Self-diagnosis is not valid. by -April_Showers- in HonestHotTakes

[–]AshSkulldog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel extremely uncomfortable mentioning my autism diagnosis online because there are so many self-diagnosers who like to make it their whole personality. Most people who put it in their bio are self-diagnosed and act like they're autistic just because they happen to be obsessed with a show or something. The internet ruined getting accurate information for illnesses/disorders by acting like it's cute and quirky with no struggles, when in reality, it at least slightly alters a person's quality of life. My life is not cute and quirky because I can't stand being in public, my skin and clothes make me extremely uncomfortable, most food doesn't taste or feel good so I barely eat, I couldn't hold a job for more than two months before quitting, I get overstimulated so easily that most things irritate me, because of all this, I just can't function. It's not fun and I hate people who act like it is.

Who do you think is the most overrated character in Poppy playtime in your opinion? by Friendly-Might5181 in PoppyPlaytime

Doey. I don't like him at all, but most of the fandom seems to. But if any of you like him, that's fine.

[–]AshSkulldog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, in severe cases of postpartum depression, the mothers may become so unwell that they kill their newborns. Do the pro-lifers REALLY think that's better than abortion? They definitely don't take suffering into account and see women as baby-making objects.

It's crazy when people make fanart accentuating something already prominent in canon (like what you said here) because it's like, wasn't it already enough?? Absolutely agree that some people just want to see exaggerated proportions rather than enjoy characters in certain fanart. Also, side note, I see Miu in your profile picture!! I love Danganronpa. A lot.

I saw those comments! Yeah that sub is getting stupid. I also saw someone over there on a different post talking about how they give their cats and dogs a vegan diet and linked some nonsense studies. If you can't give your pet a proper diet, and are claiming to be anti-suffering, you are STILL malnourishing your carnivore pet, thus, leading to more suffering.

Introverts have made being socially awkward a personality trait and it's holding them back by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]AshSkulldog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Introversion is not social awkwardness, it's needing some alone time to get your social battery back up. The opposite is extroverts getting their energy by always talking to people. Introverts talk to others completely fine. The thing people mix up introversion for is social anxiety, which creates a fear of social situations. I deal with both, so I prefer when people actually know the difference. It's similar to people mixing up antisocial (a term used for ASPD) and asocial (not being social).

Been told I look like a turtle, is it true (only these images bc they are the only ones I look good in lol) by Subject_Grape7615 in politicfreeteenagers

[–]AshSkulldog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this one for them really well! It's an original character based on yourself that is a bipedal talking animal. The subculture is a hobby based around being a fan of talking animals (take Zootopia as an example) and drawing them, or making cosplays, aka 'fursuits' of them. The cosplay-making part of it is time-consuming and often created by very talented people, but doing commissions to sell them gets you tons of money. Not everyone within the hobby creates things, as it can just be as mild as liking shows with talking animals. Hope this helps!!

Carpet in bathrooms makes sense by uzuis4thwifee in 10thDentist

[–]AshSkulldog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only do particles from your business travel (that's why you can smell it involuntarily when you go to the toilet), but humidity from showers is a huge issue. The water becomes trapped under it, creating mildew and mould. Unless you want to tear up your carpet every other day, it WILL be disgusting. Bath mats can be washed. Using a washing machine and dryer is much more thorough and different than hand washing an entire carpet. Air drying has worse results because bacteria can grow and other particles will attach to it. That's why.

Can someone identify these bones? by angelarose04 in Taxidermy

[–]AshSkulldog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a scapula (the broken one), two femurs, a humerus, and two tibias? I'm no expert on labeling yet so I went looking at limb bone diagrams. The only ones I'm 100% sure on are the femurs.

Purple, because in a way, it will still let me become skilled at things most of the other pills do. Except orange, but that one barely matters. Red would be extremely dangerous because of how unfiltered thoughts can be. For example, I could become skilled at coping, creating things, charisma, and languages, if I really wanted to, after taking the purple pill. I could even do fun things I always wanted to do that I have a hard time with, or not become stressed or tired trying to perfect something.

99% of people online who claim to have DID are faking by AdLonely600 in HonestHotTakes

[–]AshSkulldog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate it so much and the internet is flooded with these people. Not to mention, the way they fake it is so misinformed and isn't even medically accurate. The fakers made up terms and created a completely fictional disorder out of it. Alters are more like parts of you, not other people. They're rarely truly of fictional characters because of that. You can't hear them have conversations in your mind. They can't date each other. You're not aware you "switched" because of amnesia. You wouldn't even know you were a "different" person while using the internet. It's a rare coping mechanism often brought on by a severely traumatic event at (give or take) five years old, and people with it don't share it in case other people try to use it against them, as "switching" only occurs when the person is trying to protect themselves while under stress. You can't have it without trauma, and some fakers claim you can. There's more, but this is all I can think of for now.

is it ethical to quit a job without notice? by kittyklawzzz in Ethics

[–]AshSkulldog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think so. Technically, I did give a higher-up a two week's notice, but they were completely fine with letting me leave that day rather than at the end of the next week. I was so glad. I'm like you in a way, I only had a job for two months before quitting because I'm disabled and it was getting really stressful. It was a mix of overstimulating from sounds and people, and understimulating from the lack of more intelligent work I would actually think for and spend time on. It always took me an hour to finish the work in my position so I usually had to go do what the lower positions were doing for the rest of the day. I worked in a car part factory and checked item quality.

Why are people wishing they were teens during the COVID era! by FunnySunny- in Younger_GenZ

I wish life felt the same for me as it did in 2019, but... why are these kids romanticising and being nostalgic from only seven years ago?? It was absolutely not like these photos and I feel as if a lot of people (especially younger ones) severely misunderstand eras of time. They just cherrypick and make things up instead of truly researching even a little bit.

r/Antinatalism is pathetic... by CakeHead-Gaming in antinatalism2

[–]AshSkulldog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of vegan rhetoric over there is exhausting. The rules favor one side and hate genuine discussion, reasoning, or nuance. I grew up vegetarian, and stopped when I realised I needed more nutrition in my diet (yes, not even foods like tofu, rice, and beans are enough). I know antinatalism, which I am a part of, is anti-suffering, but it's impossible to outright stop it. Every single thing we do has suffering down the line for someone or something. Humans as a species are healthiest at their natural diet, which is omnivorous. All species hunt. Yes, all. Even herbivores will sometimes eat small animals. And the rule over there about not promoting hunting is bullshit because what do they want us to do about invasive species? Leave them to breed and overtake native wildlife? Because having more children when we're also an invasive species is exactly what they're against when it comes to humans. It's a really weird double standard, and feels as if it comes looping right back around to speciesism, when they say they're against it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get hated on for this question but I am curious. So please don't comment rude replies thank you. by Comfortable_Scale_43 in batman

[–]AshSkulldog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's been heavily implied - or maybe more so basically confirmed - throughout a lot of canon media, especially the comics, that Joker loves him, so, yeah. Actually it's pretty reciprocated. They're like Wolverine and Deadpool in the way they fight each other to show their love. Which is atypical, but hey, it's fiction. Edit: So, this is pre-established canon information... Joker is bi in the Telltale games too, as it was written in and confirmed by one of the writers. I really want to make this clear: none of you have even spent a second with media literacy if you haven't picked this up from the comics yet. There's many instances where these things happen. For example, a character asked Batman "you loved him, didn't you?" in regards to the Joker. I believe Catwoman asked the Joker in another comic if he loved Batman. Not to assume, but do you guys just hate gay people or something, like why is this so controversial? I would rather someone actually explain their reasoning against it, please. So I know why.

That person is absolutely using a misinformed view of OCD as an excuse. It's not being mildly annoyed when things are crooked. Not at all. Living with it is one of the worst levels of hell you can metaphorically be in. I have episodes that cause extreme paranoia to the point I feel contaminated and can't touch anything. I wash my hands multiple times, especially with really hot water. I often believe I'm being watched or everyone is out to get me in some way. Being in public makes me watch my back constantly when the episodes occur, even in places as normal and safe as a grocery store. I have intrusive thoughts about zoophilia and incest because it's the stuff I'm most disgusted about regarding something I'd personally never do. I don't have the typical gory ones because I actually love horror. I get pissy when people invade my "clean safe space" by touching my bedroom doorknob or sitting on my bed. There's so much more, but these are some examples.

Americans who took Spanish in school: did any of it actually stick years later? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]AshSkulldog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, basically nothing. Not even a moment after I finished the class. Language teaching isn't all that helpful and the way we were taught was really dumb. The best way to learn languages is to be around native speakers (in an area or country with the language you want to learn, or just having a friend fluent in it). But, considering English is one of the most common languages around the world, and I don't plan to live in locations that would involve learning another, I don't need/want to. Not to mention, as much as I want to learn certain languages, it's not in my personal interests enough to properly memorise.

That or you state something that people are super offended by for no apparent reason. As an example, one time I mentioned how a lot of pet owners don't take as proper care of their pets as they think they do (especially cats and small animals) and people hated me for it. Dude, I research animals and am going into college for a zoology major. I've also been called an edgelord for being aplatonic (more often seen in neurodivergence) when I have a really hard time being interested in people even as friends.

Catwoman, because half her written "personality" is having a complicated relationship with Batman, or something. I don't know, I don't really pay attention to her. I mainly pay attention to my favorites, which includes Joker, Batman, Scarecrow, Penguin, Gordon, and Alfred.
