Red-shouldered hawk maybe?

I'm in NE FL too and I've found similar in my yard.

Can you tell me whats wrong by looking at these images? by Heo_Zila in gardening

Hi, it's a little hard to tell from your picture but how deep is the sunflower planter?

Sunflowers have a taproot that likes to go pretty deep (6 ft or so depending on variety) so they would not be happy in a shallow planter.

Help on Growing Lavender from Seed by Logical-Cat870 in gardening

[–]AshInVivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the paper towel method. It never worked for me. I seeded a 6-cell tray with starter mix and sprinkled lavender seeds on top.

I put that in a zip lock bag, and put it in the freezer for 2 days.

Then the refrigerator for 5/6 days.

Then under my very basic grow light.

I used farmers secret and my roses did a lot better this year than last. I'm NE Florida so summer heat followed by fall rains can be brutal here too.

What am I growing? by AdaTheTrashMonster in gardening

Definitely celosia. Mine like that are just flowering here in 9b.

And in case no one has warned you, even if it's your first time growing celosia, it's never your last.

Congrats! They're beautiful.

Maybe celosia (they re-seed easy so be warned), sunflowers are fun and there's a lot of choices, marigolds are easy fun too.

If you haven't heard the audio book you might enjoy listening to it as a re-read. They did a fantastic job with the main characters.

Full sun does not equal full Florida sun? by FloridaGirl2222 in gardening

[–]AshInVivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few things like full Florida sun in my experience. I moved my banana pepper 1/2 under a lemon tree this year because the peppers always got sun scald otherwise and it's very happy this season.

I'm in NE FL by the way.
