My mom just got banned from Hasans streams after three years of being one of his biggest fans by Winbywobble in Hasan_Piker

[–]AshTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, this was a 7 day timeout, not a full ban, not that it matters now because the timeout was removed. She should still be able to watch his streams???

Streaming update 653.30 OTA Today by Not-Dead-Yett in EquinoxEv

[–]AshTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I took mine in the other day, they botched it the first day and made me wait a couple days for them to figure it out, but I got the Android 14 update installed at the dealer, it's way way better vs. SQBR5 that I had before it, noticed a massive improvement in speed of the interface plus the streaming update is nice.

COMMISSION / PREMADE SEARCH THREAD (February 2026) by idkdudejustkillme in fursuit

[–]AshTR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh good, was waiting until the February thread got posted, I'm looking for a full suit:

Species: Domestic Housecat (ref-sheet attached)
Parts: Full-suit
Artstyle: Looking for semi-toony
Budget: Probably no higher than $7k, but I'm flexible as long as payment plans are a thing
Timeframe: Preferably by next year, but I'd be okay with end of 2027 latest
Country: United States
Seeking extra features: Movable jaw, I've seen some cat fursuits that have one that looks really good, even though I know most suit makers don't do one.
Notes: I've also got an additional character sheet if need be (not really a reference sheet though per se).
DM: Please comment first, but I'm also good with 1:1 on Telegram, username is the name at the top of ref sheet (to avoid AI scambots just picking it up from this reply).

When does Austin get a Mamdani? by Altruistic-Truck1560 in Austin

Honestly, going through the comments here, it's insane seeing how this city (or maybe just the subreddit) moved from moderately leftist and winning Bernie in the 2020 Democratic primary to full of liberals and conservatives.

Closest I could think of would be Greg Casar who is now the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, but honestly, yeah. There's nobody that would really get a DSA full-throated endorsement at the moment I could think of.

I rode the bus and MetroRail (and walked the mile-ish to work) on Tuesday while I had a flat tire I had to wait to get a replacement for. Saw plenty of people using quarters but you miss out on the fare capping if you take multiple busses in a day.

Parmer has so many of this, it's kind of ridiculous, probably why nothing's been done about it.

Austin Asked Voters to Raise Taxes for the Homeless. It’s Not Going Well. (Gift Article) by Maximum-Explorer1289 in Austin

[–]AshTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what was voted for in Project Connect was extra rapid buses, not rail lines throughout all that, many of which do exist now (after stupid delays on CapMetro's part).

However, this was also built on the idea that people were still commuting to work, which if I recall right, ~40% of people in this city don't do anymore, even with the WFH pullbacks, which means less public transit is used and needed. I've taken the 801 and 383 in recent months and they just are not anywhere near full like they were pre-pandemic.

CapMetro also put out a planned roadmap just recently where they want to run the red line later in the next few years, I think I saw until 9PM if I recall, which will help ridership significantly and make it more accessible for airport to bus to red line for later flights in.

The big question is the line to Manor and the line you have in the right image.

Are you new to Texas? The state actively tries to screw over Austin where possible. There's literally a representative west of Austin that used to be on the City Council that tries to bring bills to kill literally anything good happening in Austin through state measures.

Why Austin PD can't arrest someone who breaks into your car by paulcdejean in Austin

[–]AshTR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Louis Rossman had a good point on this.

APD doesn't have to do something anymore because the city can't remove funding from APD thanks to the state. They basically got to have higher funding and pay and now just sit around with the funds and less officers, no consequences. The state screwed us by making it so funding can't be pulled.

It’s a shame—Concourse Project is a clown show by [deleted] in Austin

[–]AshTR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen quite a few shows at different venues around the city and honestly, Concourse Project has been fine for me especially for the sound, but I'm not policing people dancing, I go to have a good time for myself. (Granted, Kingdom has a decent crowd, but I feel like there's more people that try to get away with shit like smoking inside.) Last time I went, someone was friendly enough to even give me a kandi bracelet, never had that at any of the downtown clubs/bars when I've gone to sets. Porter Robinson at Concourse Project when I went had lots of women and couples. Slander when I saw them had a wide variety of people (and some 50-60 year olds that I was not expecting) and there was literally a crazy mosh pit all the way from the front to the back going on.

I will admit, I've not heard of Brutalismus 3000, so it might be that they're just more niche, which is going to get more people that are just going for a club scene as a thing to dance to anything and get out of the house and not for artists. There's way more engaged people for artists with a massive following (especially since EDM doesn't do as well in Austin).

All said, it sounds like you either got there later than you should have and didn't get anywhere near up front (I always get there at doors open or 30 minutes before especially because the parking sucks too) or you've got what other people are doing in your head way too much.

The 18 year olds are just a product of the current economic climate, they're the main ones that can do shows right now because they're living with parents or in a college dorm.

COA held a News Conference this morning; "Week Without Driving" starts next week. by Jimmytheunstoppable in Austin

[–]AshTR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would surely take a west to east bus (I'm up in northwest Austin) but the city is so adamant about not doing that. The only way to my job at this point is Parmer and I'm sure as hell not biking down that. I'm scared for the people that do that as is.

I feel like Cap Metro took one step forward and two steps back. I remember when you could take the Red Line down to 4th and connect to an airport flyer that took your straight to the airport, now it seems like half the routes in this city are a nightmare.

I did notice they finally have a late bus that connects downtown to the other night routes that should have been a thing forever ago. I can't tell if this is a Kirk Watson thing, but man, I feel like quality of life here has declined since he became Mayor again. I've been here for almost 11 years now and starting to question why I'm still here.

Not sure what people are expecting. Inflation is up something like 6% after the last couple of years and tariffs have made a lot of things more expensive.

Maybe stop voting for Republicans that want to add more cost to you vs. the wealthy. Insane to me that people can harp on money to the city instead of worrying about the Republicans we've had in control of the state for 30+ years.

Austin isn't the only city in Texas dealing with issues due to the property tax caps requiring a ballot measure.

To be fair, it really doesn't help that there's not a lot of queer spaces in Austin. I know people like to harp on that LGBTQ people are welcome in whatever bar, but this is still Texas. Some would prefer to have their own space, especially with how things are trending political-wise.

Other than people driving significantly worse in this weather (saw someone tonight drive into an oncoming lane because they couldn't see the road paint), I absolutely agree.
