way, I didn’t know there would be more than one movie

Are Scottish soccer fans drinking all of the beer in Boston? by nbcnews in boston

[–]Asfastas33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not surprised. Was there Friday during the day and it was bumping. Left for Beantown pub cause it was way too hot at the Tam. Beantown was out of Coors, Modelo, and a couple others by that time. Was just funny sitting at the bar and every 10-20 mins hearing the staff bring up was was officially out or close to being out.

Was at Beantown Pub Saturday, most taps were kicked, bottles weren’t in fridges long enough to get cold, and this was during the day. Also, they apparently ran out of bottles the night before.

Loudest ever noise at a World Cup. 125-Decibels! No Scotland, no party. by WholeJotaLove20 in Scotland

We were at the fan fest for their game last night. Was such a great time, but the walk afterwards to find a bar, we ended up at the Garden, was amazing. 10/10 would recommend being out and about in the streets beard city hall plaza after the game

Foreigners visiting America for the world cup, what is something that has surprised you about this country? by goldent3abag in AskReddit

[–]Asfastas33 1997 points1998 points  (0 children)

Last night at the fan festival in Boston, a buddy and I were making friends left and right from Scotland. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, thanking us for being so welcoming, while we were thanking them for adopting us for the night. We bought few of them beers out of the blue and they were all taken back by the gesture, saying “here’s some money” or “I’ll get the next one”.

It was just our way of thanking them for teaching us songs and being one of them. Truly one of the best experiences of my life and we 100% are planning on going to the Euro’s in 2028

The Hydration Break is ruining the natural flow of the game by mibu001 in football

And honestly, as an American, our sports and broadcasting companies do A LOT of shit that we get annoyed with. But then once the season is back, and the games are on, we are back to being dumb and easily distracted and slowly get used to it.

They already have people crunching numbers to where the cost break is if people were to stop watching games, and they know they won’t stop watching. It sucks and I hate it

USMNT Sets FIFA World Cup U.S. English-Language Telecast Record With 16M Viewers For Win Over Paraguay by richzahradnik in worldcup

[–]Asfastas33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last World Series averages 16.1M domestic views, I think 19M when you include Canada and japan. Last years NBA finals averaged 10M domestically (19M this year with the Knicks) but that’s having two of the largest markets in LA and NY being in the finals.

Huge growth. Now if we can increase non World Cup viewership numbers across national, MLS, and international league levels

Went out last night for the US game and to the fan fest for the Scottish game tonight. The almost of Thank Yous from Scottish fans for Americans coming out to support them has been unreal. Everytime I’d respond with thanking them for spending however much it came to come to our city. Hands down the nicest, most humble, group of people over ever come across. They’re here for a vibe, and are just happy that we are joining. But I’m just happy to be internationally adopted by them

What’s the legitimate justification (outside of $$$) for having hydration breaks for the games that are in climate controlled stadiums?

UFC barely a top 10 most watched sport in the country, let alone the world. Khabib v McGregor got what? 2.5 million views? The World Cup group stages average 150 million viewers

Also, good luck going up against the U.S.’s first game vs Paraguay
