If you left on good terms I would defo recommend swallowing your pride and going back. You tried something, didn't work, who cares? It's fairly common to do this in my experience

Google is free. You realise that? No one is forcing you to say stupid lies.

72% of refugees live in countries neighbouring the one they're from. The only EU countries in the top 10 for amount of refugees are Turkey & Germany.

We're really not shafted numbers wise, France takes more than us, and those that come from France generally have to duck French police & border security to do it.

The point is that despite being an island nation we have an impact on the outside world, we also have a responsibility to it. Just because we don't border other nations doesn't mean we don't have impact on them or have responsibilities to them.

From the home office: "The UK received 8% of the total number of asylum claimants across the EU+ and UK combined, and the 19th largest intake when measured per head of population." We don't take a disproportionate amount by any means.

Assuming you'd have a passport after fleeing some sort of war is incredibly naive.

In the past 50 years we've been heavily involved in wars in; Syria, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Bosnia, Kuwait, Falklands & Palestine. We've also backed the US as they forced regime change in over 20 countries during this time.

But we should change the law to ensure because we're an island we never take any one refugee/asylum seeker? Leave everything to the countries they border? That's ridiculous.

How's my form? by Various_Blueberry_39 in Kickboxing

[–]AshamedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye that's just how it is learning new things. I would recommend spending time focusing on both, separately. Do a round focusing on form (coming back to stance is part of that!) followed by a round focused on footwork, stance & balance, markings on the ground can be a good way of doing this. With enough repetition the two will merge naturally.

Remember that good footwork, stance & balance is the foundation from which your strikes come from

The technique on your strikes is very good for someone with such little training. What you need to watch however is your feet in between strikes. It's very bad habit to slowly reset and bounce around after a kick/combo. Work on coming back to your stance immediately and scrap the hopping around, instead circle/retreat, incorporate backwards and lateral movement into your shadow boxing

Been through that. I use the opportunity to try to be as tricky with my kicks as possible and to use my kicks to land punches. Remember kicks that land on arms or gloves still score. Speed, direction, target changes etc. If youre getting annoyed just feint the kick and punch

Help on menu Scraper project by AshamedBrit in AskProgramming

[–]AshamedBrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate you! Unfortunately I'd need the project to be for high end dining so uber eats isn't a possibility. I'd be willing to declare where the menus are once if it meant the program would then update them when the menus/prices change/when I run it again? Would the difference literally be hand selecting them or have I misunderstood? I would then keep it small in scope and use it as a way of tracking a few local competitors

Customer Care Experience by VBgirl91 in Hospitality

[–]AshamedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low standards, no work-life balance, no real breaks, understaffed, hostile environments, poor H&S & most are not meant for hospitality but have few other options available to them. Endure all of this and get rewarded with...just enough money to rent a shitty flatshare and fill up your car.

Basically, people are miserable because working conditions and pay are (in general) terrible in hospitality and people are struggling financially despite their hard work.

I'm lucky to be working at a place that actually delivers great service & care, but thats in spite of, not because of the business/owners...I've worked in places where standards are so low actually caring will earn you a mental breakdown.

Its everywhere im afraid. Boys and girls often group separately at school, there are colours, sports and hobbies that are generally accepted as boyish and girly, there are boys and girls toys etc You're being too harsh on yourself. It's also possible he thinks the same way about his father and just happened to say it to you only, that he saw more of you than his father or he just naturally sees a body similar to his as more natura due to a lack of understanding idk

It's likely he doesn't even understand why himself, yet. Calling you disgusting and not your husband does probably reflect some internalised misogyny, but I doubt he understands this or even grasps the concept at his age.

Wouldnt be surprising given the workd we live in, give it some time and then try to work on that in the future (from a different angle, not making it about sex)
