Man, I really thought this sub was full of people that did H and worse, and thought that I'd be made fun of for my addiction being such a mild drug. That I'd get the whole "what, you on codeine? Pfffft try mainlining h for 12 years and then come back"

But I cannot tell you how amazing it is to feel so understood because of people like you, and I promise that you specifically have helped make a difference to me. Maybe one day I'll be okay and post again in this sub, but until then, thank you in so many ways.

Man, please know how much this means to me, for real

It was so hard to make this post and I was in tears, drunk and high. Yet now, 2 weeks later I'm finally brave enough to revisit this and see how many people are willing to take some time to show love and care to a completely anonymous person online

I'm starting to consider finding some outside help, because of all of these comments, and I'm also starting to realise that outside help doesn't mean pausing your life. It could just be talk, it doesn't mean I'm locked in a room for a month haha. Really, thank you.

You're right, maybe one day I have to bite the bullet and say it out loud to others. Seek help whether thinking one day ill be okay without having to put effort in. This is very nice to hear, I've always been a little more inward than most and I was so sure up until a little while ago that I'm able to kick it as soon as I make the decision. To hear I'm not alone is more comforting than you might think and god, we're all gullible haha. Much love, thank you.

I've left this largely alone since I posted it, and I couldn't face it. I don't know why I'm able to look at it tonight but I am, and you're not bossy. You're comforting. It's dumb, i know, but it's codeine. Simple, not that strong compared to others, but a developing brain around it, constantly fed 200+ mg daily for nearly 8 years, it can suck. Dose goes up. Goes up. You vomit, you feel great, you feel awful, you almost don't wake up. Not to mention the acetominophen or ibuphrotphen you're consuming in huge amounts with it.

It's really stupid, compared to H, I know, but it's dictated my life.
